If anything the only parts that felt weird pacing-wise was the final arc and everything leading up to it since the real climax of MT is Turning Point 4 and its immediate aftermath. Once that got resolved the story was just slowly tottering towards the ending and the actual final arc felt kind of anti-climatic after the turning points. Some of the Orsted Corp scenes and the "final meeting" between Rudeus and Hitogami at the very end were the only good parts of MT after the TP4 package.

It ONLY happens by an inexperienced, unrestrained author and an inexperienced editor letting it go by.
