I think it's pretty obvious why older shows don't get discussed much:- People who have seen them have moved on and don't think about the shows actively, so they have nothing new and interesting to say- People who haven't seen them or are currently watching them are better served by not talking about them on /a/, since someone will surely post spoilers. Not even out of spite, they are just used to not having to spoiler these things and will blurt things out by accident.Ongoing shows don't have these problems, everyone can speculate on a relatively even footing and there is plenty of new material to fuel discussions, so the board naturally gravitates towards such threads. And once this recency bias is established, it becomes self-fulfilling since /a/ isn't the place to talk about older anime so not many Tutu fans will look for Tutu threads on /a/.Maybe an "Anime - retro" board could solve at least the last problem.
