Its attention was wildly divided between randomly filling in backstory and developing the ongoing Viola situation. The former was contrived as fuck in Yuno's case, and the latter went completely limp halfway through. And the first third of the show is just embarrassing unfunny bullshit.I like what it ended up being, Viola and Miyako had a very compelling story through the middle part, and the animation team had a lot of fun with their visual gags. It was a solid 6/10, a worthy seasonal, a fun additional side story, but it leaves a ton of potential on the floor.

Viola's conflict "went limp" because the themes of the anime didn't dictate some grand confrontation but rather wanted to show the only way to deal with trolls and fake internet drama is to form real human connections, stand up to it, then ignore it. Viola and Miyako were still my favorite part but I think it all meshed pretty well.
