Mushoku Tensei>For high IQ people.
Anyone that complains about Mushoku Tensei is low IQ. If your IQ is over 140 you would love Mushoku Tensei. In fact when it comes to Mushoku Tensei it`s literally an IQ test. The lower IQ the more they dislike Mushoku Tensei. People that complain about "the stuff" MC did are the lowest IQ. The higher IQ the more you would like it.
I only don`t like that the MC is whining too much so it`s for high IQ "sensitive" people but it`s fine I guess.

I just prefer heroes like Gene from Outlaw Star(the MC) or Rou from Re:Monster(the MC). Sexually active, violent, amoral or at-least less "moral" and more medieval like in behavior.

Re:Monster>For high IQ people that love wild MCs.
MC hunts and eats animals by biting their flesh and eating it 2 seconds after hunting them.
MC eats humans.
MC is sexually very active.
But the pacing is meh and it gets boring.

Overlord>For high IQ successful people.
Actually after writing this I searched about the writers of this stuff and the writer of Overlord literally maintains corporate office job as a manager while writing his LN.
Literally a high IQ successful man that spends time managing people writing for people like him.
The behaviors of the characters are realistic what you would expect written by someone that talks to people all the time.
The only problem is, if you are an empathetic person some of the sadistic stuff the MC does, which involves t*rture of a lot of innocents and even a literal h*ll for 1 unfortunate fool, would leave a little bad aftertaste.

Redo of a healer>Low IQ slop.
With so many illogical things at some point it is unwatchable if you are not stupid. The MC is stupid(and probably a masochist and gay and loves being r*ped by men which is why he had a chance to redo his life but returned to r*pe dungeons and then had his mother figure r*ped by some cannon fodder "knight" in the 2nd timeline and won`t try to redo the timeline again because is stupid), the plot is stupid and wasted.

What's your IQ
>>
Just to explain how stupid "Redo of a Healer" is.
If he just wanted "revenge" there was no need for timeline reset in the first place, the heroes except the princess girl were dead and he could`ve r*ped and k*lled the princess girl right there and then and then framed her d*ath on the demon lord and returned to the kingdom as the sole survivor and been a hero there and then he could`ve made revenge against the kingdom if he wanted or just done whatever he wanted.
If he did the timeline reset it means he wants to relive the life but this time do it good and not bad like the first time.
He should`ve told to the princess girl while he was in bed "yea I can heal them it`s fine" and avoid the r*pe dungeon. Then after doing his "revenge" faceswapped and saved his mother figure.
The fact he went back to r*pe dungeons to be assr*ped for 6 months straight by itself is already stupid enough it should insult your intellect and make you want to drop it.
But the fact he won`t try to reset the world again and this time save his mother figure(the woman who raised him) solidifies it.
He literally "reset" the timeline to get assr*ped again and then make everything worse than the 1st timeline.
If he wasn`t trying to avoid all that shit then there was no need to "reset" the timeline.
It is a huge structural problem that isn`t fixed with anything.
It reveals writers low IQ and it is painful to read if you are not stupid yourself.
While Mushoku Tensei and Overlord are written by high IQ men for high IQ men.

When I was watching "Redo of a healer" I feel physical pain on how illogical it is.
I complained about it at the beginning and wrote another thread here called "Redo Of A Healer MC is stupid?" >>290967799
But decided to force myself and watch more thinking it would get better.
It was getting better for some time but after the 2nd stupid plot point that makes 0 sense I just physically cannot watch it.

Author said "it has higher than average female viewership". It should`ve been the sign for me to drop it.

No it`s the opposite because higher IQ is associated with thinking Age Of Consent should be lower. There is a reason why billionaires, politicians and scientists were Epsteins clients.
Low IQ normies(sub 100, basically 90-80) are easily brainwashed into actually believing in "age" as in "years" defining a person.
It`s actually like that IQ meme. Basically lowest IQ people like 60IQ Australian Aboriginals don`t care and highest IQ people like 150-160IQ scientists don`t care, but 80-90IQ people do care.
That is how you can realize someone is stupid if they go around calling anime "diddy".
The slang "diddy" for anime characters also entered to the anime community with African-American community starting to watch anime. So called "hood weebs".
Before that "hood weeb" era when anime was watched mostly by Asians and some Whites no one cared about that stuff.

Higher than 150 but I am not going to write the exact number.

130. From my experience no isekai writer is particularly smart.
>>
Actually 90IQ+- are the ones that don't like Mushoku Tensei. Closer to 110 people start liking it. Higher than that really appreciating it. The key is that 60 IQ Aboriginals are not even gonna bother to try watching it they actually live in the moment like free men so that leaves only high IQ people to appreciate something like Mushoku Tensei.
>>
Mine is 150+ and in my opinion the writers of Mushoku Tensei and Overlord are really smart.

The difference is that the writer of Mushoku Tensei is probably a sensitive guy that doesn`t know how people talk(very possible also had somewhat troubled childhood) and that`s why struggles with writing believable interactions but still his writing is very smart.
The writer of Overlord already confirmed literally works in a corporation managing people, which is why people talking and behaving in Overlord seem so realistic(he literally writes in his free time).
>>
>>290978623
No you're not. The Overlord author is very obviously a midwit, as evidenced by the fact he treats intelligent people like wizards.

>Actually after writing this I searched about the writers of this stuff and the writer of Overlord literally maintains corporate office job as a manager while writing his LN.
Maruyama (skeleton mask-wearing dude at the bottom) who wrote Overlord is a hack. He completely sperged out because the super-mega-plus-ultra exclusive Evileye alternative timeline LN that only people who had purchased receipts for all blu-ray releases for the anime and then participated in a lottery and won that too could get (there were only like 1000 copies or so) still ended up getting leaked and then translated into Chinese and English, so in his rage he said that he'd end Overlord in like 3-4 volumes for this "betrayal" by his audience and yet years later he is still not finished, no new releases lately whatsoever, still stuck at LN volume 16 (released in 2022) despite initially bragging that Overlord could easily reach 60 or so LN volumes. He supposedly also said that he'd rather write a "wrestling rom-com" instead of Overlord by now or just quit writing altogether and just go back to his office job life again.

Fuse (dude holding slime plushy on his lap at the top) on the other hand, while initially being inspired by Overlord, ended up creating Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura for short), a much better story than Overlord and recently even finished the main story at 23 LN volumes despite starting out 3 (WN) / 2 (LN) years later than Overlord. After working as a manager for like 10 years he quit his job and opened his own business, writing Tensura and supervising the manga, anime, movies and even the by now 10 or so spin-offs all while running his business.

And while we are at it, Rifujin na Magonote, author of Mushoku Tensei, promised to write the "real main story of the six-sided world" that MT is supposedly just a prequel for, many years ago. Yet all he did most recently (October 2025) is writing Orc Eroica and dragging his feet regarding his promise. What's up with that?
>>
I can tell if writer of something is smart.
Writer of Mushoku Tensei is smart and it is something that the smarter you are the more you appreciate.
Writer of Overlord is smart and it is something that the smarter you are the more you appreciate.
Writer of Hunter X Hunter is smart and it is something you can appreciate whatever you yourself are smart or dumb, but the smarter you are the more you appreciate it.

The writer of Saiki K is smart(so is the writer of Gintama. Actually writing a comedy is very hard, if you can make a good comedy you can probably make good nearly anything else as well).
The writer of One Piece is smart but the story is so long he can`t keep up with his own story so is full of holes.

The writer of Redo Of Healer is dumb. Read the thread and see my explanation why it is dumb. The plot holes are so big that it feels like some man with 90 IQ or a woman wrote it.
It is very ironic for me to write this because Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood which was actually written by a woman is actually pretty good and the female writer of it is actually very smart, but she is an exception.

Redo Of Healer is legit one of the stupidest things I ever watched and I regret watching it.
I should`ve believed that guy that said it`s trash and dropped on the 1st episode.

Yes smart high IQ people are ending up being lazy sleazebags too.
I watched Reincarnated As A Slime. While it`s good. Overlord is much much much better and it`s not even close.

What the writer of Overlord does is very typical of someone like him to do.
The writer of Hunter X Hunter also writes at a snails pace and the writer of Game Of Thrones just gave up.

At least the writer of Mushoku Tensei actually finished his story which makes him even more awesome.

Overlord has smart characters written stupidly.

Micho from Harem Labyrinth is a smartly written smart character. When Michio kills a hotel room full of three people he books the room next door so he can examine it, finding which walls he can stab through, where the openings are (doors, windows, etc.), what sort of cover is there, and whether or not he can fuck Roxanne AND Sherry on the bed afterwards. This is a smart thing to do because Michio is a smart person who is written by another smart person who understands how smart people think.

If Ainz from Overlord were to kill a hotel room full of three people. He'd enter using a secret door in the hotel only visible via magic. He'd throw a red potion near one guy causing him to go into cardiac arrest, as he had deduced from a nearby photo that the man was a former soldier from the great war which gave him PTSD when seeing blood. The second person would then immediately die just according to plan as Ainz had earlier deduced that the woman was under a slave contract and would also die together with her master. As for the third man, why Ainz doesn't kill him at all. The third man removes his armor and cloak to reveal he actually WAS Ainz the entire time. But Ainz just entered through the secret door and killed two people, how can there be two of him? The first Ainz removes his mask to reveal he's actually Demiurge attempting to spread the name of Nazarick. Ainz however anticipated this, the two dead people stand up, they're undercover doppelgangers Narberal Gamma and Pandora's Actor, it was all a ruse. "Sasuga, Ainz-sama!" Demiurge cries. "Well done, Demiurge. As expected, you've seen through a bit of my plan once again. Now explain to everyone here what my real intentions are and what actions I was planning to take from here." the Supreme Ruler of Nazarick speaks, the end.

This is retarded because Ainz is a smart person written by a stupid person to whom smart people are indistinguishable from wizards.

>High IQ
Watching a variety of content in a variety of media and a variety of genres, enjoying specific content for specific reasons, knowing what and one piece of content does well and does poorly, and being able to articulate both the positive aspects and negative aspects of a particular piece of media. Be able to recommend something based on what an individual prefers, be able to recommend or dissuade watching based on what a person might desire as opposed to assuming all of humanity is a unified whole. It also involves being able to watch a particular piece of media and look at it critically, as opposed to placing it into a blanket media-good or media-bad bid.

>Low IQ
Looking exclusively at a single genre because trying to compare two types of media with different priorities and different values is too different. Trying to rank all media in the single genre on a linear scale, putting no effort into looking at context or genre-mixing or any other value than if one is better than another.

>Barely Treading Water IQ
Focusing exclusively on a single show to the exception of all others, preferring it over everything else. Declaring everything it does to be superior to all other shows and anything that any other show necessarily inferior. Attempting to create a scale which is, effectively, how close other media is to the given preferred show, and then attempting to pass their opinion off as objective facts.

>Digging A Well in Hopes of Drowning IQ
Focusing exclusively on one show you hate, saying how much you hate it, and making multiple threads on /a/ trying to tell everybody how much you hate the show. Spending hours bumping up your threads while ranting about how much you hate that particular media. Trying to justify your dislike by pretending you have some objective metrics that make it irrefutably bad.
>>
>>290978853
I am laughing at it because it is true.
But no Overlord is actually a smart story written by a smart person.
The "Ainz accidentally making things work" is a funny gag but a lot of the plans in Overlord are well thought out and you need to actually take your time to think about it to understand why.
Ainz is not a smart person written by a stupid person.
Ainz is a "midwit manager" surrounded by people smarter than him, written by a smart person who sees himself as a "midwit manager".
Harem Labyrinth is very good but Overlord is much better.

I'm not even saying you're specifically wrong. I couldn't get past Episode 2 of Redo Healer because the beating, maiming, torture, rape, brainwashing, and then effective enslavement was offputting enough. The signposting from there, indicating that the MC was going to do the same with other characters later in the series, made me uninterested in continuing. I don't really want to watch another 10+ episodes of that. So, best as I can tell, your ranting is correct.

But I'm not going to make repeated /a/ threads about how much I disliked the anime and how offensive it was and how bad it was. I'll just go watch something else. I'd rather waste my time analyzing something good and enjoyable rather than a rape-revenge story. So just relax, watch something you enjoy, and perhaps pick it apart and make a thread about that. Tear apart Overlord or Mushoku and rant about the good/bad parts of those anime. Don't spend your time bitching about something most people probably didn't even like.
>>
>>290978883
I do and I explained why.
The MC could`ve r*ped and killed that princess right when they defeated the demon lord and pin it on the demon lord and return as the sole survivor and his revenge would`ve been fulfilled.
He "resets the world" which I assume was to relive the past years of his life full of torture but this time to avoid it, while also taking revenge on people that tortured him.
Yet, he willingly goes to the rape dungeon to be tortured for 6 months and r*ped in the ass for 6 months by himself in the 2nd timeline.
Then when he escapes he has his mother figure r*ped by some NPC cannon fodder knight and instead of trying to reset the timeline again and avoid it he just goes with it.
So he effectively lost his revenge or at-least delayed it(the 2 of the "heroes" that were tormenting him were killed by the demon lord or would`ve been killed by him or something, if he didn`t reset the timeline and he could`ve r*ped and killed the princess right there and then).
Got himself assr*ped for 6 additional months.
Got his mother figure r*ped.
I have never seen something so stupid.
>>
>>290978943
People dislike it because of the r*pe which is stupid.
I dislike it because the plot in it is so illogical it made me feel physical pain when I was watching it.
>>
Humanity is truly sick.
People kept complaining about "MC r*ping that evil princess" instead of actually complaining about the MC willingly going back in time knowing what would happen then willingly getting ass r*ped for 6 additional months.
I think the writer of it is a masochist.
Maybe even the guy that pretends to be the writer is not the writer but an editor and some woman is the writer.
If it gets revealed I won't be surprised.
>>
>>290979036
>People dislike it because of the r*pe which is stupid.
It's okay to dislike it because of the rape. Watching rape isn't fun. It's not okay to critize it just because it has rape in it. Just because it has negative content (even in a negative situation) isn't a relevant critique, because of course showing negative content in a negative light isn't a reason to complain about a work.

I'm more offended with the MC using rape as a "positive" situation. Which, to be fair, is more a statement than a critique. But it's enough for me, personally, to not be interested in continuing. If I were getting paid that would be a bad stance, but I'm just a random asshole on the internet and so can just not watch what I don't want to watch.

>I dislike it because the plot in it is so illogical it made me feel physical pain when I was watching it.
That's why I'm deferring to you on this one. I'd need to full context to make an accurate decision, and you've clearly watched more than I would. So unless someone wants to argue that the plot is logical (or good) I think we can all agree that it's bad and nonsensical.

>>290978994
>I have never seen something so stupid.
Livid Lady's Guide to Getting Even is pretty stupid. Probably not as bad as Redo Healer, but between "I'm not marrying this person so let's execute her" to "We must murder every bandit we encounter" to "I proved this company stole my product, that means I own this company" to a lot of other takes, it's pretty dumb at every opportunity. A lot less assrape, so not as objectively offensive, but that just means more opportunity to listen to someone's bad takes on economy while having little understanding about economics.

>Musoku Tensei
Unironically intelligent, yes. The story takes the idea of reincarnation and runs the whole nine yards with it. The protagonist, an incredibly flawed and damaged person, gets a second chance at life, and he grabs it with all his being. It's not easy for him, of course. He goes through all kinds of heartbreak and difficulty. But ultimately, he learns how to live a good life, not just on a basic "hit the gym bro" level, but actually learning how to trust people, and how to put himself in other people's shoes.
>Overlord
Pure mid. The story has no idea what it actually wants to be - a comedy about a dumb salaryman pretending to be a cool skeleton, a dark fantasy villain story, or something else entirely. The writing ranges from "good" to "what the fuck am I watching", and the narrative is meandering. Comparing it to Mushoku Tensei is like comparing Conan the Barbarian to The Lord of the Rings. One is not nesessarily bad, but not in the same ballpark as the other.
>Redo of Healer
It's porn. The revenge narrative is paper-thin, the characters are paper-thin, but who gives a fuck? You're not here for the thrilling sword and sorcery adventure; you're here to watch bitches get raped.
>Re:Monster
No idea about it, but from the synopsis, it looks like an edgy Tensura clone.
>>
what the fuck is this thread lmao
>>
>>290979396
Problem with Redo of healer is that its so stupid its not even a proper porn. I would rather watch Main Character Is The Villain an actual hentai that also has a lot of r*pe in it by the Main Character but which is much smarter and more pleasant to read(I only read it, it still doesn`t have an anime).

Overlord is really good but it doesn`t have anywhere it wants to go.
The show is about what the name suggests, "an overlord". He takes over the kingdoms, makes everyone be his bitches.
Author should already make him take over everything and finish the story.
The problem is at some point the story has no stakes because of how powerful the MC is. Which is the same problem eventually Tensura runs into. But if he finishes the story with like 1 more novel. That`s it. It`s good because the story is too short for the problem of the MC being so overpowered to become that big of a problem.

>its not even a proper porn
There's porn where a guy gets encased in the floor and is forced to eat shit for his entire life. And people enjoyed that one. You vastly underestimate how perverted some people can be if you think that revenge-rape is so far outside everybody's wheelhouse that absolutely nobody would enjoy it.

Most people don't like it because it's offensive. But some people do because they're into that.
>>
>>290979723
The problem is not the revenge rape the problem is that he let himself be assraped for 6 additional months for no reason.
It`s illogical. It`s stupid.
Then he got his mother figure raped.
Why the fuck he even reset the world if he was gonna pick the worst possible rout.
The key to understand it is in some of the abuse scenes. Author is probably a female with masochism that enjoys that shit.
The male that larps as the author is probably her editor.
If that man is the author. LMAO at him.

this is off-topic but i want to bring up my own experience with taking an iq test. it was at least a decade ago and i got a 136. i remember being pressured on time so i didn't fully complete it. out of curiosity, i looked up a question similar to the first one that stumped me and the solution was like a slap in the face. by considering a simple to overlook angle, my iq could've been raised just like that. other factors could be considered such as one's own condition. taking a test in a slump or state of heightened acuity without regard to one's own thoughts, iq was in constant fluctuation. i guess you could call it cope. i lost interest in taking such a test again, but there was also a hint of fear in doing so

IQ (and IQ tests) have a lot of criticisms, and the biggest ones involve that they grade test-taking much more than intelligence. Also, given that they're intended to be standardized against an average intelligence relative to a certain age, taking an IQ test at 26 is kind of a meaningless measure. It also brings up another point, the assumption that IQ is static and so what you'd score on IQ when 10 is equivalent or relevant to what you'd score at age 50.

And, of course, that any quality you'd actually want to talk about has a different term with different metrics. People use IQ to say "I'm smarter than this person" or "This person is dumber than me" but it's not really useful when talking about, say, analyzing something. Or learning a topic. Or teaching. Or creativity. People might say these are all IQ, but they're very different skills and how well someone can do them wouldn't be reflected on an IQ test at all.

Also, to say something relevant to the thread: Isekai is escapism fantasy and should just be enjoyed as such. It's not really going to have many big thoughts because the escapism and having a more ideal life in an exotic setting is a big part of the appeal. You might get some good writing and an entertaining setting out of it, but I've not really found any isekai that really made me sit down and think more than just generic-fantasy-what-would-it-be-like sort of daydreams.

Most of the so-called "IQ Tests" are just fake shit anyway. Any "IQ Test" that asks you "normal" exam question is worth less than toiletpaper, as you can at least wipe your ass with the latter. I recently tested one of those online IQ tests for the heck of it though I didn't get the result because it asked for personal data afterwards to show the results and that's a no from me for such a fake test. As expected it was full of holes, as several of the questions were ambiguous and too open to interpretation, sometimes bizarrely relying on the examinee having prior knowledge, thus ruining a test for one's ability to think things through due to missing some retarded prior knowledge due to the test creator's incapability to create a test that does not rely on extra knowledge.
Over 20 years ago I once had a real "professional" IQ Test. That was the real deal as every question was just about pattern recognition, i.e. whether or not I was able to identify the logic behind a given pattern, and these questions had no noticeable ambiguity as far as I could tell.

>Isekai is escapism fantasy and should just be enjoyed as such
I wouldn't say that. I mean sure, you can do that, but that's not what isekai is about.
>It's not really going to have many big thoughts because the escapism and having a more ideal life in an exotic setting is a big part of the appeal
Nope. Isekai is actually an under-the-table anti-bushido-culture movement. Ever notice how the reincarnated salaryman very often had a miserable overworked life in their prior lives? Even just implying something like that is a great taboo in Japan. They are as anti-status-quo as it gets. Anything that does the opposite and shows a pseud "grow up and become wageslave gear-in-the-clockwork salaryman" (e.g. Evangelion 3.0) attitude is compromised as a slave to the system. Isekai has also proven that no one actually cares about slapstick and violent tsunshits other than some dumb editors.

Overlord has a bad case of the author no longer giving a fuck and MT has a lot of issues - more than I can count. Don't get me wrong, on the whole I still like Overlord, but it's clear to see it was on decline the last few volumes.
MT had issues all the way from the beginning and it keeps digging itself into a hole. There are times when it has good stuff but those times are long since passed.

I wouldn't call either high IQ, but Overlord did at least have underlying things going on and a lot to like if you weren't a shounen tard obsessed with fights. More and more I'm realizing that MT is pretty shallow in comparison when it comes to most aspects and it has a lot of clear hamfisted writing to force certain things. Also the character writing gets worse the longer the series goes on for, while the issue with Overlord is that the author likes to meander on pointless stuff too much rather than any issues with the character writing

Isekai is exactly that. Escapism.

Mushoku is very smart and so is Overlord. Notice some here praise Overlord some Mushoku.
I see the bigger picture.

>Mushoku is very smart
I don't think so. There are some parts that are competent, but there also a lot of deus ex machina, plot contrivance, and writer fiat moments, or moments where the MC fucks up and instantly gets the problem fixed through luck, and the shoddier character writing in general as the series progresses.
Overlord does have some politicking and deeper character things going on, but frankly it's too much to call it "very smart" until we see the ending and how much actually gets resolved satisfactorily - or if it will even be finished at all. Especially the last couple volumes somehow felt both rushed and glacial.
>>
>>290981214
You need to give examples if you say that.
I gave example of why Redo is stupid.
You didn`t give an example why Mushoku is stupid.
Explaining why it`s smart would take much more because it is a combination of things.
>>
>>290981214
I find Mushoku Tensei much better written than Overlord.
I would go so far to say it`s the opposite of what you wrote.
In Mushoku Tensei important characters to the MC die, as opposed to the Overlord where they just dominate everyone.
MC fucks up in Mushoku Tensei and every fuck up influences the rest of the story.
Even if MC fucks up completely accidentally.
His dick didn`t stand when he tried to fuck the blonde. It changed everything as his relations with the blonde broke, his "adventurer team" broke, he then went on to find Sylphie and heal his ED for 12 episodes straight.
He made a single mistake of not paying attention for a second in a battle and his father died trying to shield him and he lost his arm too.

Mushoku is for retards. If you weren't disgusted by how far the series bends backwards to accomodate Rudeus, you're retarded. I was invested until oldeus ex machina, where I couldn't suspend my disbelief anymore. Ah, if only Mushoku took his path instead and the series ended with him traveling back in time to warn his past self before pershing, I would have cited it as a masterpiece. Instead, Rudeus has everything handed to him by the author, just as his parents handed him everything in his past life. Nauseating. The writer and his fans are incapable of self-reflection, silly and pitiful monkeys.
Overlord is just for niggers.
I don't know why you're bringing up Redo, which is similarly for retards? Just because Redo is shit doesn't mean Mushoku isn't also shit.
>>
>>290981244
In no particular order
>Rudeus happens to get his hand back so quickly because he got insanely lucky with finding a puppet that was so advanced no one had seen anything like it and it led to that
>Rudeus cheats on his wife and suffers zero consequence for it despite spending a good chunk of S2 bragging about how faithful and family first he is, completely undermines the idea that he "grew" in S2
>Rudeus barely bothers to ask around to get his mom cured and it takes someone else to say "oh yeah as a reward maybe you can ask this guy I know"
>The teleport just so happens to occur and to put everyone in the exact position for a lot of different bullshit to occur. This one thing does so much shit to the story that I literally do not have the space to list it all and Rudeus just so happens to meet a lot of ultra relevant characters he never would have if not for it
>There is a lot of wasted time on shit. There was an episode about Rudy trying to get a threesome and about him doing shit that doesn't matter but nothing about him trying to cure his mom. His parents in general got like no screen time or real development so I didn't feel anything when Paul died, even though Paul still got more than most others
>The world building is shallow. In the anime it's not even clear why the princess wants the throne and what she would actually accomplish
I could go on about how the characters seem to be completely different after they start living with Rudy or after the girls marry him, but that is harder to define with the amount of characters they give on 4chan
>>290981284
A lot in MT just falls into the MC's lap outside of his control and with no real context as to how, and we are expected to take it seriously at face value that he earned it
Whenever Ainz gets lucky it is always a comedy moment and he never just sits on his hands or takes action assuming it won't happen.
Rudy feels like he has no agency and just follows plot. Ainz feels like he does have agency.

No Oldeus is not deus ex machina. The fact you can`t realize or comprehend it shows how stupid Mushoku critics are. You literally either formed this stupid opinion trying to use your few braincells putting together "if something other than the effort of the character saves him from immediate danger it`s deus ex machina" or by reading that opinion somewhere else by some other midwit forming that opinion with his few braincells.

Let me show you and teach you how people of higher intellect think.

It would`ve been deus ex machina. The if Rudeus was in a fight, almost dying and then Oldeus came and saved him.
From our perspective Rudeus wasn`t in danger. He wasn`t risking anything.
He was just asked to go check the basement.
Everything about the immediate danger and all the bad stuff that could happen comes to us as an information from Oldeus. Which is what makes their static "talk" filling the entire episode so entertaining.
Moreover. It`s not some "other person" that comes to save him. It`s literally himself.
From our perspective Rudeus is just going to check the basement, nothing really dangerous is going to happen, then his old self comes and dumps on him information on the possible dangerous future, then we can see exactly how it played out.
It is called "smart writing".

>>
All Isekai is for dumb people, the only exception I'm willing to entertain a bit is re zero because it has good character writing, but even then the isekai slop setting does not do it any favor
Mushoku tensei in comparison is not only isekai slop but also harem slop, the worst kind of escapism with no redeeming message or quality
>bro just get reborn as a talented noble with an adult brain, perhaps then you can improve your life and get 3 wives
who the fuck reads this shit
>>
>>290981397
Rudeus gets his hand back quickly because he is a high class mage and surrounded himself with right people.
"Rudeus cheats on his wife and suffers zero consequence" yes when you are really high status and they really love you sometimes they let you do that. In the year 2026 complaining about it is hilarious.
About him trying to find a cure for his mother. He just asks the competent guy that "might" help him(I won`t spoil whatever it would or would not).
About teleportation it displaces people that are close to each other together to places. Rudeus meeting certain people that help him means nothing, if he was teleported in another place he would`ve met other people and still achieved somewhat similar outcome.
It`s like saying "how are we humans so unique living on earth it means someone put us there". No it`s just that among the entire universe the earth had better conditions therefore we ended up appearing there. Had Rudeus and Eris not been teleported to demon continent, they would`ve met other people and done other things it doesn`t make them getting there "lucky". If it wasn`t Rudeus but some stupid incapable young boy he would`ve died in the same place.
Rudeus has this incredible mana reserves because of training from an early age and incantations less spell but he can`t cover his own body with mana and strengthen it which leaves him vulnerable.
Also it appears he is not uniquely talented for being able to do incantation less spells as Sylphie learns it too because both of them try exactly that at a very young age(he does it better because he trains it at even younger age).

Rudy has agency which is to live a good nice life.
Yes he is not the "most important figure" in that world like Ainz is in Overlord.
He is not the strongest he is just part of the world.
He and Roxy are key to many important things down the line but Mushoku Tensei is about Orsted revenge on Hitogami.
I am completely fine with it.
Because
>>
>>290981602
Rudeus himself with his own decisions and actions and his own will transforms his life and life of everyone around him.
Sometimes he follows others will and goes along with others plans but very often he does his own thing.
Same is with Ainz half of Overlord plot progressing comes from his subordinates will and Ainz just follows it because has to play his "supreme being" role.

I wrote about my actual tested IQ on WAIS it`s higher than 150.
I know that I am smart. I am also not autistic. It seems like that to you because we think on different levels and you are incapable of understanding how smart people think.
>>290981585
There is no such a thing "this genre is for dumb people" and it is hilarious the way you say "bro just get reborn as a talented noble with an adult brain, perhaps then you can improve your life and get 3 wives". What about "if you are transformed to another world and have the ability to rewind time every time you die or some shit happens and can live without making mistakes and then you have happy ending who watches that shit" yet you praise Re Zero. You can try to make anything sound ironic and say "who watches that shit". Like "ah yea be a buff barbarian slave and then go around killing people and fucking chicks"(ironic description of Conan The Barbarian).
Near anything can be made "bad" with this type of disingenuous irony.

Mushoku Tensei is good because it is good. The story "what if some fat Japanese bullied loser that jerks off on his niece and gave up on his life, gets a 2nd life starting as a baby in a fantasy world" is by itself entertaining and interesting and much more. The world of Mushoku Tensei, the rules there, the history, the world-building, the art. Everything in it is beautiful.

The idea of someone transforming with his brain into a baby and living the life in medieval like fantasy world is in itself interesting and entertaining(which is why Isekai became so popular and now everyone wants to copy the same plot).
Good plot is good plot. Like "treasure hunt" or "time rewind(groundhog day)" or "gang wars".

>Rudeus gets his hand back quickly because he is a high class mage and surrounded himself with right people
And because he got insanely lucky in finding a puppet that was so advanced no one had ever seen it's like before
>yes when you are really high status
Not even worth saying how retarded this argument is. They shouldn't have wasted screentime on that at all then
>He just asks the competent guy that "might" help him
He only gets the opportunity to ask because an opportunity falls into his lap. He spends more time on screen fishing, fucking around with panties in a shrine, and trying to get a threesome going than doing any actual research on his mom's illness. So much for "mature, responsible" Rudeus that they were trying to build in S2. Made worse by the cheating too, obviously. He only does shit that directly benefits him in the moment despite the story claiming he doesn't, like when he helped Norn
>Rudeus meeting certain people that help him means nothing
Stacked on top of all his other ridiculous luck, it does. It feels very contrived
>Rudy has agency
No he doesn't and he does things that to other people would massively derail their life. He is astronomically lucky that the cheating didn't rupture his family, for example. It feels like he does shit because the plot wants him to and because he will just lie to himself and others about what his motivations actually are. He is written incredibly inconsistently
>Yes he is not the "most important figure" in that world
I'm not talking about power levels, even with what he knows and could do he doesn't do things that fit him and will literally just sit there doing fuck all until a solution falls into his lap half the time. He barely understands how the world works and he's been there for a while with complete mental faculty. You'd think during the timeskips he literally is hibernating with how ignorant he is of everything
>Same is with Ainz
Ainz has legitimate character reasons to act why he does.

Notice my criticism of Redo of healer was legit. It`s not based on some disingenuous irony but on an actual logical plot-hole so big it makes the entire thing unwatchable. Which is.
If the MC wanted to take the revenge he should`ve r*ped and killed that princess after defeating the demon lord and pinned it on demon lord doing it, the other heroes were already dead and he could`ve just returned as the sole survivor then started secretly taking out the knights. He should`ve done all that instead of resetting the world.
If he wanted to reset the world it was to not relive the same shit he did in the 1st timeline. Even if he also wanted to take revenge.
After he did reset the world however he went straight to the r*pe dungeon to get gay r*ped for 6 months straight, thus making the whole thing meaningless.
Then after "doing the revenge"
later on he had his mother figure r*ped by an NPC knight, making the 2nd timeline objectively worse than the 1st.
It would`ve been excusable if he tried to reset the timeline again. But instead he just accepts it.
So his objective was to take revenge on the guys that really tortured him.
In 1st timeline 2 tormentors dead, 1 remaining but he can easily kill her. He resets it.
2nd timeline 3 tormentors alive(he needs to manually start killing them again), he is tortured again, his mother figure r*ped and killed.

The show doesn`t even acknowledge it. The writer is too stupid to realize how illogical what he made is.

"he got insanely lucky in finding a puppet" because he is surrounded by right people in the best university.
It`s like complaining how all this tech CEOs are so lucky.
"He only gets the opportunity to ask because an opportunity falls into his lap" no he is a high class mage that meets powerful people and that is why he has that opportunity.
"Stacked on top of all his other ridiculous luck" it`s not luck if he went to other place he would`ve met other people and then ended up more or less in similar position. Part of his "luck" of finding that eye was man-god "helping" him(while also trying to keep him away from meeting Roxy who was in the same city).
"He is astronomically lucky that the cheating didn't rupture his family" polygamy is normal in Mushoku world. The reason his sister gets mad is because she belongs to some monogamous church "Millis Faith"(maybe 1/3 or half of population follow it but not everyone).
"Ainz has legitimate character reasons to act why he does" which is to fuck around and make sure that no one can hurt his people, but mostly to fuck around.
He could`ve just spend his entire time sitting on his throne and lived forever and nothing would change for him.
I still like Overlord but Ainz is a literal immortal god that can just do nothing and nothing would change.
Rudeus if gets stabbed well once would die and so would people around him.

>"he got insanely lucky in finding a puppet" because he is surrounded by right people in the best university.
That didn't have anything to do with his friends, he happened to want to buy and investigate the right house. It was pure chance. He had no idea anything of value was there and no one he knew thought anything of value was there.
>no he is a high class mage that meets powerful people and that is why he has that opportunity
That doesn't excuse the fact that he makes basically no effort to find a cure before that moment falls into his lap. I have no issue that Nanahoshi happens to know someone, the issue is that Rudy never even asked her beforehand.
>polygamy is normal in Mushoku world
That doesn't matter when he was hyping himself up to be loyal and told Sylphie he wouldn't use concubines and stuff. You and I both know he was insanely hypocritical about this and realistically he should be feeling immense guilt but the entire incident was swept under the rug and it somehow doesn't bother anyone how it played out.
>He could`ve just spend his entire time sitting on his throne and lived forever and nothing would change for him
Ainz is paranoid so he doesn't want to give enemies an advantage by setting the pace, he's intensely lonely and doesn't want to disappoint the people he knew and their legacy (and wants to find them or at the very least make their legacy immortal), and he does stuff precisely because he doesn't want to sit on a throne and deal with that pressure. Overlord happens because he is constantly looking for excuses to not sit on the throne and to experience life on a world that isn't the shithole dystopia he came from
>Ainz is a literal immortal god that can just do nothing and nothing would change
Perhaps he could hide away but it clashes with his character to do that. Just because he became undead doesn't mean he doesn't have his human mindset and flaws. For Rudy he constantly does things that violates what he claims to believe and say

There is no genre that is for low IQ or high IQ people by default, it all depends on the individual story.
Every story I wrote is a high quality high IQ writing, except for Redo of a healer which is stupid for the reasons I explained.
Which is the only non-isekai among the 4 things I used as an example.
Mushoku Tensei(Isekai, smart); Re:Monster(Isekai, smart); Overlord(Isekai, smart); Redo of a healer(Non isekai, stupid).

Re:Monster is especially interesting the MC was a human cannibal in the previous life killing and eating fellow humans, and became a goblin orc cannibal that occasionally eats fellow goblins and ate a lot of humans as a goblin/orc.

NTA but that part is clearly just wish fulfillment. Despite Mushoku being purposefully casual about sex, almost reminding you of GRR Martin, Rifujin still has the same idealistic outlook on love and sex as any otaku who spent his life playing eroge. He didn't want Roxy to give her first time to anyone other than Rudeus. In fact, he clearly detested the idea of Roxy being romantic with anyone other than Rudeus, which is why she goes full cartoon tsundere whenever anyone offers her sex, despite not even considering Rudeus as a possible sexual partner for most of her life. It's written so that she can become part of Rudeus' harem as a pure maiden. Rudeus, meanwhile, had to have his cock switched off just so he wouldn't bang every woman that came into his close proximity before he married Sylvie.
It reminds you that Mushoku Tensei, despite its solemn tone, is still otaku fiction at heart. It's very well-written, it's intelligent, but you fucking bet the cute, pouty witch voiced by Mona from Genshin Impact is not going to be made to look like a slut to the audience of purity-focused otaku. That's just how we do things here.

"he happened to want to buy and investigate the right house" ehh not entirely it was a "haunted house" and they investigated "why". They did it to get a cheap house but ok true there is a lot of luck in that.

"he should be feeling immense guilt but the entire incident was swept under the rug" yea, kind of, agree.
Not because of the polygamy itself. I just think he was too whiny and soft early on and then it was hypocritical. Since he made it into a huge deal that he is going to be only with her at-least he should`ve spent more time feeling guilt and being conflicted about it.

"Ainz is paranoid so he doesn't want to give enemies an advantage by setting the pace".
Yes but when he realized he is stronger than anyone he could just go back to hiding and never show himself again. He plays geopolitics to appease Demiurge.
As I wrote I still like Overlord because I like the idea of Ainz trying to have fun and enjoy his life, because if you are an immortal god, what else there is left for you to do. That`s what made the early Overlord so good.
The problem is he announced his nation and started genociding kingdoms and taking control of them and basically making everywhere into a boring dystopia(even if "the quality of life" for the surviving humans that aren`t tortured in happy farms or just killed, improved). That`s why author kind of drove himself to corner.
He should`ve just kept him cosplaying as Momon and adventuring and exploring the world.
