While there is value in admitting to audiences that you have to market yourself in a way that's palatable (at least until you're too successful for anyone to care) to get ahead, rikka's been in a loop of "forced to do something she doesn't want to->capitulates->still doesn't find success but bucky's there and she'll do it for him", but now the only limit to hizumi is that she doesn't capitulate enough while rikka can?

On July 10, the day before the date, Kazuya goes around town making his final preparations while mentally working through the confession he wants to give Chizuru.

He looks back on the roughly two years since they first met. At the beginning, they were simply a "rental girlfriend and a customer", and he struggled with whether it was even right for him to develop genuine feelings for her. But the more he saw Chizuru's kindness, determination, strength, and consideration for others, the less he was able to hide what he felt.

Kazuya also addresses Chizuru's concern that perhaps the person he fell for was only "Mizuhara Chizuru" her polished rental-girlfriend persona. He rejects that distinction. To him, the beautiful and seemingly perfect Mizuhara is still part of "Ichinose Chizuru", he does not regard them as two fundamentally different people.

He recalls her question about the "true nature of love" and admits that, despite thinking about it constantly, he has had difficulty putting an answer into words. What he does know with certainty is that Chizuru is deeply important to him. He has never cared about another person in this way before, and he is profoundly grateful that meeting her allowed him to experience those feelings.

His commitment is also not conditional on getting the answer he wants. Even if they ultimately cannot become a couple, or if they end up apart, he wants to continue supporting her. If she is ever in trouble, he wants to be someone who will come running. He wants them to laugh together, cry together, and continue searching together until Chizuru herself understands what "love" means for her.

Kazuya then resolves that whenever she becomes uncertain or afraid, he will reassure her as many times as necessary "a hundred times, a thousand times, even a hundred million times".

The confession he has finally reduced everything to is extremely simple:

"I love you, Chizuru."
"I want you to go out with me."
