Apple specific as it seems but this has been a common feature in reader apps on android for years.
You'd be more pressed to find a device with a similar aspect ratio that isn't a tablet. This is why foldables are actually a pretty nice and convenient idea albeit extremely prone to wear and tear and dirt and generally aren't a good option for the ordinary consumer.
