That the adventurers would either come to him, or leave and maybe come back later better prepared to raid a goblin nest. So with no campfire to signal "we're still here", no one bothered to follow up and see what they were doing. So it's not that shooting the bow was taxing, but that Necromancer was struggling to keep Minotaur Girl animated by that point, and her soul may have been trying to pass on by that point.
