Serious question. Does Goku have different SS3 hair than Gotenks? I remember people ranting that XV3 is just going to recycle Super Saiyan 3 Goku's hair again and the argument to it was that his hair was already the default anyways by pointing out Gotenks and Heroes, but Heroes is non canon and Gotenks has distinct differences right? At least that's what I thought at first. Like for example, when Goku first went SS3 in the manga his hair was flowing more outwards unlike Gotenks who's went all the way down, but after its first appearance it mostly flowed down. And then you have the spike differences, Goku's are longer and more rounded unlike Gotenks' but once again they both became more similar.

Since Goku is out of the picture he quickly provides a counterweight to the Androids vs. z fighters conflict, like Tori had previously done on Namek with Frieza wrt Krillin and Gohan vs. Vegeta (and first in the Colonel Silver arc with Pilaf), but this time the lurking threat wasn't initially a seemingly invincible figure like frieza. Then everyone had to watch as Cell just got stronger and stronger, the protagonists (mostly Bejita's fault) failing to stop him time and time again. This element would later get reused with Buu. All the while he had no scary theme, just silence. When he became semiperfect his personality changed a lot, and he looked more human, but he definitely didn't feel like a humanoid character, unlike Frieza who eventually even teamed up with the good guys. He came off more like Giran than anything, or at least it struck me that way. His perverted lust after 18 and his insane arrogance and power when he was perfect just complete his arc so well. From glob to superbeing, basically a proto-chimera ant.Everyone says Frieza this, Buu that but Cell is the best narratively
