I guess Franken Fran had some of the most disturbing stuff in it. But it doesn't have that horror movie tone. More of a black comedy where the joke is how messed up everything can be.
Still, it definitely can filter people with how mean spirited it can be.

I'll add in that Shino Ura, Segawa Noboru, Nakayama Masaaki are all solid horror writers.

I enjoyed the black comedy aspect of Franken Fran, but the ultra-detailed gore was just too much for me. It's not scary at all but some of those panels are just nauseating to look at.
