this is Madoka Ayukawa from Kimagure Orange Road
she is, by all definitions of the word, a "girlboss" and a mary sue self insert
she is a delinquent and is portrayed as someone capable of taking down multiple grown men in a fistfight
however, she has a soft side for the MC of the story
these were the sorts of girls guys like me would fall in love with
modern depictions of girlbosses seem to be made to spite men
but the truth is you can have a character that has no flaws, as long as you add a soft side to her, she will automatically become a likeable character
>>
It turns out that "girlboss" is really a meaningless phrase, that it's good character writing vs bad character writing which has always been the real problem, and that a group of people just want to make everything about their preferred politics rather than see anything improve.
This has been pretty obvious to anyone paying attention over the last decade, but good for you for noticing, OP.

well no my point is that you don't actually need to add "flaws" to characters to make them likeable

She's a delinquent and her desire (and ability) to just beat the MC's ass would be considered flaws. Plus, it's less "flaws" and more struggle. Characters who don't have a specific trait that could be listed as "flawed" can still run into issues or situations where they can't handle it well, where they have difficulty, and where (for story purposes) viewers get to see a side of the character beyond their stereotypical outer presentation.

It's when they get presented with the same situation all the time, resolving it the same way, and just having the same personality and presentation all the time, that the character gets boring. This is half the problem of the "girlboss" trope. They're just annoying and overconfident and nothing ever changes about them to make them stop acting like that. (The other half is just having an obnoxious personality.)

She's not a self-insert. She was the author's ideal girlfriend. And she's the original tsundere btw.
