That attempts to find GS and the freed prisoner show that they're checking all the store rooms suggests that they're searching for *something*. It's not hard to guess from there that they're looking for the bard's lute for some reason, and send it along with the troll to test the theory.

>>290328805I think it’s mostly because they didn’t have her for very long and didn’t need much effort to subdue her. Fighter was in such bad shape because not only was she raped, she saw her childhood friend/crush torn limb from limb in front of her and had her leg and ribs broken before being savagely beaten into not resisting. Spear girl and Noble Fencer were in goblin hands for days, and Noble Fencer saw the corpses of her team. Sword Maiden likely wasn’t in goblin hands long, but they were likely pissed off enough at her that they went quickly to maiming. Minstrel on the other hand she just ran from them, was pulled down, and they probably only had an hour or two at most of having their way with her before GS showed up. So no serious injuries, no trauma of seeing someone killed by goblins, and only a limited amount of rape not days of it.

DnD has its general rules/mechanics but the application is meant to be wide open on purpose to encourage creative thinking/entertaining storytelling, so like you can say "I attack the evil wizard" roll your chance to hit, succeed, roll your damage and move to the next person/enemy in the turn order. At the same time you can also be like "I'm gonna try to slash at the wizard's eyes in an attempt to blind them" which will have a much harder chance to hit, but if you succeed you will do just that and potentially fuck up their ability to function. Conversely a DM could be like "a goblin slings a stone at your head at high speed, give me a strength/dexterity check" and if you pass, you either dodge or take a glancing hit, if you fail, you could potentially be dazed/stunned and take penalties on your turn order or subsequent rolls for a few turns while you shake off the hit
