Imagine streaming your anime. I fucking hate people who do this. I fucking hate that streaming is a thing at all.

I just delete the torrents afterwards. If I'm ever going to rewatch it, I'll just download the blurays instead.

If it's a waste of space then it's a waste of time to watch in the first place. If I like it I watch it and it's worth saving, if I don't like it then I don't spend my time watching it in the first place.

imagine wanting to watch anime and needing to go to that one comic book store in town that actually carries anime on VHS and hoping they have a volume you don't already have and that it's the subbed version and not the dub. Then pray that it's not OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive for the three episodes in that volume. The box will go nicely on the pile of tapes stacked on that table over there.

The point of downloading anime is most importantly so you can watch it at your own leisure without an internet connection. The quality is a good incentive and is important in its own right, but ultimately your memory of the show will amount to the same thing whether you downloaded it or streamed it
If two people were to discuss an anime, can you say with confidence that the outcome of their conversation would significantly depend on the fact that one of the streamed it and one of them downloaded it but neither of them disclosed this information?
There is certainly something to be said about purists that insist streaming is damnable and bad actors that insist they are losing nothing by streaming, but by and large it won't ever actually matter if you are discussing the material in earnest
I prefer spending time reading manga personally so maybe that influences my opinion
>>
Why hate anime streaming? Who the fuck cares? I only torrent because I get a much better quality, but I wouldn't even think about people streaming it

ASW has intelligent enough defaults for an H255 to H256 conversion, although is an automated script that can make poor choices. The AV1 weebs like Trix and Ironclad hand encode everything with the same care BluRay encoders use, using different algorythms for different scenes with different light levels and levels of motion to ensure the lowest filesize their autism can allow with no quality loss in any scene, although some shows are done sloppier than others because this takes time. It's honestly fun to produce encodes that way. Imagine a lossless algorythm better than 7zip exists, but it requires 24 hours of fiddling with knobs to not fuck up and blur some pixels. Do you dedicate your weekend on it for the glory of technical mastery of the format?
>>
I hope all illegal streaming sites die because this is going to be the ultimate tourist filter. Real ones will just keep on torrenting like they used to. Tourist will be forced to only watch the licensed stuff or just quit anime altogether.
>>290340497

It's gatekeeping but i call it raising anon.
I don't fit in with this board anymore but long ago i tried to fit in because i didn't want my post to get called out and i didn't want to be a fag. I didn't allow myself to merely watch anime however i wanted, i didn't post as i was, i wasn't at WcDonalds.
Anonymous made me afraid of disappointing him and today i recognize that i was taught.
I'm not in threads to hate on things in order to just speak my mind i've also got an agenda and my agenda is cleaning our classroom like students do.

I just buy my blurays. Best possible picture and sound. I must have around 200. Download when theres no bluray.
>>

How do I unsubscribe?
>>
Sure yeah if we're talking some sketchy ass website with a million ads and shoddy quality.

But honestly what's the meaningful fucking difference between watching a currently airing show on the licensed streamer like crunchyroll and watching a simulcast rip that came from crunchyroll or whatever?
>>
>>290355462
Because the tourists wouldnt be watching anime without streaming. Torrenting and xdcc bots are a tiny tiny fraction of how anime is watched. Get rid of shitflix and CR too.

You digital horders make me laugh, you won't ever rewatch anything, there's no point.

rewatcher here, theres quite a few anime that i didnt like the first go around and then warmed up to on 2nd or 3rd viewing.

Shut the fuck up zoomer.
>>
>>290339451
Streaming is good quality now. Keep up with technology grandpa.
>>
>>290355462
In that case specifically, using your own video player is better and supporting crunchyshit or shitflix is morally wrong.
>>
>>290357845
Streamfag screenshots that have a fucking watermark on them disprove that so you know.
>>
>>290357986
And its just lower quality in general. Especially if you want a better experience. But I assume most of these streamfags watch on their phone. Sometimes, you can watch anime on BD remux on a big TV. It's pretty noticeable. It's simply a better experience to watch REDLINE or EoE on remux

They don't exist. Go on kissanime and open any stream of a recently airing show. You will be hard pressed to find any difference in quality from a subsplease release. You are spouting shit from 10 years ago.
>>
>>290339451

>>290355462
Every streaming website is a sketchy ass website, that's why they get nuked all the time. And yes they all have ads, some of which adblock doesn't catch and sometimes the page won't even load if it detects an adblocker. What a humiliation ritual.
The shoddy quality of which you speak is inherent to all streaming sites which must compress the files to get them to play in a web browser, thereby reducing the quality. They often even have watermarks too. Another humiliation ritual.
Licensed streamers are arguably even worse because they promote dubfaggotry and censorship and straight up remove shit from their library after you fucking paid for it. Yet another humiliation ritual.
In short, streaming is for casuals who love being humiliated and demoralized by the jew.
>>
>>290343261
one of these years I will take a trip to cuenca
>>
>>290344689
Yeah, sadly
>>
>>290358638
the "quality" difference is right there in your own screenshot. Way to self-report. Disgusting caption-tier subtitles that don't allow for any typesetting whatsoever. A disgusting control panel overlay at the bottom that appears the moment you move your mouse and stays on screen for multiple seconds.
And what's that I see, sponsorblock to skip OP/EDs? I'm guessing that's turned on by default. No surprise casuals hate J-pop too.
>>
>>290352930
Just say you don't know how to torrent and someone will help you.
>>
>>290360521
It's the extra black box surrounding the subtitles that gets to me. The subtitles cover enough of the screen as is. Why cover them even further?
>>
I ran out of disk space and storage is fucking expensive right now, what do?
>>
>>290360605
delete the shitty series from the drive and keep the good ones
alternatively upload series to mediafire accounts, I think it allows 50gb storage per account
>>
>>290360605
Delete English dubs from all your dual-audio releases. Also attachments if you REALLY need the space, because some assholes attach 30MB+ of fonts to each episode.
.ass subtitle formatting will be fucked though.
>>
>>290355564
jokes on you I'm rewatching Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu. today
>>
>>290360753
>multi account
Good luck not getting caught and have your whole collection nuked.
>>290360758
>fiddle with commands just to shave 30mb from a 10gb release, and breaks seeding
The real problem is that the only release that includes rare stuff I want make hugeass 1gb/ep encodes.
>>
Do some of you guys really not delete stuff immediately after you finish watching it? I have like 10 gigs of free space on my hard drive on a good day, and I download stuff all the time; I only ever keep the anime that I end up really liking to the point that I'd be willing to rewatch it.
>>
>>290360521
thats not video quality difference thats your autism with the UI
>>
>>290361062
its not autism. the black box surrounding the subtitle is basically watermark levels of shit.
>>
I stream it over LAN from my home server to my TV, does that count
