See? They’re all wearing wedding rings, even Setsuna who’s SUPPOSED to be in love with Endymion. Literally all the Senshi are yuribaited in some way in the manga.

Yuritroon bait love triangle.

Why are they all kissing their rings that they’re wearing on their wedding fingers then?
>>

That blog author isn't in the industry.

>>290721983
Why do the mew mews kiss their pendants when they transform? It's just for style, fuck off
>>

She's literally a voice actress who graduated from Nichinare and everything she writes is about the seiyuu industry. She didn't come up with the phrase 百合営業. She's writing about an existing phenomenon.
>>
>>290721239
I actually really like her. She's cool.
>>
>>290722160
I really doubt that bro because most of what she says is objectively wrong. Nobody man likes a woman who doesn't want him
>>
>>290722201
>No man likes a woman who doesn't want him
Beta incel herbivore otaku cucks do, and that’s exactly who the yuri genre is for. Naoko even said in an interview she designed the Senshi to specifically appeal to that audience.
>>
>>290722245
No, she said she designed them to be dominant women.
Femdom is completely different from cuckoldry. The polar opposite in fact. The dominant woman having the deepest love for the man is an integral part of femdom.
No yuri work was ever popular because women who don't like men aren't popular. Just like woke shit in games and series in the west, this shit is pushed by the ruling class, not the people.
>>
>>290722201
Sure, you can believe whatever you want. It doesn't matter what evidence you're shown if you'll just dismiss anything that doesn't support your worldview. The fact of the matter is, Japanese men who are idol fans are the ones who came up with and talk about business yuri. There's literally a radio show by two female seiyuus that has a business yuri segment.
https://www.weblio.jp/content/%E4%B8%AD%E5%B3%B6%E7%94%B1%E8%B2%B4%E3%83%BB%E6%AD%A6%E7%94%B0%E7%BE%85%E6%A2%A8%E6%B2%99%E5%A4%9A%E8%83%A1%E3%81%AE%E3%81%8B%E3%82%8F%E3%81%84%E3%81%84%E3%83%A9%E3%82%B8%E3%82%AA
How are you going to cope out of this one?
>>
>>290722396
Lesbian porn is more popular than femdom. If anything is pushed by the ruling class, it's femdom.
>>
>>290722619
They shouldn't have listened to the small minority of cucked otaku who want this shit then.

>>290722644
Lesbian porn is only popular among terminally porn addicted tech illiterate retards.
Femdom outright does not exist in western porn. Feminist bullshit is the antithesis of femdom.
>>
>>290722727
Before you said it doesn't happen at all. Now you're saying okay it does happen but it's only pandering to a small minority. Wonderful moving of the goalposts. If I showed you the prevalence of yuri shipping in anime fanart and the like to show that it's not an insignificant amount of otaku, I'm sure you'll have some other cope to move the goalpost again. That's how it works because you don't know shit about the industry and if you see anything that doesn't align with your beliefs, you'll just make something up to explain it away post hoc.
>>290722727
>Femdom outright does not exist in western porn. Feminist bullshit is the antithesis of femdom.
Both of these statements are outrageously wrong. Are you telling me you're literally unaware of any western femdom porn or is this some no true scotsman fallacy where you don't consider it "real" femdom? And you're also unaware of how much feminist writing and articles promote femdom and how femdom is promoted in the media with safe "dommy mommies" and girlbosses or whatever while liking submissive females is being pushed as "toxic masculinity" or "predatory". Of course they would love this idea. It's putting women in power and subverting the proper order of dominant men and submissive women. But it's just for virtue signaling. Women, if they're honest, aren't into it. They like dominant guys.
>>
>>290721596
Apologies if someone already asked you this (actually I don't really care), but if what you say about Takeuchi vs Ikuhara/manga vs anime Sailor Moon and their respective intended audience is true, why did Ikuhara keep Haruka and Michiru as a couple?
>>
>>290723706
>why did Ikuhara keep Haruka and Michiru as a couple?
Not that schizo but he actually didn't in S. In the anime they only get together in the Super S special, movie and in the Stars season.
>>
>>290720438
Oh right, that was going on.
>>
>>290723612
Everything happens on a minor scale, I never denied that. You're saying it happens on a major scale.
Yuri shipping isn't prevalent at all actually, it's a small circle of people doing it, and btw a lot of them are women.
>And you're also unaware of how much feminist writing and articles promote femdom
They don't. They promote male hate and role reversal shit. Because that's what feminism is. And is not at all what femdom is.
>>
>>290719915
Ear ring does NOT guarantee it's a woman
>>
>>290722727
>He thinks femdom is automatically feminist
If anything it’s the opposite and a Dominant rapechad is what’s considered to be more feminist because that’s what women actually want while femdom shit is for lazy herbivores who expect to be catered to without putting in the work to actually attract a woman so the woman does all the work and takes control instead. No normal woman wants to be a Mommy to a guy, that’s a completely male fantasy.

>>
>>290723706
>but if what you say about Takeuchi vs Ikuhara/manga vs anime Sailor Moon and their respective intended audience is true, why did Ikuhara keep Haruka and Michiru as a couple?
Actually Naoko didn’t even want the HaruMichi ship outside of Michiru merely being a second choice placeholder for Haruka, she was initially gunning for Haruka/Usagi but Ikuhara preferred HaruMichi and completely erased Haruka being in love with Usagi in the anime which Naoko was pissed about. They even engaged in an all out shipping war using the Image Songs as their battleground where Naoko originally wrote Haruka’s Image Song to reflect her feelings for Usagi but Ikuhara changed it to be about Michiru instead and poor Megumi Ogata was caught in the middle and confused and didn’t know which lyrics to ultimately follow. The Naoko vs Ikuhara lore goes DEEP and I have even more stories from where that came from.

As for why Ikuhara shipped HaruMichi despite making the anime more female friendly than the manga? Well he’s always been an omnivore rather than a pure fudanshi or himedanshi, but even then the HaruMichi ship reflects a more female gaze, feminist version of yuri compared to Naoko’s Haruka/Usagi which is a pure yuritroon male gaze ship the likes that you’d see in Madoka or Nanoha (Usagi here is the stand in for the pure & innocent weak and naive hyper-submissive “bottom” like Madoka and Nanoha themselves).
>>
>>290724093
>Everything happens on a minor scale, I never denied that
Yes you did.
>>290708966
>I am: zero.
>Yuri shipping isn't prevalent at all actually, it's a small circle of people doing it
What's your proof of it? There are massive franchises that are filled with yuri shipping in their fanbases.

Loud minority. Do you think furries are a prevalent portion of the population? Because the biggest media franchise of all time, Pokemon, is filled with furry shit in its fanbase.
>Oh so you're going the no true Scotsman route

>fails to even get Madoka's character right

>>
>>290724377
Pretty sure this was intended for me but I already said it isn't what women want and that they like dominant males. But feminism isn't about what women actually want. These submissive women who are honest about their desires get attacked by feminists for "internalized misogyny".
>>
>>290724447
>...what? Are you misfiring or what? But wait, you're the same guy. Are you like, attempting to argue back against yourself but replying to me instead? I'm beginning to seriously wonder if you're even human and not an AI model.
I’m the fujo retard, and I can tell you right now that as a woman most women really want dominant rapechads and femdom is a male fantasy rather than feminist.

>>290725162
>yuritranny tries to project his fantasies on Madoka (albeit under falseflag)
Prove that I’m a falseflag, you can’t. I despise yuritroons just as much as you except I’m not in denial when an anime or manga is actively trying to court them. You’ve already outed yourself as a tourist for thinking yuri in anime, for a Japanese audience, is some sort of feminist statement (except when it’s by Ikuhara) and not just male gaze otaku fanservice meant to cater to the purityfags who don’t want their waifus defiled by other men.

So if you really want to prove you’re not some sort of newfag election tourist can you explain why Naoko’s next planned manga series PQ Angels was an explicitly yuritroon work? Were you even aware of its existence? I’ll be waiting…
>>
>>290725343
>most women really want dominant rapechads

Prove it
>Loud minority. Do you think furries are a prevalent portion of the population? Because the biggest media franchise of all time, Pokemon, is filled with furry shit in its fanbase.
You're comparing an unintended subgroup of the fanbase outside of the target audience compared to something where yuri is at the core of the fanbase like Love Live. You're also comparing a dedicated fandom/subculture that one builds their identity on (of which there are millions so it's not so insignificant) to some girl-on-girl action for men to casually enjoy as just one of many fetish/form of female sexualization they may like. This comparison fails on so many levels.
>I said from the get go that femdom involves the woman loving the man.
Yes, no true Scotsman fallacy. I'm sure you're also going to do a no true Scotsman on what "loving" means to discount all the western femdom porn.
>>
>>290725405
>You're the one who said feminists were pushing femdom.
No that wasn’t me, you got me confused with the other antiyurifag who’s so antiyuri he’s gone completely schizo and tries to deny reality.

>>290725429
Only an election tourist newfag would automatically equate yuri fanservice intended for the otaku male gaze with Western Culture War shit, I’m still waiting to hear from you why Naoko’s next work, PQ Angels was about female Alien Cockroaches having to kiss each other in order to transform into Magical Girls if Naoko WASN’T trying to court the yuritroon audience all along. Still waiting to hear your explanation for that…

>THIS is the seminal work that so many people love?
Most people who love it are fans because of the anime, not the manga.

Probably true for a lot of things when so many shows air in a season and franchises seem to have less staying-power today. Or at least, that's what it feels like.
>>

>>

>Look up the artist name tags, they’re public.
And there are a bunch of artists who have drawn yuri. Some of them draw it alongside other things, some only focus on a few series, and that expands the number even more over the totality of yuri fanart.
>…the exact same thing. That is literally what yuritards are.
You're comparing people whose identity include costumes, specialized conventions for the interest, and role playing to men who see a scene of girls kissing and go, "Oh that's hot."
>No, Love Live wasn’t made for yuritards either, otherwise it would have flopped like all the stuff that was.
How expected. Making baseless claims to define away what doesn't support your beliefs when you've already shown you don't know shit about the industry. Not surprising coming from the one who claimed business yuri doesn't exist then when shown evidence otherwise, looked for any reason to flatly reject it without proof. And you think you have authority to decide what was and wasn't made for yuri pandering. I bet next you'll claim Yuru Yuri isn't for yurifags.
>It’s not no true Scotsman to say that you don’t love someone if you’re just using them and you’re looking down on them.
The only requirement for femdom is for the female to be the dominant one. You realize if you're narrowing the definition of femdom to fit your claims, it'll make the amount of femdom out there far lower than the amount of yuri? Think about if you applied this standard the other way. Nobody questions if rape/hate sex, ryona, and other kinds of violence and degradation on women in porn is male domination.

You’re moving goalposts to something completely unrelated since we’re talking about fandom presence. Also, it’s funny because most modern yurifags fall into the description you gave for furries.

Okay, the furry presence in pokemon is still small compared to the target audience. You missed the whole point that this isn't a valid comparison since most people who find girl on girl action hot don't care to go for that level of dedication.

I get what you mean but this isn't necessarily true, a woman can take the cock dominantly. In any case it should always be conventionally enjoyable for both parties which feminist shit isn't

That may be true as well, most yuri stuff is for the male gaze as opposed to western feminist shit, but yuri is less popular in Japan than femdom is, and even Naoko knows that

>Most people who love it are fans because of the anime, not the manga.
I guess I should elaborate on what I don't like.

This manga needs to slow down. It's all just going WAY too fast. I just feel like I don't understand the internal logic of anything and don't really know any of the characters. Mainly, I think the problem is how almost every chapter ends with them killing some villain. That forces the chapters to be pretty formulaic. A bit of SOL at the start (pin this), then character the chapter is about has some personal dilemma, then the enemy's chapterly scheme is introduced and the sailors rush over to fight, then there is a moment of mortal peril as the central character of the chapter isn't strong enough, then someone says "have you tried believing in yourself harder?", then the character has the strength to blast the chapter's villain, then it ends.

My problem is that because in each chapter the individual stakes are so small, the time taken away from character development leaves little room to really get to know the characters or see them interact much. The starting SOL bits are like 15-20% of the chapter at best. Then, the intercession of the plot takes over the rest of the chapter. I LOVED the idea of Sailor Venus struggling with her position as leader despite her insecurities. And this was going well because it was stretched out over 2 chapters, meaning the character interactions part was much longer. But then the second chapter started starts with FORTY TWO of fifty eight pages being a totally unrelated flashback. It killed all the momentum and left the resolution to her problems being "have you tried REALLY believing in yourself?" Just ridiculous. Most chapters have that exact same finale, just with a much shorter (and worse) buildup due to being only in one chapter.

>>
Speaking of the flashback, I don't understand the internal logic of the world. Like, I understand what's going on with Sailor Saturn, but not really the why. It just feels like events happen one after the other without any explanation or without being allowed to sit with the reader. I've said it before, but what are the Moon Spiral Heart Attack and Moon Whatever Halation? Like, what do they do? Are the electrical energy? Thermal energy? Concussive force? Because it seems to me that the effects of the attack are "whatever is needed in the present moment". I really think the manga needs to stop ending every chapter on killing an enemy. If they took more time to just spread things out and give us time with each character, I'd simply care a lot more. The girls don't really have much personality, and most of what they do have was just told to us. Venus is the only Sailor I really care about, and that's just because she has her own manga.

Unless the anime really was wholly different, I just don't get why Sailor Moon was so popular.

couldn't agree more.
thing is sailor V manga was also very formulaic but I never got tired of it. I loved to see v-chan say her stupid catchphrase while defeating the villain of the week, it was fun. sailor moon somehow lost the sauce.
>>
>>290742155
I think it helped that Sailor V had shorter chapters. The Sailor Moon chapters certainly feel like 50+ pages

Sailor V also is a more fun character to read and has a stronger supporting cast. Never seen the anime, but it feels like the manga was practically made as a supplement to the anime. Like how Dragon Ball Super was with its anime if I had to compare it. So it basically expects you are watching the anime for the "real" version. Even still, I doubt the anime is much better so I'm also puzzled on how it got so popular. Maybe because I'm not a 10 year old girl.

I think there might also be a bit of Seinfeld effect at play

>Small but loud. Yuritards are the same.
Funny. I can say the same about femdomfags.
>The lgbt movement is nothing but that, and they're most yurifags nowadays
LGBT has nothing to do with "real" yuri. See, I can do it too. And there's probably more truth to that since they keep complaining about how it's female objectification and queerbaiting or whatever.
>More than you
I'm the guy who made you change your position multiple times. I clearly know more than you but I already know you can't accept that.
>I get what you mean but this isn't necessarily true, a woman can take the cock dominantly
Wrong. A woman being dominant over a man goes against established gender roles.
>In any case it should always be conventionally enjoyable for both parties
Nobody uses that as a requirement to call something maledom.
>yuri is less popular in Japan than femdom is, and even Naoko knows that
Funny you mention Naoko since she's an example of a woman who makes typical man-hating feminist comments and talked about how weak and submissive boys are but her works don't reflect that at all no matter how she claims otherwise. The way she wrote Usagi and Mamoru is a standard shoujo romance, like she has to be honest about her desires in her manga.
And let's examine your claim. How popular was Mato Seihei compared to Mahoako? They aired in the same season. Honestly, how many anime made for femdomfags even are there?
>It's a niche among men
Only a very small portion of men are into femdom and virtually no women. To normal people, it's off putting. Heterosexual men get the same or even higher levels of arousal from watching female-female intercourse compared to male-female intercourse.

There may be some truth to that, but the manga is still one of the highest selling shoujo and manga in general so it doesn't explain it away.
>>

Funny because he’s arguing against yuri being feminist in this thread.

>>

>I doubt the anime is much better
I have heard anons ITT say the anime has a lot more "filler" which I assume means SOL episodes of the girls not really doing much. Paradoxically, I think that would actually HELP the manga.
>>
>>290748577
>Funny. I can say the same about femdomfags
Maybe, but not as small and not as loud. And the popularity of characters like Kurumi Tokisaki casts doubts on your statement. Naoko also disagrees with you, as you know.
>LGBT has nothing to do with "real" yuri
But it has everything to do with the majority of its modern fans.

>Heterosexual men get the same or even higher levels of arousal from watching female-female intercourse compared to male-female intercourse
You’re talking about cucks specifically, an extremely small subset of men.
>>
>>290741114
Yeah, I have to agree. I loved the anime when I was a kid, but haven't watched it in years. I remember being kind of bored by the monster of the week dragged out style even as a kid, but now that I'm reading the manga I miss it. There was tons of SoL and character development, which really let you get to know the characters. I remember there still was the problem of the regular Sailors kind of jobbing and Moon finishing everything, which I had hoped the manga would fix but no such luck.

There's probably the bones of a really good story in there, but no format can get to it, especially not now that everything is one-and-done, go onto the next thing, quick quick quick gotta binge the next series right away

I mean, think about it. Women are much smaller and weaker than men on average. Imagine a big strong man taking you in his arms, his large body totally enveloping yours. You want it but you're too embarrassed to say anything. Women are supposed to be pure and innocent, so maybe if you say something he'll think your gross. But he confidently starts using his big hands to touch your body, making you feel good. He's so strong there's nothing you can do as he takes your body in his.

Are you saying only yurifags say election tourist or she's an election tourist herself who's trying and failing to blend in? The latter is true. She's an obvious tourist but thinks she isn't because she's a leftist or something. The false flag hypothesis doesn't hold up. If that's the case there's no reason to make a divide between the anime and the manga. Just attack both as yuri pandering.

>Naoko also disagrees with you, as you know.
Her work doesn't. Despite what she may say in interviews which should disqualify her from "real" femdom by your definition, she still didn't put a femdom couple but did put a lesbian couple in Sailor Moon.

I agree that domination loss is also popular however
>she still didn't put a femdom couple
You mean asides from the fact that every single main female villain gave Mamoru the princess Peach treatment at least once?
>I already know you'll just keep pretending the business yuri discussion didn't happen
I’m not ignoring it because it didn’t happen, I’m ignoring it because it’s not relevant
>Femdom is sexual deviancy and subverting gender roles no matter how you deny it.
Because you keep saying it?
>No male characters. It wasn't for them
Plenty of shows with no male characters are made for men, the near entirety in fact. Mahoako is well known for managing to get an audience outside of yurifags despite being yuri which is how it got popular. Most of its merch is typical waifu merch, not yuri stuff, which yurifags actually complain about lol
>I'm talking about scientific research
You mean stuff shat out by people who don’t know what a woman is? Yeah thanks god I consider myself to be above them
Meanwhile, yuri anime isn’t basically never popular. So much for being a common male fantasy or something.

HAHAHAHA That's your justification? Holy shit and you say that yurifags keep claiming series that aren't theirs. The Dark Kingdom brainwashed Mamoru and used him to fight Usagi. That's not quite the Princess Peach treatment.
>I’m ignoring it because it’s not relevant

And another election tourist buzz phrase. That study was from 2007. You didn't even read it. If you had a legitimate argument, you could read the paper and explain problems with the methodology or point to other research or data with conflicting results, but all you can do is dismiss it offhand because it conflicts with your views. You are incapable of actually engaging with arguments. The only points you can make are "nuh-uh" and "it's true because I made it the fuck up." >Unless the anime really was wholly different, I just don't get why Sailor Moon was so popular.
The anime does alleviate your concerns of everything moving too fast and the characters not getting to interact much, and lets them just hang out instead of killing a major villain every chapter (episode) and rushing from plot point to plot point.
However, this is bought at a high price, i.e. some of the most mind-numbingly repetitive monster of the week type of shit.
>I've said it before, but what are the Moon Spiral Heart Attack and Moon Whatever Halation?
Just beams that get progressively stronger. The sad truth seems to be, Sailor Moon kinda was a toy commercial at the end of the day. I've never verified it myself, but I heard that the anime was almost canned due to waning ratings in season 1 and what saved it was the introduction of the moon stick - which could be turned into a toy (and was).
After its introduction, Sailor Moon started doing beam attacks instead of things like Moon Tiara Action - perfect for selling sticks that make beeping noises. Same for her getting a new compact every arc.
I'm not sure how exactly Sailor Moon's success can be explained. I said it's mostly because of the anime, not the manga, and while >>290748720 rightfully points out the manga's success, and it's also true that Nakayoshi's circulation was never as high again as during Sailor Moon's run, I'm not sure if the anime just carried it. I somehow doubt the manga on its own would've been as much of a phenomenon, as I do share your concerns and agree with the issues you point out.
I think you really should take a look at the anime to get an idea as to what people saw in it. The manga won't make you love the characters, but the anime might. Problem being, it's slower as mentioned already, and that also means slower at introducing characters, so it's some 23 episodes before all the inner senshi are introduced.
>>
>>290766721
What are you trying so hard for? I already accepted your concession. You enjoyed a yuri anime and that's okay. You don't need to be so mad about it.

>>
>>290769811
It's 200 episodes long. And yeah, even watching until all the main characters are introduced is just a bit too much to ask, just to possibly change your opinion on a series (with no guarantee).
Not to try and change your mind, but maybe a random episode from the middle of a season might give you an idea how different the anime and manga are, if you're still kinda interested in that.

The first season made more sense than R
R’s time travel mechanics are completely incoherent
How did Chibiusa know Usagi had the silver crystal but NOT know it was her mom even though she’s literally named after her lol?
The plotline of Endymion telling Mamoru to break up with Usagi also made no sense and lead nowhere
>>
>>290772421
Usagi fully adopts the title of 'Queen Serenity' in the future, there's a good chance Chibiusa didn't even know what her mother's name was before she was born. she was always called Usagi or Small Lady in her timeline, 'Chibiusa' is what the girls take to calling her after she comes back to the past.
Endymion knew that Mamoru was indecisive about wanting to be with Usagi, so was trying to take advantage of the 'distance makes the heart grow fonder' effect.
>>
>>290772486
Doesn’t really explain how Chibiusa knew Usagi would have the silver crystal (but didn’t know she was sailor moon)
And clearly at that point Mamoru truly did love Usagi, the episodes right before the distances himself from her are actually very comfy romance-wise which makes that random ass plotline even more frustrating

>In Greek mythology, maenads were the female followers of Dionysus and the most significant members of his retinue, the thiasus.
>Often the maenads were portrayed as inspired by Dionysus into a state of ecstatic frenzy through a combination of dancing and intoxication. During these rites, the maenads would dress in fawn skins and carry a thyrsus, a long stick wrapped in ivy or vine leaves and tipped with a pine cone. They would weave ivy-wreaths around their heads, and often handle or wear snakes.
Interesting...
