This is Hattusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire in the 14th century BC. This is the story of a girl who rides the sultry winds across the vast stretches of Anatolia.

Is this how you hold Ishtar?
Another evil woman.
>>291599455Yes. Ishtar is a chaotic god of anarchy and war except when she has been married to a king. Manhandling her is a step on that way.

>>291600881Kairu bros, we are getting cucked in our own palace...
So if Yuri invented vaccination, does this mean that the Hittite population will be much more healthier with fewer people dying? This, coupled with the mass production of iron and having superior chariots, should make them the dominant power of the day changing the course of history.
We also miss this kinda hot Yuri here. In general it looks like this episode went unusually fast, adapting the equivalent of more than a volume (the whole second half of v8 and a bit more than half of v9).In addition to cutting some panels, they’ve also changed a few details here and there: in the manga, for example, Yuri is already in the crowd when Kail arrives to pick her up, she doesn’t show up at the last second. These are all small things that hardly change the story at all, but they’re interesting to note in an adaptation that has so far been faithful almost to a fault to the source material
>>291601171Yeah, this episode felt rushed, a voice over narration to glance over a lot of events is always a telltale sign. Maybe because this was largely a filler subplot they decided to abridge it so as to not waste too much time on it. It would take more than an episode otherwise.

Look at this sick ass Grim Reaper, though>>291601286Yep. I guess that the plan is to wrap the series with the first two chapters of volume 14, most likely some cuts had to be made along the way

I don't know why I thought Yuri would stop being stupid after a certain point but it seems I must have dream it.
did I just watch vax propaganda?
>>291608141This is inoculation, not vaccination, and it's pretty anachronistic. In order for them to come up with this, they'd have to be able to reliably identify diseases, which is actually hard enough that even modern medicine cannot always correctly diagnose a disease even with sophisticated tests. If all you have is readily visible symptoms and folk wisdom how do you distinguish between two similar fever-causing germs? One might be possible to inoculate against, but the other might not be.
>>291599640>how is this one developing so far?Second half is better than the first.
>>291599640>i'm liking kanata kara
>>291601084According to ancient tablets, the Hittite empire was racked with plagues. I'm not sure which plague this episode was referring to but the tablets record a 20 year long plague that devastated the empire because it particularly affected youths with high lethality. This plague did kill King Šuppiluliuma I and his heir, but what the plague is still remains unknown. Some think it was rabbit fever, but nobody knows.

>>291608303It's not actually that anarchronistic, folk inoculation has been documented for a very long time, at least a thousand years. Just because people didn't know how it worked doesn't mean they didn't do it anyways.
>>291606644over dressed
Hilarious that he dies merely seconds after she says this

Also why are Egyptian troops stationed in Hattusa?
>>291611717to get Yuri
>>291611717The Hittite Empire frequently made use of foreign troops, but I can't recall if they ever made use of Egyptians. More usually, it was the troops of their vassals and clients they'd call on as garrison forces, or to put down rebellions in other provinces of the Empire. Pitting their subordinate kingdoms against one another was a good policy to maintain dominance over them, and also kept their troops away from home, so if those troops rebelled, their homes and families would be defenseless from the main Hittite army. Not sure how it would work with a rival empire like Egypt.
>>291611717>>291613536In the manga he introduces himself as a military envoy, which makes a bit more sense. I'm not sure if it's a difference in translation or adaptation, though
>>291613589>I'm not sure if it's a difference in translation or adaptation, thoughIn the anime he uses the term 駐屯部隊 which refers to garrison troops so who knows
