>>291340735Not all Miyazaki is like that. Mainly Wind Rises and the Heron are insufferable. Laputa Castle in the Sky is pure genuine fun optimistic adventure. Easily his best, and Japan agrees. The west can't just enjoy a coming of age adventure story so it gets slept on when compared to all his other stuff like Nauiscaa, Howl, Mononoke, and Spirited Away that are usually hailed as the best.
