I forgot how hilarious some of those tropes, or maybe it started some of them, were. Shiryu starts with an indestructible shield, only destroyable because he also had the hardest gauntlet so they broke each other. Later on nearly every guy he fights manages to break the shield in one strike, most he gets from them is surprise his arm didn’t go together.That shield is the biggest jobber in the franchise. At the same time it fulfills its role in protecting him.
