Not even close to season 1
>>
you know you don't have to bait to kickstart a discussion thread, right?

yeah part 1 was absolute dogshit, even if this was mid it was much better

My main issues were that really none of the characters were the heavy hitter memorable from the jump members of the original series. They were fine but not as good. Also since it wasn't a crew story each character got a lot less individual screen time since except for Roman and D and the parts with Wiek and Talia/her mother no one was together. The story itself is very good but I rewatched Season 1 after just to confirm and yes you're fucking locked in and on board at the end of episode 1. Not so here, I found myself not really liking this one or the characters until around midway point when I suddenly realized I was invested and cared, the story hooks and shit were hitting with me.

The story itself overall is a little over the top even for the setting... It starts to get ridiculous. Like if some dude with an experimental Arasaka weapon declared fucking war on them and blasted it to the world like he'd die. Even if you're superman they'd send a whole fucking military or bomb you from orbit. Also where the fuck was Smasher during all this ?

Dead. Weak's story takes place after V's, which takes place after David's.

Wallahi don't

I'm still mad such a cool looking gun was wasted on such a shit character. Every time he used it, it either missed or did the bare minimum.

OP isn't baiting, it's really a far cry from season 1. Someone on MAL put it well:
>Ultimately, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is a textbook definition of a mediocre sequel capitalizing on a famous brand. It’s a disjointed and bloated mess that loses its binding thread and forces an artificial emotional payout at the end. It’s not an unwatchable disaster, but from a screenwriting and structural standpoint, it is deeply disappointing.
And not only is the writing bad, they didn't manage to create even a single cool scene that I'd like to rewatch. So no need to rush watching it at any rate.

It's mediocre in the best way possible. Watch it if you are just a fan of the video game or table top RPG, if you're a Trigger fan boy or just love anime, or if you're into the art and animation. I was disappointed but I also don't feel like I wasted my time because I enjoyed the visuals at least.

Damn i'm hyped now. The more something is hated in this autistic place, the better it usually is

4chan's opinions have been actually correct funny enough. This season was lacking soul, it had a good set up but it didn't execute or stick the landing. I think the writers were too busy trying to meta game the audience. Sometimes it's okay, and extremely satisfying, to do the expected thing. If it ain't broke don't fix it, and there's no reason to reinvent the wheel.

It's actually much better than season 1 but don't tell anyone that.
