With the success of the most recent Kickstarter making over double it's project goal. Do you think Tenchi Muyo as a franchise is back?
>>290860159not like the shaman king remake and its sequel brought that back as a franchisenor rurouni kenshinor sailor moon crystal
>>290860420I don't know, but I think hope burns bright in me.
>>290860159This is just a shitty Kickstarter for a pilot that only existed because Nips couldn't find any venue who gave enough of a shit to give it funding. This means less than nothing and will lead to nowhere like every anime Kickstarter pilot.
>i want ugly digital slop versions of old things!ok
>>290860159>Do you think Tenchi Muyo as a franchise is back?No but it'll keep going for just a little bit longer, I might have to do a full rewatch

'what if son wukong was a sexy space vixen' just doesn't have the novelty it used itfor tenchi muyo to make a splash these days it'd have to master all the elements it dabbles in, while updating them for a modern audience>harems are passe now, especially when 100 girlfriends exists. gotta make it an actual polycule where the girls are pursuing each other as well as tenchi>tenchi is from a long line of onmyouji descended from an ancient astronaut? go all in with the lore and conspiracies with unveiling how they shaped history from behind the scenes>and tenchi as this heir is also the successor to a space empire? gotta go all in on that too with actual space opera drama, but still grounded in relatable themes of post-industrial colonialism and corporate corruption. Especially since one of the faction reps in the polycule is a space cop>Can't balk away from or whitewash the incest either. It needs to be present and it needs to be fucked up and spicy, not just some vanilla mommydom fetish scenes here and there>not to mention the spaceship-beast cabbit joins the polycule go. So Tenchi being the kind of man that can fall in love with an fuck literally anything he can communicate with should be properly explored as a core part of how big of a freak he really is>but just making him a generic horndog would be boring. there has to be depth to his feelings, and a source of conflict
>>290861164They already did this show but better, it was called Geminar.
>>290861604that was only a single cour. still too shallow. you need something people can commit to and have a constant source of new things to theorycraft and make fanart about every week for at least an entire year
>>290862107I hate never ending slop, it always without fail wears out it's welcome.
It's been forever since I watched Tenchi Muyo, and I'm not really in a huge hurry to get back to it. I do remember liking that it was pretty over-the-top and the wide cast of characters being nice, but don't really remember if it was fun to sit down and watch a bunch of episodes. I'm not really keen on sitting down to watch 50+ episodes and half a dozen movies to remember, either.
>>290862172I was thinking 72-100 episodes
