He did it this episode. He lost money.Meanwhile, Asa also woke up from a bad dream. She remembered how she was killed. She didn't die when she was killed.She apologized to Jin because he had to clean up after her. This loops back to Yuru's dream. In Higashi village culture, having someone else clean up corpses after you is considered very embarrassing and humiliating.The ugly woman was watching over Asa while she slept. She took a shower afterwards, then they learned maths together.Finally, we see Hana going to the bandit convention. She meets all her colleagues and their boss, a lecherous old man. She easily tricks her colleagues into thinking she doesn't know anything, with very low effort lying.Dera-san interprets "he's being inappropriate" in reference to the old man as him touching Hana's breasts lecherously. This establishes that Dera-san gets angry at the image of other old men touching Hana's breasts lecherously.They find something that looks like unko in a package and quickly recognize that those must be demons. The demons are covered in yellow stuff so they explode. Hana is at point blank range right in front of the explosion and the episode goes straight to the credits after this, which is supposed to lead the fans into thinking that Hana might die.The dog jumped towards her though, so she's probably gonna tank that easily.

I really enjoyed episode 1 through 11, but unfortunately, this arc from episode 12 onwards got a bit too lost in the sauce for me.I think what happened was that the author was surfing a wave of great twists and turns, so she overdid it hard in this last arc with twists and turns everywhere, but at some point, it just stopped being a satisfying shonen arc. The day/night guy actually being good and the uncle actually being a jobber and basically no conclusion whatsoever to the arc because they had the samurai be too OP so he just fucks off, for example. It's too much.How am I supposed to have confidence that this next East vs West arc won't also end with a shitload of twists that get in the way of the war?Finally, the simple fact of the matter is that the Higashi village are just comedic in how big a bunch of jobbers they are. All we have seen from them is them getting slaughtered and failing to do anything. I suppose their one success was when they managed to kill Asa in a flashback, but that's way too little. This is not remotely balanced. The series would benefit so much from having us take these people more seriously.On the other hand, something that this story did a great job at conveying is the lack of trust. From Yuru's perspective, pretty much the only person I'd trust unconditionally is Asa. Not even Left and Right would I completely trust, let alone people like Dera or, god forbid, anyone in the Kagemori clan. It's neat. It gives a very different texture to this story than what I'm used to from shonen. As well as the fact that there is basically no heroic character here whatsoever.Overall, I enjoyed it and I'll watch Season 2 for sure.
