Kubo originally colored Orihime's hair as brown, right? It was the 00s anime that changed her hair to bright almost neon orange, probably to make her look like she could be Ichigo's sister to subconsciously influence the audience away from the ship. Then Kubo decided he was into the aesthetic and adopted the orange hair for Orihime it did nothing to deter his ichihime agenda. So to that end I thank the old anime for giving us a ginger family.
