Bit of a short chapter, no?
>>
One thing I despise is that the anime made Mugino’s beams green. I’m pretty certain they were never stated to have a color other than white in the novels.
>>
>>291690620
about average for item
>>
>>291690806
Wasn't it that thing where Blue/green have the same word and they flipped coin. More important wasn't Mikoto's Lightning purple
>>
>>291690836
Pretty sure Fuze Kazakiri that had the purple (in WW3). I don’t think Misaka ever was said to have purple lightning once at all.
>>
>>291690937
>"For one thing, this heat isn't caused by the sunlight," said Mikoto.
>She snapped her fingers and a small line of purple electricity ran the fingertips.

From NT16. I have no idea why I remember this.
>>
File: purple koto.jpg (994 KB, 3028x1600)
994 KB JPG
>>291690937
It is purple on OT3 cover and describe as such in the Novel.
>The sound of the purple sparks flowing from Mikoto’s body grew heavier and sharper.
>Purple electricity was overflowing from her entire body. With just a light flick of her thumb, Misaka Mikoto could fire the Railgun she was named for at three times the speed of sound.
>The spear of purple electricity moved forward at the speed of light and held enough destructive force to knock someone unconscious
Also the NT 15 colored page
>>
>>291690996
>>291691037
Wait, was it always like that? I could have sworn some of the earlier illustrations in OT had it be blue
>>
Extremely ironic for this mourning of Hanano due to what her identity is and what she has done in the latest novel.
>>
finally read all of the tld chs of the misaki manga, now about to start astral budy
oh yeah, how good is the railgun manga? I also downloaded it that one but not sure if I should read the item ln or the railgun manga once im done with astral budy
>>
>>291691912
Railgun kind of ruins the rest of the series since everything else pales in comparison.
>>
>>291691998
lol
>>
>>291692038
?
>>
>>291691998
Not really. It was pretty good but then everything after Daihasesei just felt meh. Extremely disappointing ending arc too.
>>
>>291691912
Railgun before Astral Buddy. AB follows up on the third and fourth arcs of Railgun. MO is also a sequel to AB but it doesn’t contain any spoilers for AB.
>>291691998
Not really. After the third arc, nothing in railgun could reach that level for the rest of its publication. Index is obviously superior, and I’d say that the Item LNs might have already surpassed Railgun.
>>
>fake ITEM
>fake #6
>trying to replace mugino
>replacing the voice on the phone
>Aihana's name lending gimmick
>the spoilers from the current volume
I wonder if ITEM will continue after Identity theme gets sorted out
>>
>>291691998
Most regulars have been prefering ITEM for a long while since Railgun was in absolute dogshit hell for 5 years then ended with a whimpering fart. It lost its magic after the first half, the recent storytime made it abundantly clear. Jailbreakers had loads of potential but then it answered nothing and we led into said retarded flashback arc.
>>
>>291692145
You didn't really expect it to end with her pregnant did you? It was always going to have a disappointing end since that would be the only satisfying way to end it.
>>
>>291691912
Railgun, then Astral Buddy. Shame you missed the read-along a few months back, they were fun.
>>
>>291692185
This isn't a democracy, if you disagree with me that just makes you wrong.
>>
>>291692197
I expected progression. I still dont buy that they couldnt do Railgun shit in NT, they had no problems following people other then Mikoto for many chapters at a time and its not like Mikoto was attached to Touma 24/7 in NT. Its fucking bullshit.
>>

something that I found weird when reading MO was that the author, artist, or whoever is in charge have no issues with the girls beating the shit out each other but they avoid at all cost showing their panties, like its fucking ridiculous because there are a lot of scenarios in which we their panties should be visible but they always censor them in very lame ways, which is weird because they had no issues showing us a naked misaki and mikoto in the special pool ch. oh and they also showed something a bit gory that time when the only remaining parts of a guy were his feet

so gore might be ok but no panties lmao

I have a question for those of you still reading the LNs. How is GT? Do they cohere well with OT/NT? Do you feel rewarded for your patience sticking with a two decade-long series, or are you following it out of obligation/sunk cost fallacy? More to the point, does it seem like Kamachi is still having fun coming up with new characters and concepts and things that are worth the plot detours? Or do you get a sense of editor-mandated water treading and cynical fan service?

Let's say tomorrow Kamachi got out of bed and said to himself "I think I've had my fun with the To Aru LN series, the spinoffs will continue but it's time to start wrapping up the LNs". How many novels would it take him to do so satisfactorily and tie up all the loose ends?

You should at least watch 13 for fanservice, and 14 is a sort of epilogue for the first arc. From episode 20 onwards, although they’re anime original, they’re canon (just like the OVA). Besides, it’s not as bad as a lot of people say; what’s really bad is the STUDY arc in the second season, although the final episode is great because of all the fanservice it has.

The villains are incredibly unthreatening but are presented as a big deal, Saten does things that a normal Level 0 girl wouldn't have the ability nor knowledge to pull off, and it's just a big drop off from the high of the Sisters arc. Do you enjoy watching the girls go shopping for rice cookers? Can you buy Saten destroying a battle mech with a baseball bat? If so then you might enjoy it more than /a/ did while it was airing. I watched Silent party, nothing was good about it. The final episode was just the opening playing on repeat for the entire episode. It genuinely gave me a headache. It also got one extremely minor mention in one railgun spinoff and never again. Characters act extremely stupid, like Misaka accepting herself to get drugged, when she could just strike fast and move to get the thing. STUDY are the worst antagonists in the franchise, no character as they all blend with each other, no backstory as it is just “oh they smart low level. They upset that high levels are focused on” and does basically nothing with that. It is worse than the Nectar arc.

Aleister was depressed asf in GT12 after touma's dead, shit he alongside index, accel and alice were the only ones who took his dead seriously.

Aleister while crying was asking herself what she should tie her existence to after touma's dead and if there was any reason for her to live (RIP Lilith lol) and wants to protect him more than anyone at this point.

For starters it cant actually have happened without weird timeline fuckery. They "canonized" it as an event that "happened", but it would have had to have been expedited and gone totally different for it to work on the main timeline in any capacity.

Then you get to Nagai's insistence on not following world building. Kuroko's teleport is essentially a portal gun in canon. She conserves momentum. This was shown in easier seasons of the anime, so this isnt even a "novels/manga vs anime" thing. Yet Nagai decided to make it not conserve momentum in the episode 1 filler of Railgun S, and then extended it to silent party. Hence all the shit that happens at the end of the arc would mean that Mikoto/Kuroko should be fucking dead from having no way to stop the fall. Yes, this absolutely is a deal breaker because if Kuroko can manipulate fucking momentum, she can solve just about anything in the arc itself even without lethal force. It inherently makes no sense, even setting aside blatant inconsistencies in the plot.

This isnt the end of these problems. The entire arc hinged on Mikoto drinking retard juice. She could have solves everything instantly otherwise. And mechs that somehow she cant manipulate, even though she manipulates far more advanced mech much later in the timeline, by the hundreds.

The story in and of itself is lackluster and boring. The loli character that they introduce is somehow even more boring which is astounding since she actually had a cute design. The villians are fucking lame. The only thing good anyone can ever say about it is the ending because they play most of the Railgun OP/Eds to try to artificially drum up hype and have a big "everyone showed up to help" moment because they were banking on you forgetting how poor and nonsensical the story was leading up to this point. Said ending, again, should have resulted in Mikoto and Kuroko dying since Kuroko cant manipulate momentum.

They could have adapted Railgun SS1 instead.

Anon, Mikoto's Railgun was always an energy beam of sorts. The stats they give you for it (coin 3x the speed of sound) coincide with a common rifle bullet. In the show it was always a great beam of energy that acted more like cannon.
As for how the beams met, the rails those "railguns" put out are not physical like a real railgun, they are being projected out from Mikoto / the Lance so it is basically a contest between the strange electromagnetic force with their projectiles stuck in the middle. It's Esper nonsense vs Super Science that mimics it.

>As for how the beams met, the rails those "railguns" put out are not physical like a real railgun, they are being projected out from Mikoto / the Lance so it is basically a contest between the strange electromagnetic force with their projectiles stuck in the middle.
Which isnt how a railgun would work. No, it had the energy around it in the novel / manga and did way more damage than an object that size, moving that speed can do. Esper powers do not use normal physics and are borderline magic.
>Which isnt how a railgun would work.
Good, otherwise her coins would be no more powerful than .30-06 from an M1 Garand and slower to fire.

I said electromagnetic fields, the coin, bullet, hitting each other are still in the field, they can't go back, up, down, left or right, only forward so they are forced to stay together in the center as each side pumps more power in. As for the beam part around that, that is the Esper power part we do not understand, we have never been told why her Railgun does that in any media but it does.

>Can't deflect if they are held in place by magnetic rails on all sides
This would assume absolute perfect control of all electromagnetic forces exerted on both sides, which Mikoto absolutely can not do and the Kihara certainly couldnt do either. That would take control on such a level that Mikoto would nearly level 6 in power.

>"It's apparently something like this."
>Just as she spoke, an orange spear of light suddenly and silently shot past Kamijou's head. It was more like a laser than a spear. He could only tell it had originated from the girl's thumb because the afterimage of light stretched back to it.
>Almost like thunder, the noise rumbled in with a slight delay. As a shockwave tore through the air around his ears, Kamijou's sense of balance was thrown off. He staggered and glanced over his shoulder.
>The instant the orange light struck the road surface on the bridge, the asphalt was blown away like an airplane making an emergency landing on the ocean. Even after traveling a thirty-meter path of utter destruction and stopping, the orange afterglow was still burning the air like an afterimage.
The weird energy component was always there, the only difference is that with the projectiles stuck together in their overlapping rails, they had to keep pouring in the energy.
>>291698764
>It literally didnt, look at it. It impacted and slammed right through. There was no "beam struggle".
You can see the same effect happen in picrel, it shows shots of their heads watching, there is definitely a struggle. Also it is not a bean struggle, it is objects locked in the center and the light is them pouring in power.
>This would assume absolute perfect control of all electromagnetic forces exerted on both sides, which Mikoto absolutely can not do and the Kihara certainly couldnt do either. That would take control on such a level that Mikoto would nearly level 6 in power.
I don't see where you get this idea. Instead of a metal railgun accelerating the coins there is magnetic fields extending outward from both parties. Basically the coins are still in the cannon so to speak.

>>

As seen in OT6, if a supernatural force is moving ordinary objects, IB negates the momentum the supernatural force is doing on said object. If Touma blocks using IB, his is not moving and momentum of the object stops. What is insane is having enough money that the decision to buy it or not does not imapct your financial situation. You are not supposed to buy it, not even save up and buy it, it isn't for normal people. Unless you are trying to infiltrate a rich person space, you have no use for such a thing.
BTW, Railgun is that kind of rich, from an in-character magazine interview.

He shouldn’t due to him negating meltdowner in general. Even if you say it was a passive effect, Stiyl’s magic produces heat yet Touma is unaffected. Around real fire, he does feel the heat. It seems that if the surrounding effect is caused by supernatural forces, it gets passively negated until the force causing the affect touches Touma, not including IB of course.

If I already watched the railgun anime and want to read the manga, should I start from the beginning or can I pick up the manga from where the left ?
>>
>>291703307
You can pick it up. Though you might as well wait for the last Railgun anime at this point.

Read from the beginning, season 1 butchered the level upper arc into being unrecognizable.

>Almost 2k for this BS.
Pre memory loss Touma was right. Right about what? About everything regarding rich girls.
>>
>>291703823
Theres only 2 arcs left for Railgun to cover and there is a non-zero chance they just do what the 3rd season did and adapt them both

God I hope Kamachi explain what happened with Awakened Uiharu

I just woke up from a dream where I had to go do a lasik eye surgery consultation. I was chilling in a room and Mugino walks in. And she insisted we had to do a procedure right now or I would suffer from "cornea cryptosis". She wouldnt explain what that even was when I asked. She just bustled me along. I remember being surprised at how small she was, I thought she would be taller. Next thing I know Im strapped down into a medical chair. Im trying to move but Im tied down really good. Takitsubo shows up but she just kinda stands around in a dress and says shes here for moral support. Saiai is holding a camera and says she wants to make her own B-movies because the current ones have sucked lately. At this point Im freaking out and demanding to see Mugino's credentials.

She handed me a banana peel and told me to hold still as green light winked around her.

I woke up to a burning smell and flipped the fuck out until I realized it was just one of my neighbors burning some shit in their bbq pit.

Holy shit. For this robbery, I'd expect Misaki and Uiharu's used panties.

90 percent sure that some random magazine is going to explain that shit, like how it revealed the scavenger leader’s name.

To the anon who just read Mental Out, what did you think? Did you enjoy the extra chapters?
>>
>>291707125
Mainly I just kept thinking that she is a shit.

On that note, this shot seems to confirm the wiki guesstimate if you account for the shoes (which we can tell add 5cm because Railgun explicitly puts Frenda at 150). Also Choubi is embarrassingly small.

>>
>>291707490
>just shy off 170cm so between 167 and 169 cms
>minus 3 to 5 cms from those shoe soles
So she's somewhere between 162 to 166 cms and if you average the difference, that's 164 cms which is close to what the wiki says. Mystery solved, I guess.

Touma is great though. I'll tell you what, since you'll be through with Railgun and AB relatively quickly, you should read at least the first few LNs right after, and maybe you'll realize why he's /our/ guy.

You'd be writhing in the floor with a seizure well before you lay a finger on her.
