Senshi is perceptive and mulled about this question since back when Izutsumi joined and Marcille put forth the egg analogy and it brought up again during the ice cave talk. He talked based on his intuitive understanding of things he witnessed during the dragon fight where the ham was dragged back to the dragon pool of blood. It's a theory based on his life experience of living in the dungeon, wrapped in a food analogy since, in story, it's his area of expertise, and out of story, because that's one of the core themes of the manga. It's a cool moment and has been cooking (pun intended) for a while.The fact that it's a viable solution is also in part narrative brevity, which is a good thing in my opinion. Sure, we could now spend x amount of pages and chapters about them conducting experiments of questionable ethics about resurrection and soul mechanics, but that's not the point and focus of the manga, so we can just go with it and assume that Sense rolled a nat 20 on intuition and the party's desperation led them to follow this plan.On another note, from a character writing POV, I liked that Kui had Senshi bring up this string of thoughts now and again. It makes a character feel more real of their have their own thoughts "off-screen" so to speak. Oftentimes characters in fiction seem only to exist if they're on screen and interacting with the mc. It's the world building equivalent of when an author manages to convey that the world keeps turning and events keep happening outside of where the mc happens to be.
