I’m pretty sure I saw witches from different Madoka works, like Magia Record and other spin-offs, existing in the Nazukasokotsune area outside the universe.Honestly, I think there’s probably going to be a connection between the movie and the spin-off stories. Rebellion was also written by multiple writers, with Gen Urobuchi as the main writer, and this movie seems to be following a similar approach. Plus, Magia Record is clearly connected to the anime, and there are events in the game and other spin-off stories that already suggest these stories are interconnected.As for the writing, I honestly have no idea if the movie is actually good or bad yet. I’ve seen people saying it’s absolutely amazing, while others are calling it terrible. I’m not really taking the negative reviews too seriously though, because Rebellion got a lot of the same reactions when it first came out, and I personally think Rebellion is a masterpiece.As for power scaling, the Madoka cosmology is already established to contain infinitely many universes, with each universe itself containing infinitely many universes, so I don’t really think anything that happened in the movie automatically makes Homura a fraud. Like 3.0 there's a whole bunch of new characters introduced with little buildup, the buildup from the previous movie (Homura and Madoka's clash of worldviews) is discarded and the finale is vague the part where Madoka says something to Homura but nobody hears what she said; it is a deliberate ploy to avoid a firm direction for the series, as each member of the audience will come up with their own headcanon of what Madoka said (sorry, thank you, I love you, etc) and be satisfied.

Like the fusetter post which was linked in one of the previous threads, the biggest issue seems to be that the creative team is afraid of making any groundbreaking decisions and decided to play it safe with a vaguepost ending, thereby kicking the can of consequences down the road, so that they can milk audiences for another 13 years. Resulting in a movie that isn't terrible, but aggressively mediocre.
