I cried a bit at the fireworks scene, such a good moment, really brought the whole plot with the notebook together
Very cute episode. The sequence where they're brainstorming the giants that eat cliffs and the sentient trees is the most this show has reminded me of Eizouken so far, which is still the gold standard when it comes to depicting the creative process in anime for me. Lotta fun. Laughing at half the ideas in the notebook being "what if shadows were real".

man I love this show so much. It's so good at celebrating the youthful creative urge, when you haven't learned all the rules or had your dreams reduced down by the responsibilities of an adult life. I love how Sensei sees herself reflected in Ai and she feels a tiny spark of what she used to feel. This show makes me feel real hope, that maybe there's life after being turned cynical by the world.
