You get to garden, run a business, and help your community, and most importantly, you own land and can live fully self-sustainably. Red hair is pretty and unusual but still natural and fits the forest dweller aesthetic well.It's not always all of these, but the core of it is getting to live on your own terms at your own pace, close to nature, beholden to nobody. It's also just a good base for a story in general.
