I do think about this every now and then, I am not a fan of harems, but I find interesting the idea of having "experienced" girls who all suddenly lost their guy goin back and finding out they are competing with him.

Newfags have no idea how fucking MAD people got when Rihoko lost. We were pissed. I think somebody on the anime's staff got death threats. They probably made that entire second season primarily as a makeup season for Rihokofags.
