>>291667661Chapter end.In case you're curious, Byakkomaru is themed after adult toku in general but specifically draws the most inspiration in aesthetic and writing style from the 12-episode Lion Maru G. It's going to be a while before it gets fleshed out, though.
>>291667345So they have adult Power Rangers in Japan? I've lost much of my sympathy for her when she can just watch this stuff.
>>291667731Watching late night shows made specifically for (wo)manchildren is not any more respectable to the average normalfag than early morning ones made for actual children (some would probably even view it more negatively), retard
>>291667803Also adult toku is extremely uncommon due to it being more niche. The only really famous adult-aimed toku is GARO which gets very inconsistent releases as opposed to the reliable airing of the Toei or Tsuburaya works (hiatuses notwithstanding). Aside from GARO, most adult toku also tend to be random one-offs that also often might be associated with one of the kids' franchises anyway (like Kamen Rider Amazons).
>>291667701Thanks OP
>>291667329mom is "out in the city doing laundry" what?
>>291667603I've never seen a manga give people an exploitable on purpose
>>291667701Thanks for the dump
>>291667345Huh, did the live-action series touch on not-GARO?
>>291668900Oh, probably should have given that one of the TL notes. It's wordplay combined with a cultural reference. In Momotaro, his parents were busy cutting wood and doing laundry, which are a homophone for playing music (for Nozomu) and laundry is a bit obscure slang for relaxing.
>>291669199Ohh i see thanks
>>291669182Nah, the drama was mainly focused on fitting major story arcs with a limited runtime so it didn't include a lot of the in-universe shows so it could dedicate time to the primary series of Juushouwan and Emerjason. Also it makes practical sense since it takes a lot more time and money to make stuff for a live-action version than a manga/anime version where you just have to draw it.Of course I did really enjoy the drama even with those limitations. The drama is actually extremely faithful in general, like the Emerjason and Lovecute themes directly lift lyrics from the manga. The only kind of odd parts to me are that in the drama Damien's secret base scene being themed around Juushouwan which isn't in continuity with Juushouwan when they don't have that sort of base, and Stranger V's visuals. I mass produced suits rather than getting their own made for props that would only be used in a couple shots. Also the Stranger V DVD showcases the drama's depiction of Taifuu which struck me as weird for how different it is from his manga design.
>>291667345I have never watched GARO. Always meant to though, since I saw that one scene of like, I forget what it was exactly, but they had these fat monk guys hitting a bullet with hammers to speed it up and launch it. Seemed cool.I did watch Vanishing Line though. Still permanently buttmad we never got more adventures with Sword>what if our supreme magical knight was an American bruiser that eats 4 inch thick steaks and beats motherfuckers with his bare hands
>>291667731>>291668010There's also the fact that, in the cases of stuff like Kamen Rider Amazons, it's not even necessarily all that more ""mature"" than the average Rider. It's just gorier and still really cheesy or over the top in the same exact vein that people would look down on the main series. Although it is worth noting that Rider is generally more "all ages" while Sentai is generally more for kids, so she can get clowned on in that regard
>>291667407It's really only the gore against humans you have to worry about though. Going back to this >>291671042 the original Kamen Rider Amazon series from the Showa period had him ripping apart kaijin and having them with bloody exposed bitsAnd hell, isn't Ultraman even worse in that regard?
>>291667448>Kusonic ManiaOh no, he performed at /v/
>>291667625This guy was a pro at hiding his porno
>>291667701Thanks for the read and the work, OP>The "G" is short for 'Ghetto' or alternatively "Gigolo".Goddamn, I gotta check that out
>>291667582>No revealing
>>291671074Something about the way Ultraseven's Eye Slugger effortlessly glides through kaiju always sends me.
>>291667329Must be like wading through a treasure chest for a little kid.
>>291667367I never really considered that could be a reason to have a show airing at night. Makes sense when you think about it.
>>291667385Auntie took damage!
>>291667432You got permission, Kano. He'll take the heat if she starts crying at night.
>>291667559I remember that.
>>291667582>You can't have vehicle scenes without a seatbeltDoes a kid even notice these things?
>>291667625The roadkill example is on point.
>>291667641LMAO, she doesn't even deny it.
>>291667701Thx mate.I love how while they are talking Chii-chan's only concern is watching the show.
>>291670370It's a little weirder, they actually borrowed some local hero stuff. That's one of the G-FIVE helmets.
>>291671074It depends on the series and era. Leo was considered so dark and violent that they kept trying to retool it until saying FUCK IT in the final stretch because their funding got cut. Modern Ultra doesn't really blow up/mutilate their kaiju suits anymore both for content guidelines and because there's no telling when they'll need to recycle the monster or its parts.
