This is how the anime industry works now. They're moving towards doing 12 episode seasons/cours instead of airing a constant stream of episodes like how parts 1-5 were done. We should be thankful netflix agreed to do a weekly release instead of the batch dumps like stone ocean. We'll get 3 cours of SBR over the next 1.5-2 years

Araki is also writing part 9 with this new format in mind. Part 9 has been split up into acts, with act 1 being the first third of the manga (ch 1-32). We're in act 2 of jojolands now. So act 1 will be the first cour of the part 9 anime, act 2 will be the second cour, and so on... He's creating clean breaks for the anime cours

Yeah you're right that there's more volumes and pages to get through. But I highly doubt it would take 15 episodes to get through the content of act 1. The end of jojolands volume 5 is when they beat bobby and lulu in the hospital and get the documents. It's not possible to have 12 episodes of them just getting the diamond from rohan, fighting the cats, fighting charming man, then fighting bobby and lulu. The end of jojolands volume 6 is them tricking howler on the yacht. They can't just stop the cour in the middle of the yacht heist. The first cour will end with howler signing the documents and his yacht sinking (end of act 1), it makes most sense. And it won't take 15 episodes either despite there being more pages

the opening has some classic western audio homages it's played by the electric guitar, if you pay attention you'll hear it, the oweowe ooo woo wee woo, you know the classic little cowboy/western sound that's usually played during a stand off? it's usually played with a flute, but they did it with an electric guitar in the OP so it's hard to notice.
it sounds western enough to me, it's just hard to notice because it's mixed with some like jazz or funk or whatever you would call that genre that the song is in, it's definitely a weird combination, but once you hear it, you realize it is pretty cowboyish and then the song becomes enjoyable.

i didn't notice those things on my first listen of the song, only on the third listen of the full OP did i notice all that.
