So what's Hisoka's future look like? Is Togashi gonna have him going out in a blaze of glory after killing a bunch more Spider, maybe even clowning on Cuckrollo in a re-match (on his terms this time)? We know that he's one of Togashi's favorite characters so I guess him surviving for no other reason than that is not out of the question but I kinda don't see him surviving the shit show that is about to go down on that ship.

The others serve some obvious purpose to the story. Hisoka is "just" there to fuck around fucking shit up. Him dying would "merely" mean Togashi having one less tool to inject random chaos into situations. He's a dual antagonist-ally trickster character that's fun and beloved by fans but story-wise he's not really at all relevant to the plot outside of his connection to the Phantom Troupe. Unlike, say, Kurapika or Ging, some other character(s) could take his place. So if the Spooders do get finished (or largely finished) during this arc, then Hisoka might be, too, as they were his primary raison d'être if you will. Although he's more on the level of Cuckrollo in terms of importance so if Hisoka is gonna bite the dust, I'd bet it's only after/as he does, not to some random shitter like Feitan.
