I have to admit that they got better after Yuasa left. The Night is Short aside, his works at Saru were heavily watered down and clearly rushed. Now they work with more interesting material on average.

But even without Dandadan, Heike, the Tatami Galaxy follow up, Sanda, Jaadugar, and GITS would be a strong run for any studio. Scott Pilgrim was a stinker, but it probably made them a good amount of money and animation quality wasn't the problem. Americans pay a lot compared to Jap production companies.
