I like how the author manages to capture the cats prey drive in Fran. The tendency to torment prey for practice, surplus killing of more prey than victory requires, and use of more extreme killing methods than are required just to try them out. These are all things house cats do.

I agree that she has a very strong will, but she would have died in episode 1 without Shishou, and would have died many times since without him. That's why it feel a bit unearned. Every victory so far, at least in the anime, was thanks to Shishou.

Fran would be a good RPG character model in any game set that allows Beastkin. Just remember that Fran is a cat in a human body with only tail and ears showing, not a human girl with cat ears and tail. This author is very good at capturing cat behavior with Fran and the director of the anime is so far understanding that, so she overkills and will injure herself to escape apparent death and has stress analgesia so she doesn't even register she is hurting herself for a short time. All domestic cat traits along with the 40millisecond reaction speed because cats eyes, ears and wiskers communicate directly to their brain stem and bypass the higher brain. Cats naturally have what Zen masters spend their whole lives trying to attain and do it better from kittenhood.
