The biggest mistake every shoelacer story makes is making the party look weak without the protag. Every one of them writes the story around the protag getting kicked out, but this plot point never lasts. The protag gains his OP ability, and the party then falls apart because they're useless. Then the story turns into generic dogshit because what else is there to do? Wouldn't it make more sense to make them extraordinarily strong so they could be the main antagonists of the entire story? Show them slowly turn their "party" into a full-blown paramilitary gang that's simply out for money, women, and influence.Meanwhile, only the protagonist initially knows how evil they are, so he has to go against them alone, slowly making allies out of their victims.If that party has a CF, make her stand up to them a little as they get more and more aggressive and vicious (let's imagine she was just a tsundere who took things too far, but they're actual animals, and she reaches her limit with them), so they beat her up and turn her into their slave, threatening to burn down her village if she opposes them.The MC can save the CF at any point in the story, but the final confrontation with the party has to happen only at the end.That makes more sense to me than anything we usually see in this genre.
