>>291334253That's actually the main flaw with the anime adaption, he doesn't show enough emotion when he needs to. I correctly assumed he was more emotional at key moments in the novels and found out I was right. An example would be when he first reunites with Paul, he cried in the novel but not in the anime which weakened both the moment but also didn't build up his stronger emotional attachment to Paul for later events. There's a couple of moments like that. Oh it came back to me, another one when was Zanoba and Cliff gave him a prosthetic hand, he felt lukewarm in the Anime as if it was a generic gift from a stranger rather than his best, incredibly loyal friends inventing a brand new technology just to give him a literal limb back.

The saying is something like "After becoming an adult men cry 3 times, their wedding, their first childs birth and their parents death". >>291334124As someone who marathoned all of Re:Zero while the last season's been airing, this series felt like it fell off pretty badly. The first two seasons were legitimately good, with the first one being excellent. I was on the edge of my seat. Then I got to the Priestella arc, and it was just boring. Return by Death felt like it had been exhausted as a storytelling tool, which is why the story didn't rely on it almost at all, but in return, Subaru grew shonen plot armor and could now lose an entire limb, then fly around everywhere as if nothing happened until it regrew. The latter half was also very basic shonenshit. Then I got to this arc, and while the idea with amnesiac Subaru was legitimately interesting, its resolution was unsatisfying, and the tower felt very boring as a setting. Emilia also stopped being interesting; she hasn't been interesting since the Sanctuary. She's just way too naive; having her around feels like dealing with a somewhat stupid child. So basically, I don't really feel as impressed with Re:Zero as I was. This also contrasts with Mushoku - I marathoned it right after R:Z, it was more consistent in its quality, and the current season didn't disappoint at all.
