>>291217314Well you haven't really given any reasons for why the war isn't absolutely terrible, nor have you offered any genuine arguments for appreciating this series more. I on the other hand can give you plenty of reasons for why this arc is completely unsalvageable on concept alone. For starters the premise is really retarded. Obito has infinite chances to just privately snatch Naruto and Bee with Kamui, and yet he decides to declare war on the 5 strongest nations in the war. After that, even though there were always tensions between the nations due to previous, everyone becomes buddies with each other to fight 2 comically evil guys and their army of zombies and Zetsu clones. You don't get to feel any of the grit of someone going to war and having to kill other people who have their own agenda, because Kishi is too afraid of making Naruto kill other people. At least in part 1 he actually tried to give Suna its own reason for allying with Orochimaru, since their own daimyo was a piece of shit. And to make it even worse, the whole point of the arc is made moot because Obito can just use the Kumo guys and Gyuki's tail to revive the 10 tails, meaning he didn't even need to go to war with the 5 nations. Then there are other things like how retarded Obito and Madara's motivations are, how useless the allied nations are, how they need to revive edo zombies on their own side to fight the 10 tails etc. The plot is supremely dogshit. I guess there are some fun things happening, like the Raikage and Mizukage fights, but the bad outweighs the good so hard that they're not even worth mentioning. There's also some nice visual storytelling, like Itachi hugging Sasuke before dying, but Itachi's character is such a fucking mess that the whole thing is made irrelevant.

One of the things I really don't understand is why people seem to hate Kishi so much on a personal level. It's just weird to me since he's always kept to himself, doesn't post political shit on twitter or argue with fans like lots of western creators do either. But you have so many people who act like Kishi personally killed their families or something. I think One Piece is overrated, I don't hate Oda.
