Great episode. I felt it took a long time to get to this point and wasn't sure if it would be worth it. I think it is now. The earlier episodes were a little rough with how passive the protagonist was. I'm mixed on it. Finale should be great if it's like this episode though.

The episode was amazing.
Guan Chao and He Ming Shuo's story was pretty reminiscent of the pilot's childhood friend duo with both CFs protecting the Bug Sources and both of them being dead as well.
It's definitely more polished and more nuanced than the pilot. The episode made me tear up more than it at least.
Honestly don't think that the last episode will top this one, but that's okay. It's an enjoyable ride so far and definitely would rewatch once it ends.
Also, I don't think the MC would be able to accomplish his goal due to typical chink censorship. So it would be interesting how will they get around that limitation while giving a satisfactory ending.
Then again, Link Click's writer+director is also on board on this project so they might be able to give some pointers on how to skirt away from the censors

Maybe chinks are realizing that relaxing their censorship works wonders the same way freeing their market made their lives better. Their media conglomerates cannot survive on wuxia and cultivation shit alone.
