New chapter today
Fiona is going to win
>>290558571 I think I first saw her in the anime near the ending of season 3 one day with dealing with that agent who actually kill people in the country Twilight comes from where it sounds like more of a diplomatic disaster or problem than anything Twilight did the country will usually in I'm not good with names.

>>290559121You are a scholar and a gentleanon.
>>290558571I'm about to drop this series. Nothing ever happens. It's too slow. I have a lot of patience but it can't keep going nowhere.Unless we get a chapter where we see Chloe in her daily life and she runs into Fiona and they become best friends or something..
>>290558571im excited for absolutely nothing

Thanks for delivering as always
Breather chapter. Not really surprising.
>>290559399>"Everything that happens has some meaning behind it">These are the thoughts that will keep you chasing imaginary clues foreverWhat did Endo mean by this???
>>290559464
>>290559536
Its ok chapter.

>>290559664
>>290559347>but I didn't do surveillance this morning
>>290559399>>290559514Feels like the whole first portion of the chapter is Endo telling us off for thinking the previous arc would give a big revelation.

>>290558847>>290558893I think I first saw her in the anime near the end of season 3, when she was dealing with that agent who actually killed people in Twilight’s home country. It seemed more like a diplomatic disaster or problem than something Twilight caused, but I’m not good with names.
Genuinely getting a little boring. I get that it's his cash cow, but at least say Detective Conan has new cases. We already know Damian loves Anya, nothing new gained this chapter.
>>290560344The family interactions at the end, and the Sylvia speech, were all worthwhile I think.
>>290560326
>>290560385
>>290560344Axeman has been putting out little breather chapters between arcs for a while now. This is just him taking a break without actually taking a break.
>>290560432
>>290560478
>>290560344>>290560384Also the Damian stuff wasn't about "oh he likes her" but rather Damian making a decision to do something about his feelings (probably regarding his father).
>>290560533Chapter's worth it for this Yor alone, what a cutie patootie
>>290560533
>>290560533I would pay money to see the adventure Yor went on searching for herbs for Loid.

>>290560584End of the chapter. I hope you enjoyed it. All chapters can be found here https://mega.nz/folder/xxMBgC6A#P2VM5Gfn-4wyyLmdR8k_RwThis one is already uploaded. Until next time and stay safe, buddies.

>>290560004Picrel
>>290560584I expected Anya to feel threatened by Yor outdoing her like she has in the past. Them deciding to put both sets in and thus team up for Loid's sake was a nice development and very cute.
Wish we had more family moments like in the end here
>>290560668Hes cheesed to meet them thats for sure
>>290559955SILENCE MORTAL
>>290560533I like that the other members of Garden come up so often now.
>>290560385>>290560326>>290560256Good teacher
Nice breather chapter, full of nice interactions and possible hooks for another arc.I agree that >>290559873 the overthinking part was aimed at us, the readers, but it still gave us some clues that Donovan's case isn't as obvious as it seems, which fits earlier discoveries. The weed-searching was cute, guard guy (whose name I forgot) was fun with his jungle talk and will totally ship his young master with this pink peasant-peanut hybrid, Damian himself slowly learns from her and starts being proactive in his "mending the family ties" quest. All in all, quite the refreshing chapter and it was great to see Sylvia again.>>290560802Didn't know you had internet connection in the Tower, Churafi

>>290559596>>290559664Wait, I thought it's currently autumn? I have the image of crocus pushing through the snow, and I always see pussy willows being sold for Chinese New Year.
>>290561080Thats deadly for a dumb peanut.
>>290560533I hope that little mouse is okay.
I read the WISE part entirely, then skipped pages until I saw they were all at home, then picked up from there. That's the only way to make it bearable.
>>290559536The fuck is that thing!?
I skipped the WISE part entirely, then read the slice of life parts until the end. That's the only way to make it bearable.
>>290561462It's winter. Likely January or maybe even February at this point.
>>290559536I love this series. Going from a simple breakdown of analysis to a Dragonball Z character. Great stuff.>>290559955Anya has gotten too into the aliens thing...>>290560533After some amount of bland gags I forget that Axeman actually is really good at the whole 'comedic timing' thing.Goddamn that is a top 10 Yor too. Very Snow White. Very demure.>>290560584>>290560655This is a good way to poison the entire family.
>>290561647This is not!Germany, so for both of those plants to happen it should have been right before Easter.
>>290561647The fuck did I think it was currently autumn then.
>>290560432>>290560326>>290560256Thanks Endo. I'm stuffed.
>>290560655Dinner gag's a bit flat now.
>>290561530Anon, I can assure you, we don't care how you do things.
>>290559536What is Big Boss doing here?
>>290559955>Damian doesnt know about MossPathetic this is why your dad doesnt love you
I don't really get shipping children...like they're kids ffs who gets off on that? The only thing worth reading in this chapter were the last part with the family
>>290560533>ChamomileAt least Yor chose correctly
>>290559536holy shit it's that leek boy from GantZ
>>290561873No, it's sort of like watching a puppy play with a toy. It's endearing and it warms your heart.I'm not the least bit interested in watching them do anything inappropriate.
>>290561873>I don't really get shipping children...like they're kids ffs who gets off on that?A few people do...
>>290561873>ffsGet the FUCK out and never come back.
>>290561873If the first thing that came to your mind is porn then you might be the problem, son.
>>290562041Not him, but these threads are so full of pedophiles that it's a pretty fair assumption to make. >>290561941 is a blessed anomaly.
Good chapter. Loved every page. Gonna read it again.
>>290562169This is /a/. EVERY thread has pedophiles.
I enjoy Damianya the same way I enjoy the family interactions. Because they're cute. It doesn't go deeper than that.
>>290559514That not everything is a conspiracy. Sometimes the world is just irrational.
>>290560533Best wife
>>290560533>>290560655they're so compromised for each other
>>290560655Loid will soon master the ability to talk in stomach rumbles.
>>290559536Head like a fucking fennel bulb
>>290559536Peak character design.
>>290560655Thanks. Bit of a dull nothing chapter but at least there was a cute Yor.
>>290561001>and will totally ship his young master with this pink peasant-peanut hybridgod I hope not, I hate shipfag characters so much
>>290560191Looks a lot like water hemlock to meThat will help with a tummy ache but only one time and for ever
>>290562960>Bit of a dull nothing chapteras is normal for school chapters
>>290563213Stay mad. Endo will keep making them.
Creep lurking
>>290563347Axeman has been using school mostly for breather chapters lately, which is a good fit for them. The problem before was that he leaned on them way too much to stall, which is what turned most people off to them.
>>290561873Hey, uh, anon, this may come as a bit of a shock to you but, uh, you can enjoy something without ''getting off'' to it.
I love all chapters. You guys should be more like me. You'd be less miserable, that's for sure.
>>290563687My ideal chapter is nothing but plot advancementPlot advancement so thick the entire series is over in a single chapter so I can get on with complaining about the next series being fillerslop.
>>290563687The self-righteous attitude makes you sound more like a faggot than the anons complaining.
>>290563898You seem upset. You should try being like me.
>>290563687I like cute peaceful chapters but I also like story progression, and we've been short on the latter lately
Damian is a hell of a lot more chill around Anya here than he's been before. I call that progression.
>>290559794>ignoring his lackey's attempts at jeering>>290559955Approaches Anya to talk to her and give advice>>290560049Shows concern for her dad and spends the chapter helping her>>290560432Doesn't shout at her for making him feel flustered and just takes the thank youYeah, it's progression. I'd be mad if it was just more childish fighting, but it looks like Endo's ready to move their friendship forward.
>>290563687But I'm not miserable because I skip the pages I know are whatever. Reading unlikable tsundere outbursts and rich kids talking down to commoners for 8 years is what would make me miserable. It is reassuring to know that not even the ESP secret reveal can change the status quo because it means I can skip everything Eden going forward and not miss anything.
>>290564531>unlikable tsundere outburstsWell if you had bothered to read it, you'd see there isn't any of that.
I'm surprised that no one was talking about the incredibly blunt aknowledgement of the sentiment that you (the reader) are supposed to wonder if Donovan even is an antagonistic force.
You guys bitch and moan too much. Luckily, Endo has no reason to pay attention to the whining of the lesser Americans.
I'll take this over that one guy who, for whatever reason, eventually starts spamming threads with images of Yor with huge tits and an ass,
>>290565042>an assJust one? I only tolerate Yors with two asses.
>>290564872There’s no way this wasn’t aimed at readers.
>>290564910None of them are paying him money or purchasing his merchandise, either.
>>290560533bravo endo
>>290560191The peanut provides top tier reaction images as usual
>>290560584
>>290564817Yeah I've heard that before and seen how that turns out in subsequent chapters. Still the same old bickering song and dance the next time they do their scooby doo adventures. The reset button gets hit and the chapter can be skipped desu.
>>290566438I'm sure Endo loses sleep because one guy is dissatisfied.
>>290566438Hey, anon. Here's an idea, if you can see that a chapter isn't to your liking, you can just, you know, leave. There's no gain in telling us you didn't read it. It makes no difference whatsoever.
>>290566657COOL IT with the antisemitism
>dat ass
>>290560655This chapter feels like a calm before the storm. Maybe it's just me though
>>290566657Alternatively if you want no complaints and want to police threads you can leave the site. Find like minded people who don't like negativity.
>>290559596I have "arrived".
I have Kengan fatigue
>>290559955>"You're one too."Maybe this is foreshadowing that Anya isn't actually a child of an earthling. Maybe Anya IS an alien.
>>290567678Complain all you want, just be more mature about it rather than "nuh nuh, I didn't read it".
>>290559955Poor form, Anya. You need to arch your back more.
>>290560533Brutal mogging
>>290567259Concur. Also it's left me with a weird sense of importance or relevance. Weird because on the face of it, there's nothing new (WISE still trying to find pieces, let alone fit them together. Damian is not a lazy noble sy-on but actually quite bright and studious. He has a soft spot for Anya, both first crush and 'not so different, you and I'. Anya seems an impulsive ditz but actually LISTENS to what people say and takes it in, if not always wisely. Yor is ... Yor) but it feels like there's an undertone to it all.On the other hand, it's also a chapter where the writer is grabbing hold of our shoulders and saying "don't overthink this shit", so I should probably take that advice.
>>290568243>27 year old virgin outperforms against a 5 year old
>>290560533I love this woman so muchPut 5 babies in her Loid, you fucking fag
>>290564872I've been thinking that way for a long while now. After all, every country has an agenda
>>290559281Ah, my favorite manga: nothing x happens
>>290568186>mfw I can't find a single fuck to give after looking all day
>>290559347>if you didn't have breakfast today, how would you feel?>but I did have breakfast! This is WISE's equivalent to Chloe, to hammer in how hard the SSS mogs them.
>>290568186Bond should have taught her better
>>290559596>how would you feel if you didn't have breakfast this morning?>that's impossible, I never skip breakfast
>>290568614The SSS is on their home turf. All the WISE agents in Ostania have to be constantly paranoid to a much greater degree.I wonder if we'll ever learn about Ostania's foreign intelligence services. Westalis in general is basically a black hole, I think we've only ever seen it in Loid's childhood flashback.
>>290568826>I think we've only ever seen it in Loid's childhood flashback. And that was simply a small town. We also got Martha ending up on the edge of Westalis in her flashback, but all we really saw there was the house of the woman who nursed her back to health. Oh, we also briefly saw WISE headquarters early in the series (i.e. the scenes with the guy who questioned if the numbers on the bill sent by Twilight were real).
>>290560533Huh...
>>290568159Yeah I said historically it has amounted to nothing and they constantly get reset. So that's why you can skip it without worry.
I couldn't find this initially in the catalog, but hey I'm glad we didn't get hit with a classic Axeman break today
>>290568826>>290569179And his hometown was named after and modeled on Leuven, Belgium. People say the countries are East and West Germany, but from the little we've seen it feels more like Ostania is a united Germany while Westalis is France/Low Countries.
>>290569425It's still clearly East/West Germany in my eyes but maybe you could be proven right the further we go
>>290561873It's actually extremely normal behaviour in regular society to look at kids at think "they look cute together". Parents put playdates together and shit with that intent. You're actually weirder than the average fucking anon.
>>290561564It says "feld guide" right there
>>290560432REALLY cute peanut
Man I want an official Highschool AU spinoff thingie.
>>290561873Holy fuck you're dumb
>>290558571i skipped to the last three arcsspoiler]of the manga and I'm quite enjoying iti'm impressed that damian is so mature he can critically think about his relationship with his fatherI hope he has the courage to extend his hand
>>290570083I like his character but he's unrealistically introspective for a kid his age
>>290569735Cute. It's a shame we can't have a timeskip in canon because Anya's power is way too OP and only balanced by the fact that she's a little kid with no context for anything. Even a 10-12 year old Anya completes Operation Strix in a month.
>>290569494The issue there is that Westalis and Ostania seem to have been separate countries and cultures for a lot longer than East/West Germany were, assuming they ever were the same country (chapter 98 has a radio broadcast refer to the war with Westalis as a war for "unification" rather than "reunification").There are comparisons to be made to real countries, but the "fictional world" aspect seems to have become a stronger focus over time.
>>290570140 I don't think she's growing slower but she like a year younger than everyone cuz she lied about her age to get adopted back at the beginning.
>>290570140It's embarrassing that they can't do a timeskip to do the things that the audience obviously actually wants.
>>290570210Current Anya is too marketable to change with a timeskip.
>>290568826Well we’ve seen the SSS run foreign operations (Wheeler), and Ostanian Military Intelligence has been mentioned a few times but only had a major appearance in Code: White.
>>290570210Disagree. It would please the Xitter shipper crowd, but they're going to ship and draw high school AU art regardless of what canon does. Endo would lose way more readers than he gained because Anya's funny 5-year-old behavior is like 75% of SxF's hook.
>>290570359Ah, I mainly just read the manga. Haven't seen Code: White. We never saw on-page what Wheeler was actually doing in Westalis; the whole arc still took place in Ostania.
>>290559596Tempting fate there, son. At least a jungle chapter would be different to the usual boring beach chap......I have a sudden feeling that Damien's going to end up in the Garden somehow, and not exactly by choice... Wonder if that's how we get the big confrontation/reveal between Twilight and Thorn Princess?
>>290570207Once you hit 14-15 when girls stop growing a year won't really matter for height. If those are the heights in high school then Anya is always going to be stubby. On the other hand, B-cup-ecky will be jealous of Anya's Ds
>>290570368>Endo would lose way more readers than he gained because Anya's funny 5-year-old behavior is like 75% of SxF's hook. That's not really true of readers. In fact, Anya-centric chapters tend to underperform the adult chapters in both engagement and views. However, she's definitely a huge part of the series in terms of merchandising and her current design and behavior is a big part of that.
>>290570745>Anya-centric chapters tend to underperform the adult chapters in both engagement and viewsSchool chapters do because the Eden supporting cast is weaker. The family chapters with Anya interacting with Loid and Yor are usually the most popular ones.
>>290570140Actual Becky sexo
>>290562599Yor isnt compromisedShe is just a retard and ends up taking the marriage thing too seriously. I bet she already forgot why they got married in the first place.Even the lewd stuff is slowly progressing thanks to her coworkers filling her head with woman shit.
>>290567750kek
>>290571014>>290570140What age would Anya and Becky lose their virginities?
>>290560655Cute chapter, thanks!>>290561682Between Gympie and Loid's expertise they should be safe, but don't try it at home.
>>290570677>Damian will say no to this
>>290570901This is hypothetically true, but difficult to gauge because every true family chapter also has heavy LoidYor in it and shipping is well-known to be what really brings people to SxF. Even with Anya, her most popular chapters are the ones with increased focus on Damianya. For reference, family chapters with all three of them, and thus unavoidable shipping, always do well. However, chapters where it's Anya and only one parent tend to be more average.
>>290571018Yor has managed to avoid leaking Garden secrets for like 15 years. She's anything but a retard when it comes to her work, she's just autistic. Incredible knowledge/skill in one hyperspecialized area and completely lost at everything else.
>>290571259>Anya gets tag-teamed by Ewen and Emile while bossman dithers
>>290571018She's an interesting parallel to Becky, in a way. Both have a yearning for The Great Love Affair, neither have the first idea of what it realistically involves for adults and consequently rely on cliched tv shows and overheard gossip.
I think sex with Handler.

I bought this Loid/Yor doujin because I wanted to see some vanilla icha-icha. And while it is vanilla icha-icha you can tell a woman drew this one.Since Loid is an aggressive sweet talker that whispers sweet nothings in Yor's ear as he uses her as a fleshlight. The lovey dovey aspect takes a backseat so Loid can get off.https://litter.catbox.moe/jbebcabj4zfu7p1d.jpghttps://litter.catbox.moe/kv9miqs7hjoc7v3k.jpg
I also bought this one. This artist regularly puts out lovey dovey icha-icha for these two, and that's what I prefer and why I will continue to support them. Also, there's an attempt at keeping the tone and humor of the manga which I like.>Loid is overworked>Yor wants him to rely on her>so she gives him a massage which leads to sweaty icha icha>and Loid is even more dead the next day because they went too hard>end bookAnother good book release from them. >>290560385>>290560432>>290560478The more I think about it, the only person who could probably dispel Damian's worries about his family is Anya. She could just tell him how they feel about him.

>>290587213She has to actually concentrate on it at least a bit I think. She isn't passively pulling in literally everybody inside a radius.
>>290587591>She isn't passively pulling in literally everybody inside a radius. There have been instances of her doing exactly this. Her parents have even had to move her because she was getting overwhelmed by reading too many thoughts at once and she couldn't shut it off. However, there have also been plenty of examples of her not reading someone's mind that she could've. Truth is, it's just not that consistent. Axeman has her read minds when he needs her to and not when he doesn't.
>>290587451Eye candy
>>290588216The use of the sparkles when she decides to read a mind implies that she is able to consciously choose to do it, which in turn means she isn't always doing it. I've long assumed the crowds (and strong emotions) issue is that when there are enough thoughts within her range (and especially if they have intense feelings behind them), they push past whatever keeps her from normally constantly hearing everyone's thoughts. She also seems to passively pick up on thoughts that interest her, like when she noticed Loid in disguise in the school early in the series. I might liken that to how you won't really be aware of a background conversation, but if someone says your name or you hear a familiar voice you'll still pick up on it.
>>290587451Paperwork?
>>290559873>>290561001ironically, it feels like you yourselves are overthinking it as a messge to readers
>>290588558The sparkles are just a visual shorthand to inform the reader that she's doing it. We've never been led to believe this is her choosing to do it, nor that she can turn the ability off. In fact, your second paragraph is completely contradictory to that idea.I think a better analogy would be to say that she can't turn off her ability to hear thoughts the same way normal people can't turn off the ability to hear others talking around them. But it is true that she does just tune others out sometimes, and it would make sense that it's harder to do so when their thoughts are screaming.
>>290576673>>290584359>>290587563would, just saying
>>290588763>We've never been led to believe this is her choosing to do it,What about in mission 10? We twice see Anya saying she is going to read someone's mind before proceeding to do so (namely trying to get Loid or Yor to help with her homework). That certainly sounds like she is choosing to do it.
>>290588904I take that as her trying to focus on someone's voice in particular. Imagine you walk into a city and you have many people talking around you. You're not part of any of these conversations so you're not really paying attention and their voices all blur together in your mind. However, you're really interested in what one guy is doing so you start zeroing in on his voice to try to figure it out. I think it makes sense to interpret this to be the way Anya is all the time. The thoughts always there, but she's not consciously trying to process them until she is.
New illustration from Axeman. Probably his best one in a while.

>>290558571I’ve watched the movie and the three seasons of the anime so far. I know the undercover agent at the end of season 3 was from SSS country, but do we ever get a clear villain or antagonist from Loid’s country? The closest I’ve seen are some warmongers in his flashbacks and his antagonistic relationship with his dad as a kid (though his dad did have some valid points—like not hoping for war—which Loid had to learn through hardship). I’d be really interested to see how Loid would handle someone from his own country going rogue and trying to start a conflict.
>>290591627they haven't even introduced the primary antagonist for the series yet lolDonovan is obviously not the final boss
>>290591627Axeman has avoided/ignored showing anything about Westalis other than it is a wealthier nation than Ostania, or at least it's in a better state after the war than Ostania. You get some faceless director at the start of the manga watching over the Eden proceedings, Franky talking about who really started the war, and that's it. And the only vaguely questionable assignment Twilight has ever been on since the series started was him stealing the truth serum prototype. If Axeman wanted to pivot to Westalis being the real bad guys all along he's doing a bad job of setting that up. Of course there are also other aspects to consider like the old Empire, Ayys, or the mad scientists that answer to Desmond. But it's all very underdeveloped.
I want a chapter where Loid meets Yor’s coworkers again and he wins them over.>Wow, Yor’s husband is a really nice guy. Really hot, too. She sure did knock it out of the park bagging him. Not sure what circumstances could lead to this, or what it could lead to, but I’m sure something funny could come from it. Jealous Yor, maybe?
>>290593133>Not sure what circumstances could lead to thisJust do that pic related. They get Loid to come pick her up because they think she's too drunk to get home by herself. But drunk Yor decides now is a perfect time to build her couples tolerance so Loid has to stick around to convince her to leave.
Whenever there is a Anya/Damian chapter I feel the urge to read the Therappy doujin

>>290595474From the top of my head,>"the adventure continues" type of ending where none of the characters secrets get revealed to each other and Strix continues with an indefinite conclusion>Anya gets given back to her still-alive mother>Damian's family gets irreparably broken in the end>dual loyalty ending where Garden, WISE, and SSS allow the Forgers to keep existing instead of the family choosing each other over their organizationsThe family splitting up in any way would be bad, but a major character death wouldn't ruin it so long as it's not anyone directly related to the two main families. Sylvia, Fiona, and Franky get named a lot as possible deaths that wouldn't break the ending. But there isn't much that would truly ruin this because Axeman would have to deliberately go out of his way to make it happen.
>>290586680>You'd need to dry it upWhat the hell are you talking about? You can use fresh chamomile just fine.
>>290590155Given how often his schedule slips, I always wonder how much help he actually has in making the manga. >>290601380>dual loyalty ending where Garden, WISE, and SSS allow the Forgers to keep existing instead of the family choosing each other over their organizationsI don’t see the problem with this at all. I really like the idea of Loid and Yor continuing to operate as spy and assassin post-reveal, balancing their jobs with their marriage, without WISE or Garden either knowing about their relationship status or really caring because it doesn’t have an impact on their effectiveness. The rest would be terrible I agree, but I don’t want them to give up their jobs. That would be boring.
>>290601659nyo
>>290601974Not that guy, but this does not work at all because Loid and Yor are on opposite sides. Shopkeeper might not want war with Westalis, but he sure as anything doesn't want their spies on his home turf either. There's a reason they go after traitors.>or really caring because it doesn’t have an impact on their effectivenessShopkeeper would definitely care if his operative was sleeping with an enemy spy. McMahon can't even tell his civilian wife and you think Shopkeeper would allow Twilight to know?
>>290601974I figure the series has to end with Anya grown up fulfilling some sort of peacekeeper role where due to her powers and being raised by the greatest spy and assassin she can basically manipulate the nations into being peaceful. Damian likely helping her fulfil that role as a potential leader in Ostania.
>>290601974>>290602171I'm still all in on Anya being descended from royalty and that ends up being the key to Westalis-Ostania Reunification
>>290602171This sounds retarded. I can't ever imagine Anya as a politician. That's not her at all. Also not sure how being raised by a spy and an assassin would set someone up for that.
>>290601974It's the dual loyalty aspect that ruins it for me. It's one thing if Yor and Loid, and possibly Yuri as well, decide that their first priority will always be their family over their secret jobs and thus they decide to keep the reality of their relationships with each other a secret behind their organizations' backs. It still feels like an incomplete ending, but at least the family would be solidified to some extent there. It's another thing to have WISE, Garden, and more unbelievably, the SSS aware that they're loyal to their families and decide to let it be due to their previous performance because it's such an obvious conflict of interest to their organizations, all of which prioritize their own interests above that of their individual members. And even that allowance is questionable since we know that despite Shopkeeper allowing McMahon to retire or return to his own wife, McMahon himself tells Yor that as long as her loyalty is to Garden above all else, she won't have any problems. And Yor also knows that she's indulging in her personal desires by remaining with the Forgers in spite of the future conflicts she'll have to face down the line due to the lies she's keeping for the sake of having both her job and family. We're already at this exact point for her character, so it feels like not going further would be leaving it hanging and thus incomplete. Extend that to Loid and Yuri, and you see how this would also feel like a non-ending and potential powder keg that's always looming over the characters' otherwise happy ending.
>>290600976Get yourself an autistic wife
>>290602152>Not that guy, but this does not work at all because Loid and Yor are on opposite sides. Not necessarily. People keep saying this but I just don’t buy it. Shopkeeper seems more loyal to a version of Ostania that doesn’t exist anymore, some kind of empire that ceased to exist long before he was born. No set political ideology. >Shopkeeper would definitely care if his operative was sleeping with an enemy spy. Then Yor doesn’t tell Shopkeeper. Guess she’ll have to learn to get better at being independent and not asking him permission before she decides to start driving or whatever. >McMahon can't even tell his civilian wife and you think Shopkeeper would allow Twilight to know? They do that with all their agents. None of them are allowed to breathe a word about what they do to anybody, under any circumstances, understandably. Not just because of the nature of their job, but also to preserve the secrecy of Garden’s existence. But Loid is going to find out Garden’s real once the identity reveal happens, and they don’t seem like the type of people to just let their best operative walk away. They seem more like a street gang or the mafia, where anybody who tries to leave ends up killed. I don’t think retirement is in the cards for Yor. Garden just doesn’t seem like they’ll ever let her go willingly. She’s their best asset.
>>290602152>McMahon can't even tell his civilian wife and you think Shopkeeper would allow Twilight to know? One thing, but McMahon gave me the impression that while he can't/won't tell his wife the truth, her finding out wouldn't be the end of her or his work. That is, he states he hopes she would stay with him if she found out, a hope that wouldn't be possible if Garden does not allow spouses to know at all.Course, McMahon's civilian wife is a very different matter from a foreign spy, so one result need not apply to another.
>>290602504>Shopkeeper seems more loyal to a version of Ostania that doesn’t exist anymore, some kind of empire that ceased to exist long before he was born. No set political ideology. With all due respect, anon, Axeman can't make this much more obvious than he already has. They aren't loyal to any political party, but they are loyal to Ostania and explicitly anti-Westalis. The dead empire is dead. You can't betray it. But you can betray the nation that rose from it. Do you really think the accountants at City Hall that they're going after are selling secrets about the dead empire? I agree that they're loyal to that, but I think it's wrong to think that's to the exclusion of Ostania.>Then Yor doesn’t tell Shopkeeper. The other anon already explained better than I can why this is a problem.>I don’t think retirement is in the cards for Yor. Garden just doesn’t seem like they’ll ever let her go willingly.I agree with this mostly, though I think Shopkeeper or whoever is in charge then would let her retire from active duty if she reached McMahon's age. Basically same deal McMahon has. But Garden will still own her just as it owns McMahon. She'd need to be loyal and subservient forever.
>>290567750Caught in the spider's web...
>>290602398I think Yuri is an underdiscussed complication in the ending, even if the Forgers run. If he eventually finds out Loid is Twilight, and I pray he does, keeping that secret makes him a traitor and that's one of those overhanging powder kegs you mentioned. Yuri never finding out may lead to the happiest ending, but that feels unsatisfying to me.
>>290603554Yuri loves his sister more than his country.
>>290603609Unfortunately, the SSS don't. If it's found out that Yuri either helped Twilight escape or is keeping him hidden, he can expect to be tortured to death or used as bait to force his brother-in-law back out. I don't expect this to ever actually happen, but it's one of those worries that would linger in the back of your mind even in a happy ending. Unless Yuri goes with them, of course, but I don't see that happening now that Chloe is around.>inb4 Chloe dies
>>290604320You chomp Yor, you get chomped back.

>>290604404Anya in my bed. She's gonna have two children.
>>290604505Especially Loids child she would have.
>>290559464I need her to look at me like that.
>>290604532She wouldn't share Loid with a child that could take away his attention, so she would never give him one.
Donovan is gonna overwrite Anya's personality
>>290603554It's probably because he's not living with the Forgers and Axeman doesn't let him pop in as much as he could, even though he can be used to set up plenty of chapters that involve the whole family. But he's still Loid's actual rival and arch nemesis, in addition to being his brother-in-law through Yor and thus another relative of the Forger family. And like the rest of them, he's also keeping his own secret separate from his public identity. So it's surprising he's not considered more in the ending given how much importance he has.I feel like the only possible way for them to all keep doing their clandestine work while keeping their loyalty to their families is for Westalis and Ostania to be unified in the end and for the organizations to be dissolved or consolidated into a single one that works for the sole purpose of preserving the peace of the united country. And even that's somewhat unstable given that in-story, Garden has survived the fall of an old empire and at least one regime change, still operating outside the capacity of the official government in the present.
>>290560655>another small blush from TwilightIt's sorta odd to see him display non-professional feelings after Axeman halted all development for him for the longest time. These blushes of his were non-existent, and rare at best after the bench date, but within this last year he's now unknowingly in love with his wife and blushing at the real gestures she does for him. Even at the end of the Wheeler arc he was wearing his polite Loid Forger mask while talking to Yor.That popularity poll must have kicked Axeman in the rear and forced him to move Loid along as a character. To be less ambiguous and outright explain to the readers what is going on, and you can't be more unsubtle than the SSS grilling him about his feelings and pointing out the lack of hesitation and lies in his answer.
So handler is gonna off herself once the mission is finished right and peace is secured, she deserves to see her family.
>>290605312Her family would want her to live a happy life.

Every problem they have just...conveniently goes away. And for what? So Loid and Yor can continue doing jobs that have been provably terrible for them and any chance at Anya having the normal life they were denied goes out the window?
>>290601582>Chloe's only cucking Fiona from the fans' perspective, since Yuri doesn't even know who Fiona is. A metaphysical mogging...
>>290605210I feel like Loid has always developed in leaps. He had a ton of development at the beginning and then basically nothing until the tennis arc where he got something substantial. And then next to nothing again until the Wheeler arc where he again displayed a huge leap. Getting nothing until the TV arc and then being revealed to be in love with his wife just follows that trend.I don't know why Axeman writes him this way. He obviously can do gradual development since he does it for Yor.
>>290605210>Even at the end of the Wheeler arc he was wearing his polite Loid Forger mask while talking to Yor.You're kind of ignoring how the sight of Yor's smile had him collapse to his knees because it relaxed and relieved him so much (with him questioning why he felt that way), as well as the mission before this having him endanger himself and bend protocol for the sake of Yor's feelings. I wouldn't call that a "halt" to his development.
>>290605673Given how he has described Loid's development and how his view of it is quite different from that of many fans, each "leap" we see is apparently supposed to be just one of many doors in his heart opening.
>>290605422Moreover, Westalis and Ostania have had such different cultures for so many generations that I can't see them willingly merging. At best I can see the cold war era ending, not something as drastic as the countries merging. Heck, to my knowledge we have no reference yet to Ostania and Westalis ever having been one country.
>>290605210It is nice to see Axeman lay out clearly how to read Loid in the story instead of just leaving it up to the readers to decide what was going on in his head. Wheeler arc is atrocious in hindsight because of how oblivious he was about his situation while the audience assumed he made bigger steps than what actually happened. In fact I wonder if the reason why Axeman doesn't lean into him unconsciously acting like a father is because Anya is capable of reading minds, which is a shame since she would likely read his thoughts while Loid is actually feeling completely different.>>290605673>>290605769I think for Loid it's less that he develops in leaps and more that his develop is more visible to the audience and the other characters than it is himself. He doesn't make much of the fact that he shared a bit of his real past to Yor, but the audience knows. He doesn't understand why he collapses in relief at seeing Yor's face, but the readers get it. Everyone who sees the way he acts towards Yor can tell he's in love with her, but it's a part of their cover story to him.In fact one of the worst things Axeman could do is have an identity reveal and have Loid say that it was all part of this mission because at least some part of him still believes that. It would be insane if he didn't fully realize how deeply he's fallen for his family before that.
>>290605980**his development is more visible
>>290605769Nah it's because those were brief moments of weakness compared to the longer more drawn out bench scene. Or the ending of the cruise where he carried his sleeping family. Those two moments were real till the end. His real self seeping out to replace the fake persona he's wearing. You can excuse him getting back to work after getting shot because of course you have to, but after he collapsed at the entrance of his house that moment of weakness didn't remain. Yor was venting about her troubles but outside of that shoujo vision this smile wasn't genuine. He was back to work and being his overly polite and distant fake self.I'm not saying he didn't feel anything. I'm saying that the Wheeler arc didn't allow any genuine feelings to remain on display like other arcs did.He was on guard and professional, for obvious reasons, despite the real conversation Yor was having with him. Which makes it unlike the bench date ending.
>>290605312no, she is Aunty Sylvia
>>290605980Loid developing in leaps and his development being more visible to the reader than himself aren't mutually exclusive.>>290606079You're being really reductive. Loid fucked up his whole mission over not even Yor's life but her feelings, an action that could've doomed his whole agency. That didn't go away afterwards just because we didn't see him in that type of situation again. This was a major development even if Loid's retarded and didn't realize why he was doing it.
>>290606185I still wouldn't say he develops in leaps simply because the big moments that get pointed out aren't the end all be all of his loosening up around his family, even if the smaller ones aren't always as dire. His guilt at doubting Yor led to him not prying when she practiced cooking for the family; his yearning for Yor on the cruise led to him fondly carrying her and Anya back despite the initial embarrassment, and his deep trust in Yor lets him briefly idle by her side without thinking about his worries for once. The biggest problem he has is obviously that most of these moments involve Yor but rarely ever are about Anya anymore, although he did get a nice parenting moment when she asked him about Henderson in the scandal arc.
>>290606634>The biggest problem he has is obviously that most of these moments involve Yor but rarely ever are about Anya anymoreThat's cause Anya became a roommate that can't feed herself instead of a curious child like she was at the start of the manga. The domestic stuff is implied instead of being shown, and Anya stopped caring about Spy and Assassin stuff which limits her interactions with her parents even more. So there's little opportunity for the parents to act like parents.
>>290606634I don't feel like Loid really has small developments that meaningfully build up to the big ones. For example, the Loid of the tennis arc was so unconcerned with Yor's feelings that when he suspected she was in love with him, he immediately sought to exploit her, despite it being completely unnecessary and for minimal gain. It was a complete disregard of her feelings and what this would do to her when he left.Come the Wheeler arc, this has been flipped and Yor's feelings now matter more to him than an extremely high stakes mission that could result in the deaths or capture of himself and numerous allies. He showed light moments of fondness for her between the tennis arc and the Wheeler arc, but nothing that actually built up this level of change. There's a reason everyone's jaws were on the floor when that arc happened. Hell, think back just a few months ago to the TV arc and the SSS party. People were shocked by the revelation that Loid was in love with Yor because we had only just gotten the first solid hint that he was romantically interested a few chapters before.
>>290595474>fall of the berlin wall type of thing>"as far as I know, effective immediately">east and west reunite peacefullyall of that work was for nothing lol
>pretends to be married for the mission >falls in love with his fake wifeIs Twilight stupid?
>>290607218Not really. Twilight’s mission isn’t just to investigate Donovan Desmond’s intentions and whether he really wants war as feared, but overall to prevent war from breaking out between Westalis and Ostania. So while a peaceful West/East unification ending would feel like a letdown for many readers, Twilight would be ecstatic. The guy just really doesn’t want another war to happen in his lifetime, he’s seen and lost enough to it.

>>290605354...with ME
>>290596314Where did Loid get the Pox?
>>290607800People get addicted to drama. I really enjoyed reading a book called Phoenix Squadron, even though it is, essentially, a book about nothing. The British Fleet Air Arm dissuade a war on a then-British dependency by simply doing a few passes up and down the beaches for an hour or two, thus proving that modern jets were in range to assist, and as the antagonist's air force consisted of a few cast-off P51 Mustangs...The fascination is more about the process of how they got there, seeing as they had to figure out jury-rigged air to air refuelling to get there from the mid-Atlantic in the early 70's. Very absorbing, but cinematically dull; aircraft take off from carrier, fly for a bit, aircraft come back. But a stunningly successful mission nonetheless. And that's exactly the sort of mission WISE want.
>>290606896>the Loid of the tennis arc was so unconcerned with Yor's feelings that when he suspected she was in love with him, he immediately sought to exploit her, despite it being completely unnecessary and for minimal gainI think this is just his overall character and the apparent contradictions that arise from his belief that all of his actions must serve his mission. Even in that example, he's not completely unaffected by the idea of Yor having feelings for him, but he immediately reframed it within his mission objectives because he doesn't process information on an emotional level.Even in the last arc, he was unconcerned about tranquilizing Yor if it meant getting them away from the SSS quickly to preserve his cover, and once they leave it's not even worth an afterthought because Yor recognizing Curtis was more pressing to him.So she incongruity seems like the result of him lacking the minor moments of self-reflection that other characters have, plus his overall lack of awareness about the depth of his feelings. When he can't regularly take stock of his own emotions, it's harder to notice the small changes and decide what matters or doesn't for him.
>>290591627Oh right there was a third season, anything that had any significant expansion on the source material? of the anime I only bothered to watch the castle chapter because I was told they extended it a lot and the chapter where Becky losses to Yor because I really wanted to see it
>>290606896>>290610310Further, the Loid of the Tennis Arc also states being around Yor "throws him off", and features him confiding actual details of his childhood to her. That he was willing to try to seduce her doesn't invalidate other aspects of how he behaved, it just means his feelings and sense of duty are in conflict with each other and not always logical.Endo did a really good job of displaying this more recently when Twilight tries to address that he does have feelings for Yor and his thoughts immediately start spiraling just trying to identity them.
>>290606097Ain't Anya a little young to be birthing babies.
>>290561853He must have gotten moss confused with lichen. Rookie mistake.
>>290611371Yeah I agree, and I think that scene did a lot to explain even his past character writing up to that point since it clearly illustrated his thought process and the way his own feelings have escaped his notice.Plus within the arc itself, Axeman threw in the escalation of Twilight's efforts to keep himself off camera, which suddenly got tossed to the side when he found out Yor would have to kiss someone else. The contradictions aren't him going back on character development, but rather the way that Twilight keeps misinterpreting own feelings despite their growing intensity. No matter how it's sliced, there is no non-emotional explanation for his need to keep Yor away from other men in a romantic context, even in a fake scenario.
>>290611282• The Currency/Counterfeiting Plot & Yuri: The overarching investigation into the massive counterfeiting scheme finally came to a head, giving Loid even more justification for being constantly swamped with missions. Plus, Yuri's suspicion of Loid kept ticking upward, even if he's still nowhere near figuring out he's Twilight.
>>290610310>>290611371There is a world of difference between tranquilizing Yor to get them out of a situation that could result in both of them being tortured to death and exploiting her feelings unnecessarily to make his job a little easier. The Loid of today would never treat her so callously.
I hope the Bladerunner poster got a girlfriend
>>290615201Twilight set out with the purpose of smoothing things over with Yor just in case she was trying to leave him in order to keep her SSS brother off his case in the tennis arc though. Honey trapping her was an option for that, and his stated reason for not initiating anything similar since is due to his continued fear of her slapping him around for it. And he could've done so when she asked him about their marriage at the end of the elk arc, but he thought up other covert options to make her stay instead. Did he not consider doing so because he cares about her feelings now, or because he fears her reaction as he stated? Ultimately, it isn't clear. All this to say, I don't think that the extent he's willing to use any spy tactics on her is much of an indicator of his development as he contradicts himself all the time. Instead, he's had other characters notice his underlying emotions, and the growing frequency of those moments is a better gauge for how far along his development has come. The last arc had them continually thrown at the reader, making it impossible to ignore. >>290605980
you people are putting way too much thought into a boring pair that was only created to get money from shipfags and yumes
>>290616577Nope
>>290616442>Twilight set out with the purpose of smoothing things over with Yor just in case she was trying to leave him in order to keep her SSS brother off his case in the tennis arc though.Where? Because I just reread it and all he says is that he needs to clear up a misunderstanding Nightfall caused. He is worried that she's going to leave, but he realizes by her sperging that she's not upset with their arrangement, she's jealous of Nightfall. Leaving is no longer a concern when he realizes she likes him and him trying to capitalize on her feelings is all him trying to put himself in a better position than he was in at Yor's expense.I feel like you're coping super hard to ignore character progression and I don't understand why. Loid was much more willing to abuse Yor's trust and feelings early on than he is now. He might not be doing it consciously, but he does take her well-being into account most of the time these days. Even when he briefly considered replacing her in 120, it was with the context that he thought she was unhappy in their arrangement.
>>290617023Actually, I'm rereading this and Loid wasn't afraid she was going to leave. He was thinking SHE was afraid that he was going to end it.
>>290616442>or because he fears her reaction as he stated?I thought it was pretty clear that he doesn't "flirt" with her because he knows he'll get his ass beat and she doesn't like him romantically. According to him she made it clear she doesn't see him that way (when he got kicked in the chin), and making her uncomfortable with physical contact will result in a violent reaction. And that's why I think he hasn't tried anything since. Not because of feelings necessarily. But because he thinks that isn't an option anymore and would just make things worse. "Why continuously come onto Yor if she has made it clear that's not what she wants?" That train of thought. That's why Yor has to initialize all the skinship and why those hints of deeper feelings go ignored by Twilight. He already ruled out that it's not love. If Twilight suspected that she did in fact love Loid Forger I could see him try the honey trap again. Would he hesitate because of feelings? Possibly. But at the moment none of that is currently on the table so his spy tactics need to try alternate angles.
>>290617023At the beginning of the chapter. The whole point of the night out at the bar is to give Yor anything she likes so that she doesn't tell Yuri what happened or just go to the SSS like the neighbors were implying. And I don't know how we got here, but I've been trying to argue the opposite: Loid's development does happen with more gradual strokes between the bigger watershed moments, but because he always contradicts himself, it can be more useful to look at quantity over quality for him.>Even when he briefly considered replacing her in 120, it was with the context that he thought she was unhappy in their arrangement. The reason he considers the replacement itself is because he's afraid she suspects he's been lying about needing her for Anya's education. Before, he always shot down Nightfall's proposition automatically, but the threat to his cover took priority in that moment. Once Handler sets him straight he course corrects to continue working on his relationship with Yor, but since he didn't do anything other than make her a nice dinner after that, it looks like that lapse was primarily his self-preservation as a spy. It doesn't negate all the times he justified maintaining his relationship with Yor before, which is what I'm getting at in trying to describe his character with quantity over quality. I probably sound contradictory myself.
>>290559596Becky is right
>>290618364>The reason he considers the replacement itself is because he's afraid she suspects he's been lying about needing her for Anya's education. The panel ends with him worrying about Yor having complaints, which paints it as being at least partially about her happiness.Anyway, we very well may be arguing in circles from standpoints that aren't technically all that different. I do still hold that he develops mostly in leaps and that Axeman could afford to do a better job bridging those together, but I never meant to disagree that there's some stuff in between. However, I see a lot of these little moments as reinforcements of a previous door he opened rather material building towards the next one. I don't think there's much of anything between the tennis arc and Wheeler arc that showcases Loid even considering putting Yor over the mission. At most he's just not an asshole, which you could argue as progress but I feel to be insufficient. However, after the Wheeler arc, he has numerous instances of prioritizing and being a little too attached to her. Reinforcing that door again. What he doesn't have is evidence of romantic attraction outside of maybe 94, which is what I'd expect to see to build towards the next door that got opened in the TV arc.
>>290607400>dubsYes.
>>290570515I wonder how relevant Damian will be to the ending. it's hard to imagine in concrete terms, but Damian is such a strong parallel to Anya that I feel like he'll be involved somehow.
>>290558816She's gonna cuck Yor
>>290621934Reminder that Fiona would rather Loid work himself to death than receive kindness from Yor because her ego can't handle the fact that she was brutally mogged by an autistic office clerk.
>>290579561It's her turn to be on the cover anyway.
>>290619048Yeah, at this point these are mostly just minor details that don't change much depending on what ends up being true or not of him. I think it's just that whenever Axeman writes out something more concrete for Loid, it makes me go back to reevaluate how I saw him before, whether I missed something or not, so I'm constantly updating my view on him as it continues and how previous moments that I might have dismissed before could've been Axeman being too subtle with how Loid was reacting to his family. I do agree that until recently, he hadn't given readers enough direction on how to interpret Loid's character.I guess if it does hold more true that Loid reinforces prior developments then it could mean that there could finally be some focus on physical attraction between Loid and Yor. The complete absence of it throughout their odd courtship probably contributed to confusion surrounding their relationship, but given how we're going on what, three and a half years of teasing a welcome home kiss between them? That might finally come up more to get some resolution or at the very least teasing from Loid's side finally.
>>290626023>then it could mean that there could finally be some focus on physical attraction between Loid and Yor.There was that time he complimented her figure when suggesting she buy a certain pair of pants. Though I guess pointing out someone is physically attractive is not necessarily the same as admitting to feeling physical attraction.
>>290614138Ah cool i'll give it a look thanks
the truth is, [REDACTED] fell in love from the start.

>>290626023>there could finally be some focus on physical attraction between Loid and YorMaybe, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was another door either. Yor is a bombshell, but Loid's attraction to her seems like it's been mostly emotional so far. That's what I'd expect to see more of for the time being. Though I agree that the kiss is way overdue.Yor did suspect he was possessive of her in the TV arc so maybe this would be a good time to bring out Hemlock and his ambiguous crush. Though I think Axeman would have to be careful with that since it risks retreading the aforementioned arc.
>>290571503Emile is a fat fuck who only cares about food, and the only thing Ewen can make hard is his hair.>>290575219That is the author's fault for writing a story that led to nothing
>>290626384He did call her pretty when they first met, and it likely wasn't a complete lie. But it seems like he was always viewing her objectively rather than anyway that was indicative of his own preferences so far.>>290629878I'm honestly tired of the jealousy plots being used as romantic kindling, since even Damian and Anya got hit with it somewhat. I think the TV arc was a pretty balanced way to handle it, where Loid wasn't jealous over anyone in particular, but he didn't like the idea of Yor even faking being physically intimate with another man, to the point that he wanted to insert himself in the role despite the various risks he'd have to take to do it.It was a shame that Yor got dolled up after not trying to put effort into her appearance and it got ignored by him anyway. There are just a lot of different ways to approach it for them, which is why the lack of any physical attraction this far in stands out.
>>290631380you cannot convince me that [redacted] didn't fall in love at first sight, Twilight made a split decision to ask her after he had already rejected her and thousands of other women. It was not a calculated move of the worlds best spy, it was an emotional move.
>>290586680>>290601391Yep, from the leaves, flowers, and stems it's likely just chamomile. It's a bit funny that Gympie would suggest something so common but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.>flower meanings are "enduring adversity" and "strength from adversity">comes from how chamomile grows by creeping along the ground and becoming hardier as it's trampled upon>one of the most well-known plants for herbal tea>good for calming nerves, promoting restful sleep, inducing sweat, and aiding digestionI wonder what Anya's plant is based on since "nortsweet" doesn't seem to be a colloquial name for a real plant. To me Anya's plant resembles either golden lace or eupatorium, or some made-up combination of the two. They're both used more as diuretics though.
>>290632134He was cautiously evaluating her before Anya forced the matter, then Yor made the first move by asking him to pose as her boyfriend. At that point he just figured it was a lucky coincidence and rolled with it.

What will be the next step Loid and Yor take in their relationship?
>>290635673welcome home kiss or we will storm shueisha offices until they make it happen
>>290633989early Yor a cute
>>290631380>I'm honestly tired of the jealousy plots being used as romantic kindlingThere have been three at this point (four if you count Hemlock, though that never got resolved) which does seem like overkill. But I get it. They're used because they're effective, especially for getting over that initial hurdle. Damian didn't need one, but Loid probably did. Or at least something else on the same level. He's so stubborn and blind to his own emotions that he has to be challenged or called out to progress.
>>290634206Sucks for him, but it's almost impressive that being an idol fan is deadly serious to him.
The longer it takes for the welcome home kiss to happen, the more likely it is that Twilight reacts like pic related when it does happen.
