What's happening with the franchise, why are there no new seasons? How will filthy animeonlys like myself know how it continues?

It ended, simple as that. You must read the source material now as everyone else has been doing.

Anime adaptation was trash, people didn’t like it, stuck in anime hiatus until Item spinoff adaptation coming in October.

I don't like how the author pads the series, stopped reading it years ago. He can write some really interesting stuff at times but they're too sparse.
>>
>>290317313
the raildex threads cant even reach the bump limit despite two new spinoff series coming out
>>
>>290323111
Now, what is considered padding to you? Also, how long ago? Like 5 years?
>>
>>290323165
It’s only the previous 2 threads that couldn’t reach the limit. The first one was because of a maintenance and second one was because of there being nothing big to talk about that wasn’t in the first thread.

Also both threads had Himegami in the OP so they were running in stealth mode. Makigami couldn't have camouflaged the thread better.

Yeah, a quick dying thread really is the height of a healthy franchise next to relentless DBS-tier posts.

Comparing a relatively niche series in the west that doesn’t have any good adaptations, to Dragon Ball, is a comparison.

People lost interest in a series thats plot has barely progressed in 30 years

>Hasn’t even been 23 yet.
Also, they’re asking about why there’s no new anime. The answer is just a horrid adaptation of season 3, causing the biggest embarrassment this franchise has ever gone through.

Unfortunately, the Necromancer arc is her only appearance in the entire franchise, and the second arc of the Accelerator series sucks so badly that everyone agrees that it’s the worst arc.
>>
>>290325860
She'll be in the idol accelerator anime
>>
>>290322860
Can’t wait for the Item anime to have everyone slide towards each other, repeat multiple loops of a fight to artificially make it longer, and several thousand different colored filters on it, while Railgun is treated like an honored guest.
>>290326609
I probably should’ve wrote that it’s her only appearance in the canon of the franchise.

Reading is too hard for people nowadays. They would take weeks to try and read 5 books.
>>
>>290325061
I will enjoy the last bit of Fukiyose presented before the inevitable slide into the final arc where Touma isn't even in the city, be held back, and will have to quit school to avoid being a super senior. Likely selling his body as a mercenary or to ojous to feed his freeloaders.
>>
I don’t remember this so I’m asking it here. Did Touma get his brown jacket from GT4 through 11 from the dumpster? Or was I misremembering and it was actually his NT navy jacket?
>>
>>290317416
This guy sucks.
>>
>>290323767
Hidden so well, you’d think they were Aihana etsu.
>>
>>290329717
He got the blue jacket from the dumpster in NT6. He also got his hoodie from a dumpster that he liked so much that he kept it. Even though the jacket literally had IB written on it like a gift from the gods.
>>
>>290329717
He got the brown jacket from some kind of military surplus store iirc. That's why it was able to be so easily replaced in GT6 after Aradia killed him twice with Touma barely noticing it was a different jacket.
>>
>>290331250
Funny how the IB jacket never shows up again after NT6. He always wears his, sometimes black sometimes blue, school jacket over the hoodie. The IB jacket also never has its left side show up in the illustrations due to being cut off.
>>
Tried watching the silent party arc to see for myself on how bad it could be, first three episodes were soul draining. Made me press the skip 10 seconds button(?) repeatedly so I don’t die from groaning too much. I am dreading the next episodes. Only time I smiled was when I saw Aogami.

So far, it makes me want to lay down on my bed, look at my ceiling for an hour, and take long deep breaths the entire time.
>>
>>290317313
The events in the story not even taking an entire year to happen is the dumbest about this franchise. Characters never have the time to decompress or reflect on the life-changing disasters so even as more characters are introduced the overall status quo remains constant.
>>
>>290333619
I think the worst for me was when "world war three" lasted for something like a week to ten days. Calling it a war is retarded.

World Skirmish One.
>>
>>290333745
>>290333759
The entire arc went from October 19th to October 29th. It's stupid. Especially since the grand consequences of it that shook the world were... Aleister Crowley revealed to be alive, Academy City dark side disbanded (for like a fucking week, kek), and the Catholic Church got a new Pope. Laughable and not in a good way.

I mean there is a good chance everyone left will still be trying to kill each other after the bombs hit. One of the reasons why the Soviets built ridiculous amounts of weapons, had hardened command structures and put everyone through conscription is that they thought that if there was war then once all the cities were gone, whatever government was left would still have enough men and material to win in the aftermath.
>>
>>290337947
Not really, that has always been overstated and was under the belief that in a hypothetical future war weapons of mass destruction would indeed be used indiscriminately. Which is turning out to be less likely than assumed, for all the shrieking and turning the clock closer to midnight.
>>
>>290317313
Railgun 4 and item were just announced (a couple months ago), we just gotta admit that part of the franchise works better in animation
>>
>>290334055
There was more than that, because of WW3 Gremlin decided that it would be a good time to act and be terrorists. Also, the dark side was never said to have been disbanded. Aleister being revealed to be alive showed that this is the “real” man who stayed for a century and makes you question why that occultist made a science city.
>>290333619
People really call anything a “status quo” these days. Touma wants to actually live his life as a student, Accelerator moves forward with his guilt to help the people he cares about, and Hamazura is there.
>>
>>290338111
They'll likely be remnants fighting, but that's putting a lot of stock in their soldiers when realistically most are going to be scurrying around just trying to keep together when their chain of command literally get turned to shadows on a wall. Wars are logistics and it's hard to jump when no one tells you how high. In the case of Index, the head bad guy literally turned all hostility towards him as a power boost, so it at least makes sense that it all fizzled out when he "died".

What's with the autism of ending railgun before it gets past WWIII? I'm sure you could have asspulled an excuse for Saten and Weeharu to still do shit now that magic and science have crossed over
>>
>>290338837
The mangaka burning out and railgun having a no magic clause aside, it's been my theory that no spin off is allowed into NT until the Index anime gets there.
>>
>>290338430
MAD is actually not the strategy of any country. Every single nuke in the US and Russian arsenels are designated for a specific target (mostly other country's nukes) and only a small number are for urban/industrial targets. The total number of warheads is also down ~90% from the peak. https://asteriskmag.com/issues/01/the-illogic-of-nuclear-escalation
>>
>>290338913
That and the manga are all monthly so they spend four or five years on one arc that takes place over 3 days. Railgun started in 2007 and we got 6 arcs out of it (4 of them good). This type of Shonen should not be monthly.

No, not really. Maybe it could, but bad adaptation makes sure that everything is inferior to the source material. Only the Accelerator anime was better because the source material wasn’t good to begin with.
>>
>>290331250
>>290332030
Honestly, I thought the IB jacket was Haimura doing a Kubo and drawing the stylish clothes on them. Didn’t even realize it was used only once in the entire series.
>>
>>290338837
Saten had a cameo in the colored illustration of NT1 and passingly mentioned throughout late NT with no importance at all. Uiharu has slightly more importance due to talking in GT5, but it’s still minimal.
>>
>>290342201
It was only good because Accelerator is badass while Railgun is mildly interesting because of all the badass side characters not Misaka herself and it's not really her fault either it's just how it works

Imagine a stereotypical delinquent Touma. Honestly, an unbeatable threat to womankind. No hesitation to use dragon strike to do, and make them do, whatever he wants.

I meant him using the powers of the green dragon, hypnotism and illusions, on others. Touma still has the best self control out of everyone ever, specially holding back against CRC to torture him and make him suffer.

Index felt too complicated at some point. I remember watching the new season after a long time and they switched between like 10 characters/groups all the time and I didn't remember any of them

>Index felt too complicated at some point. I remember watching the new season
I mean, not entirely your fault, that season is universally considered terrible. The main problem is that they decided to adapt to many books into a 26 episode window. What this meant in practice is cutting a lot of scenes and dialog so you are missing a lot of context, fast talk so characters rush through the conversations they do have and rapid scene transitions between fast talking groups with no time to process what was said. It's a tragedy because most of the right beats where there, they were just played to fast.
In episode 17 Touma arrives in Russia, Accelerator and Hamezura are on their way and WW3 is kicking off. They needed to have this be in episode 24 and then end the season there, that would have provided enough time to tell the story at a reasonable pace. Then they needed to do WW3 as its own half season, instead of giving it 9 episodes, it needed to have 12 or 13. If they don't want to do half seasons then they should have folded in the first novels from the next series called New Testament.
>>
>>290353076
I do not understand why the left clones legs (and the other’s torso and arms) are cut off, while the right clone and Misaka aren’t cutoff at all.

>Misaka and Kuroko encounters this Touma.
>They walk past him without issue from their perspective, and strangely limp after passing him.
>From his perspective, he used the green dragon to put them under his control, and hide everyone from seeing, to fuck them in broad daylight.

Ep 4 is slightly better, I guess. Still atrociously boringly mid, but not as much as before. Ep 5 is just as boringly ass as the first three eps. Only heaven canceler made met even watch it. Ep 6 just has everyone act like the biggest dumbass possible. Study are so boring, they have nothing to interest me, at least the nectar arc antagonists were so over the top terrible that I could laugh at how shit they are. Only time where I had enjoyment, was seeing Touma in flashbacks.

After finishing ep7, I realized something. Silent party is just a poor man’s sisters arc. Ep8, the finale. Terrible as always. The attempted hype moments fell more flat than Saiai’s chest. Plot was stupid, ending was stupid. Never want to ever disgrace my eyes by watching that shit again.
>>
We are the DEEP DARKNESS
>>
>>290362152
Final notes. Study are even more bland and flat than Biagio, the worst Index antagonist, and make him look like a complex character. I apologize to OT11, first year, and even the nectar arc. All of them are more enjoyable than silent party. I refuse to believe that Kamachi had any involvement in this.
The last episode was just nonstop on using the same opening music over and over throughout the entire episode, that I wanted to rip my ears off. Worst arc in the franchise, I never want to see any character from it again and I will never watch it again.
