I know I’m late to the party, but what a fucking trainwreck (the manga, I mean)Part I>Perverted MC does mercenary work and sexual harassment>Setting is presented and slowly expanded>Secondary characters are introduced and slowly developed>Future plot points are hintedAll good. And thenPart II>Let’s drop the MC and make his pupil the new MC (nothing inherently wrong with this, but…)>Let’s give her a boring, neverending arcAnd then>Let’s switch perspectives to some random character>Let’s do some cookie cutter war is hell arc>Now let’s get back to original MC pupil>Let’s have her and her friends be captured by original MC>The war at the center of the plot? It just ends lol>Also, turns out everybody is a huron lol>Last chapter: MC and pupil go on to another adventure. But we won’t show it>Most of the plot points of part I? DROPPED (i.e. The old guy just goes crazy and becomes a perverted old fart lol) >Secondary characters and their fate? Who cares about them
I thought the anime was good
>>290895160The anime ended before the manga started going downhill and the revelation was better handled
>>290893850Damn shame
>>290893850why did he do it
>>290897044My best guess is the author, after getting old and tired, and sick too many times, wanted to give it an ending. And he fumbled it hard

One last bump
The manga does have a terrible turn but the anime has a decent end point and is one of my favorites. It may be downstream of mad max, but I really thought it was more similar to the movie the wages of fear. They're also in a lazy desert setting where the different characters are forced into a similar dangerous convoy mission to get out of destitution.
