Why did Rumiko make sure Ranma wasn’t a pervert? I think it's more complicated than Ranma just being disinterested. He doesn't have a chance to flirt with random girls as if he was a normal teenager, his weird father got him engaged. Sesshomaru was also meant to be gay before Yashahime happened and retconned his entire character and he’s portrayed decently enough. Both Jakotsu and Sesshomaru were originally supposed to be women anyways before Rumiko thought about it some more and got uncomfortable with the thought of Inuyasha regularly beating up on women so she simply changed them into effeminate gay men “as the next best thing.” That says nothing regarding her stance on gay people aside from the fact that she thinks gay men are like women.
