They don't make series like before anymore, huh?

what are you even trying to say?

The example I posted ended 16 years ago, many other series of the same quality are the same or older
Today I only see tasteless slop

nah, wtf, it hasnt been that lo-
>manga ended in june 2013
i-is this how time felt for yuuko..?
>>
>>290351210
am I the only one that thinks this series could have gotten a sequel focused on the paranormal investigations club shenanigans? too bad that the author spent the next decade making doujins and mid series
>>
>>290351916
Wouldn't have felt the same imo. Yuuko is lovely but an aimless manga would likely get boring fast, it would need a more interesting overarching plot to work like the original series

Been years since I read this and still haven't found another series that hit the spot so hard as this one, why Yuuko so perfect?

she's the perfect teenage gf everyone dreamed to have in school
>hot but isn't harassed by everyone (only you can interact with her)
>has eyes only for you
>is always around the corner, ready to give you a pleasant surprise
>doesn't really need anything but your company
>is very noble and kind too
>you're her first love too
she's basically a tulpa, the kind of girl any loner schizo day dreamt with while eating lunch alone in a corner

I sure hope you've read this

I never understood how could the MC feel Yuuko as if she were corporeal and even sense warmth in her body. I guess the series never made much sense to begin with
>>
>>290356384
>she's basically a tulpa
She might unironically be that. There's never any other spirit shown in the show and she clarifies more than once that the way she is seen or if she's perceived in the first place depends on the imagination and beliefs of the observer. So basically you just have to believe in her to materialize her.

As much as I have a soft spot for the softest, the anime is almost as old by now as Yuuko was at her time of death. You can't expect these threads to draw in a crowd anymore. At least they still retain a faint ghostly presence on /a/ which is more than can be said about many of Tasogare Otome's contemporaries.

As long as people remember her and talk about her, she will live on!
>>
>>290351210
Ending was shit though. The romance story about ghost girl is impossible to begin with
>>
>>290360497
I'm pretty sure there are many contemporary /a/nons that haven't seen the anime because they werent even born when it aired
>>
>>290360597
The ending kinda felt like it left a door open to expand the story more but the author moved on
In any case, with what we were shown, it can be assumed that Yuuko would remain bound to Teiichi until he dies and then move on alongside his soul too
>>
>>290351210
fine ill read it

/a/ is millennial central, underage b8 doesn't come here anymore

It's an anime board, dude, I'm sure there are a lot of underage people here
>>
>>290354270
>This fucking board is just a husk of what it used to be
The whole board feels rather empty lately, very low activity and the little it retains is usually focused on the usual brainrot spam threads
>>
>>290361258
Too much gooner bait ruined the board culture. We literally have boards for ecchi, hentai, yuri, etc, but no, they have to come here and drive more people out

What were the differences in the anime and manga endings? I haven't seen or read it for a very long time and want to choose which medium I go back to, I'm leaning towards the anime because I think the art has aged a lot better. Maybe looked good back then but it looks kind of bad in places now when I was looking back at some pages.

The manga has way better art than the anime imo, at least I consider manga Yuuko to be even more pretty than her anime version. As for the differences in ending... it's pretty much the same, the epilogue does show a different event IIRC but the idea of how the characters end is the same.
There are other major differences between both mediums during the story tho even if the ending is pretty much the same. The manga obviously has way more content, but some people criticize that the reasons behind Yuuko's death in the manga are kinda retarded while in the anime it makes a bit more sense (the anime also adds an extra layer in the connection Yuuko has with Teiichi that isnt present in the manga)

Watch both, you just can never have enough of Yuuko-san
>>
I feel like the story could have added another layer of humor by showing Yuuko getting up with the times, she has basically been disconnected from the world for 60 years, learning only tidbits from students and teachers

You literally don't know what you're talking about because you're a newfag zoomer. /a/ was always a horny board and had lots of sexualization. You couldn't even tell me why /a/ used to be better than it is now, because you were not here.

Yuuko utterly overshadows every other girl Maybe created, either before TOxA or after it. They are not even playing in the same league.

I noticed the same thing. Probably the more adjusted people went on with their lives and the new generation is just shit? Don't know if /a/ got impacted by the culture war as much but /gif/ for example got completely ruined by it. Even mods have given up on it. It feels like it is only 3 terminally online people bumping there own special interest thread and berating each other.

Whatever have a Yuuko

Liza was good, I preferred Schaal more tho.

Newfags are all normalfags, and cancer, or else they aren't here at all. Oldfags who were secret normalfags are all fathers now, with a twitter account, who might post on /a/ once a week but don't really care. Failed normalfags who are oldfags became even more unhinged, depressed and unstable as they aged; and are still here. Actual abnormalfag oldfags are still here but the spark left them in their 20s.

It's a shame altchans are mostly slower and worse than ever.

I think picture boards and forums are less needed in the world of social media and streaming. Why discuss stuff if you can watch a reaction video and get your opinion from there? Why click through picture threads when the social media algorithm sends you some nonstop? Anime openings and endings today even just hope to start the new tiktok dance challenge to kpop sounds and not about otaku culture (well they never cared to begin with). Today's 15 years old isn't in 4chan seeing what anime is out there and how to pirate it because his dad got him a crunchyroll subscription

Most people just moved on to the next supernatural boobed entity letting a virgin boy touch her boobs. We are at the point an anime gets a thread once a week when the new episode hits and then it gets forgotten

Places like 4chan, with Anonymous, is some of the truest social interaction on the internet; which means it's a place and a way for us to do something most of us aren't capable of doing properly IRL. Streams and, to an extent, social media don't provide the same.

Everything is possible in the correct bubble. You can be in the Ecchi bubble or in the anti ecchi bubble. You can focuse on isekai and/or Harem and/or fighting shounen etc. People don't need to come here and see which threads are open or even open one themselves when they can just watch the new youtube vid about it and then goon to the OF chick cosplaying as the current hot waifu
>>
>>290351373
The modern romcom and romance manga and light novels I have tried reading are very one-dimensional and follow the same tropes and plot progression, these bland series' are usually adapted into seasonal anime slop.
What older series' can you recommend for an uncultured zoomzoom like me?
Something that will hook me in and make me feel feels like I did for anime and books as a young boy in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
>>
>>290367896
To elaborate, the oldest romantic series that I have read that was really good was Spice and Wolf while the best modern one was probably Nagatoro, even if it got trope-y at times.
I have made the mistake of reading Masamune Kun no Revenge which was truly a waste of my weekend, and it was like a soulless version of love is war but if the characters were reduced to dumbed down tropes of themselves and if the story had no real progress or conflict
