This anime really had some 10/10 character designs, only main ones I wasn't completely into were Rin and Imari's boyfriend (female). My favorite is probably Mutsumi, in part due to the extreme novelty of her design and how well they still managed to make the elegant portions of it fit together with her impressive musculature, and she's just super cute.

She just magically stops seething 24/7 after Maria tells her that she was, in fact, happy with the Sunflower Circus. Was that really something Nanami even had to hear? Would she have forced Sunflower to disband if Maria didn't have to drag her half-dead self in front of Nanami to tell her that it's alright? Nanami feels like she was written too antagonistically for the role she ended up playing.Also, Mizuka's dad marrying Maria was funny, definitely caught me off-guard. What is their age gap even? Shouldn't it be like 20 years at minimum? Maria was 8 when she first met him, and he was in his 20s at the very least.But yeah, as a whole, it's a solid show. The first half was better, as everyone noted, but it's still fun and wholesome.

BUT, nanami simultaneously realizing HER dream, allowed her to understand what Maria wanted for the sunflower troupe, thus, she took the offer off the table and told them to keep being who they want to be together.To put it to you in a word, the actual plot writing was very very messy and all over the place, but the actual resolution for everything, the emotional climaxes, were entirely about the character's internal turmoils being resolved. It's why the ending works because it actually ignores the idea that the tournament matters and refocuses onto the girls properlyIt's why we were able to smile and be proud of Nanami for winning and also be proud of the Himas depsite them losing.

I binge watched it till episode 9 and might finish it today. But I will say as it is now, it's mid at best. The only relationships I really liked were the russian girl and the other adult girl and Mitch x Mizuka. The conflict feels very shallow and the Circus competition feels so brutally forced it's not even funny. They work up something interesting and bang they are friends again. The only side character that I felt had growth was the russian girls girlfriend, by putting aside her ego and accepting that she is not perfect. The magic girl and tomboy conflict was pretty bad. Feel like it could have been resolved better if it was turned around. By showing magic girl helping her in her time of need and then in return tomboy helped her.The twins conflict was actually pretty decent but once more the resolution was forced. The elephant being emasculated and not giving loud prööhs was a dissapointment. The abusive circus handler was also extremely forced. I'll give it a 6/10, something you watch once and then forget that it existed.
