When designing them, I researched the shapes of various snakes' genitals—it turns out there's a huge variety.I agonized quite a bit over the shape. I realized that for him to have sex with Miyo, he needed a part capable of penetration that wasn't covered in spikes, so I created an original design featuring a smooth, spike-free shaft at the tip. Even so, considering the difference in their physiques, I can't help but think Miyo is in for a rough time...At first, my editor and I thought, "Since it's a snake's anatomy, it probably won't trigger censorship rules, so it should be fine to draw." However, after I submitted the data, I got a message saying, "The depiction of the Great Serpent's genitals was rejected..." We were both pretty bummed out. It seems the issue was that the shape looked too human-like.By the way, I had actually drawn other versions besides the one with the white blur.A matsutake mushroom and a chestnut burr! These were rejected because they looked too human.After tweaking the censorship blur two or three times, we finally got the green light for the white blur version, leading to the release of Chapter 10!Even though the genitals ended up being censored, I really wanted to go all-out on their sex scene......so I'm glad I was able to dedicate the entire chapter to it.That said, more than the censorship on the Great Serpent's genitals, what I personally find most frustrating is that the depiction of Miyo's pubic hair was rejected! I really wanted to draw that.
