Hell, the fact we're getting solo dates at all puts this as one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. I was honestly starting to lose hope with so many of my favorite chapters skipped. But Bibury might have brought it back with this. Plus, didn't this chapter take place before Kishika? So this would be our second time messing with chapter order in the adaptation, which means they didn't totally drop the concept. I'm very happy about this, despite the Iku date and Naddy/Chiyo chapter being cut, I'd still be happy if Bibury kept an ear to the ground and made sure to adapt more chapters like these in the future. It's clear how much passion they have for this series. Hoping we get to see Naddy's date animated when the time comes.

That chapter largely exists for continuity purposes and excuse-making for not hewing closely to the ch. 1 premise of the show. They should give something more exciting and funny for the season finale, even if it doesn't feel like much of a wrap-up.
If it were up to me, I'd probably take a group chapter from later on in the manga that ends sweetly with all the girls kissing Rentarou, subtract the gfs that haven't appeared yet, and make that the finale with the addition of a small epilogue showcasing S4 gfs like the end of S1.

Another option would be to end on lap pillow, which would require some anime original content but might be even better. "A day in the life of Rentarou" doesn't leave enough of an impression. It's not that memorable or interesting.
Additional reasons I don't like "A day with Rentarou:"- Making Rentarou an author as a throw-away gag that's never mentioned again undermines the Shizuka/Meru friendship- Rentarou feels more like a cheap self-insert character for the reader/viewer's vicarious satisfaction here than in any other chapter of the whole manga. The love god bowing to him is corny.- Rather than tying up loose ends, it's fuel for the unfortunate "brainwashing" theory that sucks the fun out of the seriesIt's s3 chapter that I will miss the least if it's cut.
