Imu's powers stopped being cool after he left Gunko. Like it was awesome seeing him pull out a shotgun because that's never been done before, hard to think any major villain who even uses guns, and it maimed Dorry and Broggy to boot. Seeing him pull out a bunch of swords and shit isn't interesting though, especially when they do nothing. Also maybe I'm just putting too much emphasis on the devil motif but I kind of expected him to do some wilder things with his magic, even something generically demonic like flaming skulls and making the sky rain blood would be cool, but all we have is black fire that doesn't really do anything considering Sanji's all fine.

The issue here, we the audience know this is literally the ONE fight we know Luffy can't win. Anything extra feels drawn out and hollow, because it won't amount to anything, at least not yet. I understand that, despite everything, Oda is still writing for children, and to a child this is the hypest shit ever not thinking twice about narrative and just see Luffy fighting really hard against the bad guy, but for anyone older, fittingly, we're like Gaban, knowing how fruitless this fight is. I think Imu is mostly blind and wholly reliant on sensing people's haki + being guided by his maki homies to fight. That's how Hajruding sucker bunched him and Usopp keeps sneaking up on him. Their haki doesn't stand out the way Luffy and Loki's do so they fade into the background. Its also why he needed extra large sized bounty posters to look at back during the reverie

Gonna he honest.Elbaf has sucked hard compared to Egghead. None of the new characters of this setting have been interesting. Loki is just a repackage of Kidd. Dorry and Brogy have done jack shit besides be made into obstacles. The setting of Elbaf being a tree with little viking villages after all the hype for the past 20 years has been a waste. It should have been a grand kingdom of mythological Asgard with a grand city scape of towering statues and buildings. Imu and the Holy Knights have had zero build up or impact since arriving. Being treated as pests, rather than endgame opponents. Egghead had some of the best character developments for non Straw Hats, with the Gorosei having an apocalyptic build up when they arrived. Treated as a unstoppable demonic presence you can't stop, only run from. Kuma, Bonney, and Vegapunk all having standout performances. Even the satellites were fun. What has Elbaf given us? Some literal who little shits who get captured. Road who is a spaghetti pocket spilling pushover. Gerd whose only big scene was getting her fingers cut off. And Gaban being a repackaged Rayleigh. Loki has sucked, and so has Imu. He has been utterly wasted. Oda should have just double downed on Gunko, and give her more power ups and saved him for later.
