The anime for this did so much fucking damage it's insane. They advertised it as some wholesome single father story to try to stoke paternal instincts and get the nipponese men to have sex, and in the process ignored what the manga was actually about so all the normgroids got blindsided when they happened upon the source material. And, of course, they're still trying to rationalize it by saying the ending came out of nowhere and it was the author ruining their le heckin ebin wholesome chungus anime about single parenthood. Rin never saw Daiki as a father, from the very beginning this was the case. Rin was born out of a very strange coupling and her mom is genuinely awful. There were plenty of clues all along that Rin was the one raising Daiki and not the other way around. Normalfags are a blight.
