This show is the perfect encapsulation of what I hate about LN adaptations. They set up their characters, their premise and an interesting mystery, and then they proceed to focus on literally anything else but that so the anime feels aimless and ultimately pointless. I know it's because they're staying closer to the source material but I think it's sometimes better to try and use the material to create something actually interesting that can stand on its own.

A few scenes in Cho Kaguya heavily reminded me of Accel world. At the time I really like the idea of abandoned/long standing player-owned houses that give sanctuary to artifacts and memories in a long standing MMO; that and location based sign-in felt like author's nod to AW.
