Why doesn't Kurumi just invest in a mutual fund/etf that returns 12% annually? Assuming she makes the minimum wage, if she invests 80% of her earnings (she does live at home with minimal expenses) and works 20 hours per week with a sneed capital of 3 million yen It would only take like 6 years to get 20 million yen. In fact if she started this while in high school she would already be halfway there.

>I dont understand how every japanese isn't rich the housing is so cheap
The biggest problem with Japan’s economy isn’t housing prices,it’s that food is too expensive.
Japan has a population of 120 million, but its land can only support 30 million people.
As a result, the Japanese government relies heavily on food imports, and it is very difficult for ordinary people to afford enough to eat.
This is also why, despite being a developed country, the Japanese people are relatively short.
Food is so expensive that ordinary people cannot afford meat and are forced to eat only rice.
Moreover, rice in Japan is now so outrageously expensive that there have even been cases of rice thieves.
>>
>>291860712
>I don't understand how the Japanese economy just cratered almost 40 years ago and never really recovered
The Plaza Accord.
The United States forced the yen to appreciate, thereby creating Japan’s economic bubble.
Then the bubble burst, and the Japanese entered their “Lost 30 Years.”

It's okay to have made mistakes.
You can sleep in on a lazy day with $0.
You can play with a baby with $0.
You can bring peace and comfort to a partner, you can stroke their hand, you can hold them with $0.

Youtube videos have told me China is headed for a gigantic population crash because of the 1 child policy. The only way the current hierarchy shifts and stays shifted is with another world war.
>>
>>291867085
China is actually currently facing a labor surplus; last year alone, 20 million college students graduated.
Serious population aging won’t occur for another 20 years.
However, most Western countries may face economic collapse within the next five years.
There's no point in thinking about the future anymore.
>>
>>291867071
China has already overcome the US in terms of economic importance, they basically produce everything useful with the exception of quality semiconductors. Just look around in your room, chances are most of your belongings were Made in China. But as it turns out, excercising control over compute is crucial for maintaining military dominance, and that's all the US needs to keep the chinks in check.

>>291867085
The population crash is coming for all except the Amish, but it doesn't matter, since AI automation is in the process of making a lot of people superfluous to the economy.
>>
>>291867142
America and friends unfortunately have an iron grip to the point any negative economic impacts will skip over their industry and leave all the bullshit on the lap of the people. China does have a chance to overcome them but it won't stay that way like I said.
>>291867145
China is in an exponentially worse position than anyone else long term. I don't think even Japan and Korea match it.
>AI
isn't working as it stands and faces so many barriers we won't realistically see any true societal change from it for at least a generation, maybe 2 or 3.
>>
>>291867199
>China does have a chance to overcome them but it won't stay that way like I said.
It’s only a matter of time before AI replaces human labor.
After all, in a capitalist system, AI is always cheaper than humans.
There used to be a joke about this:
Ten Indian programmers writing code plus one white programmer fixing bugs costs less than five white programmers.
Now, the Indians have been replaced by AI.
And AI is even cheaper than Indians.
>>
>>291867071
Goal posts move and statistics get manipulated in a way to make the US look like it's on top. That's what GDP was made for in the first place. It naturally favours systems where a lot of money changes hand no matter the value created.

Naw, South Korea is in the worst position by far. They can only go downhill. Worst fertility rate in the world, hostile neighbor with nukes right at the border, and the national economy is utterly dependent on like two corrupt megacorps and a handful girl and boybands. Totally unsustainable and they'd probably be fucked already if they weren't useful to the US as a vassal, allowing US troops to keep a foot in the door of the mainland.
>>
>>291867395
>South Korea
North Korea recently opened a trade bridge connecting it to China.
As a result, North Korea’s economy will shift entirely toward China and Russia.
They can achieve economic takeoff by exporting cheap labor and trading resources.
Meanwhile, South Korea’s future looks bleak; it lacks resources and population, and the U.S. economy is in a severe recession.
>>
>>291867199
A quiet population decline is better than importing violent browns who dont do shit.
It's the argument used by nips here for over a decade and I dont see how it is wrong or why it can't apply to China.

This graph strikes me as strange, because it looks like the Japanese economy was keeping up with the US pretty well right until the turn of the millennium whereas Germany stagnated for those 2 decades instead. Then Japan finally goes into recession after the 2008 financial crisis whereas Germany suddenly experiences a massive boom period that lets it drive past Japan? I get the feeling the data here can't be quite correct or at least isn't visualized properly. The end of the bubble era isn't visible at all.

>ITT people think China has a chance
The best scenario is they manage to create a front together with India + Russia + Middle East countries + some random African countries and directly clash with the US + allies while manipulating the political climate of South America into chaos at the same time. And even then, the US will most likely still come out on top. In reality, Russia, Japan (and Korea depending on how things go with NK in the 20 years of cold war between now and world war 3), will probably sit out by taking neutral stand and only (secretly) offer minor support for the side they (secretly) support
Europe will most likely be the direct cause of another world war (again) so I would say people should avoid Europe as an option for living. Australia is generally safe in case people want to avoid the upcoming world war
>what about other Asia countries
Getting by, especially when 20 years or so of cold war will be very exhausting and also factoring in the increasing natural disasters
>w-wait, China won't attack Taiwan and start WW3?
China vs Taiwan is local in scale, will never be the start of WW3 no matter how long and intense that war may be

China's best scenario is that they DO NOT clash directly with the US but rather keep accumulating economic power. But who knows what Xi will do when he starts feeling his age and aching for some grand legacy like Putin did. If anything has a good chance to fire off WW3, it would in fact be an attempted invasion of Taiwan, assuming the US won't sit idly by to let it happen. The fuck is supposed to happen in Europe to drag the rest of the world in? The old tired nations of the West don't want to engage in any war and Russia is already overextended just fighting its next-door neighbor. There's no kindling for WW3 in Europe anymore. China provoking a direct US military intervention is the only thing that could possibly escalate towards full scale global war.

tldr.- The Jews

If you can read, Western powers were worried about Japan rising, made the infamous Plaza Acoord to kneecap them and instead only rushed their rise, now that's 60% or so self-inflicted greed that brought land speculation and irresponsible lending that led to the famous Bubble... HOWEVER Japan let it burst, while in most of the world they keep inflating it and we will wish we got only 40 or so years of stagnation like Japan.

Most of the west have the same issues as China but it's only an issue for China (and Japan until China took over) for some reason.
Migrants are mentioned because in the west they compensate for the dwingling fertility but they are not good enough to avoid a competency crisis.

The question is why
There's "More money" going around than ever before, and yet every state is decaying or actively decomposing. Trust is nonexistent. People no longer just assume their vote is a joke, they actively wish for the downfall of their rulers. Doomposting breached into the common population, it's no longer limited to madmen and fringe elements. The rich moved on to planning how to not get eaten alive when the mob comes knocking. Extremes would make the Great Depression demagogues blush saturate evening programs and tiktok reels equally.

So where is the fucking money?

They say of all addictions, gambling has the highest suicide rate, because there's a physical limit to how much alcohol, weed, drugs etc you can put in your body, and consequently a person being supported in some other way can just keep going for a long time and it's only mildly ruinous to their circumstances, especially if they're supported.
By comparison gambling/compulsive trading drains you completely, pins your net worth to $0 and holds it there, never once letting you up off the floor, costs the entirety of your income no matter how many times you rebuild, keeping you perpetually in despair
>>
>>291879219
If I had to guess, either tough times in the US will cause a national incident that sends it into martial law or China's conflict with Taiwan will inflate to a point everyone gets involved out of desperation for semi-conductors and stuff. It's honestly a miracle trade has been such an effective substitute for war as long as it has.

No, you have no idea how much the Japanese government loves to intervene in exchange rates.
Over the past year, the Bank of Japan has directly used its own dollar reserves to buy large amounts of yen, artificially manipulating the exchange rate.
This has caused the yen to surge and plummet dozens of times.
So yes, Japan’s foreign exchange market is in much worse shape than its stock market.

China - or lets say the Chinese state - has the advantage of being governed by ruthless commies. They didn't have an issue with starving millions of their people back when those were still young and healthy on average, they didn't have an issue with throwing minorities into concentration camps just a few years ago, they still don't have an issue with harvesting organs from death row prisoners, so what makes you think they'll have an issue with letting useless eaters starve to death once it comes to that? In the meantime, the lopsided Chinese demographics are probably to the advantage of the state too. They'll just repurpose their surplus of utterly expandable incels as cannon fodder when they get the opportunity. Sure sucks to be a low status man or old person in China, but that doesn't mean the Chinese state will suffer from the fertility crisis more than Western nations where life isn't quite so cheap.

Well, I’m actually a believer in the Great Depression 2.0; I believe the U.S. will plunge into a full-scale economic collapse due to the AI bubble.
Another possibility is hyperinflation, with the dollar completely devaluing into worthless scrap paper.
That, too, would lead to economic chaos.
It’s an unsolvable deadlock.
And Japan will be the victim of this economic disaster.

The problem is that the Japanese economy is highly dependent on the United States.
Exports to the U.S. account for approximately 19%–20% of Japan’s total exports.
Most Japanese cars are sold to the U.S. consumer market.
If the U.S. were to fall into a full-blown economic recession, Japan’s export-driven economy would collapse completely.
Moreover, with the yen currently depreciating sharply, the Bank of Japan must raise interest rates further. As corporate financing becomes difficult, a large number of zombie companies will go under.
Japan will collapse before the U.S. does.
You can tell that the Japanese economy is on the verge of collapse from the rising rate of prostitution among Japanese women.

>host clubs are luxuries
Japan’s economic model is both modern and backward.
Many Japanese people believe that once a woman gets married, she should stop working and stay home as a full-time housewife.
This leads to a problem: once women stay home, they completely lose their social connections and job opportunities.
They rely entirely on their husbands’ salaries to support themselves.
As a result, Japanese housewives are particularly prone to gambling on the foreign exchange market, stealing money from their husbands to visit host clubs, or committing adultery.
This is because they stay at home with nothing to do and have few friends.
Consequently, Japan has an exceptionally high rate of adultery.
>>
>>291892125
There was one particular case that got really famous in Japan, so anon might be mixing up some facts. In the Watanabe Mai case, she wasn't even a streetwalker but instead she was pretending to have an earnest romantic interest in her marks and told them various lies about her supposed financial troubles in order to open their wallets. Then she got the bright idea to produce a manual on how to best scam men and sold it to other women, which eventually led to her downfall.

The twist of the story is, of course, deliciously ironic: Watanabe ruthlessly defrauded gullible men by feigning love for the purpose of letting herself get defrauded by some ruthless pretty boy who feigned to love her. I don't imagine it's all that common, but it still goes to show that a scammer is not necessarily immune to falling for her own scam. The whole incident would make a great premise for a black comedy manga not entirely unlike Kurumi-chan.

As for the alleged 40% of streetwalkers spending money on hosts, I guess it's not outside the realm of possibility that this relates to the proportion of whores who have a pimp who in turn might happen to have a side hustle as a host or just pose as such for declaring his income.

The average age at which Japanese women lose their virginity is 13.
If you're looking for an 18 virgin, she's definitely going to be ugly.
>>
>>291893433
>average
Japs generally don't lose virginity anymore, so it's either a very old survey, or all the deflowered children skew the statistics.

Kadokawa wasnt sure how well the anime would do and they are themselves in a bad position because an investment fund is gunning for them and they almost managed to replace the current CEO by a western approved one.
The only reason they failed was because they told the japanese shareholders that the new CEO they would name wouldnt be japanese.

My blood pressure dropped and I partially staggered to the floor upon checking my phone at work. Caught myself hyperventilating as I was deciding whetever to close the position that was already very well seeping into the rest of the account balance.
Had to crunch the rest of the shift as I wasted 3 hours staring at candles while feeling dizzy. It may not have been a spasmic breakdown like Kurumi, but it wasn't really pleasant either.

Don't get me wrong: I enjoy watching retards gamble. Anyone with a working brain can still derive from Kaiji and Kurumi, that those people are retards and not meant for imitation.
And even in Akagi Fukumoto makes it pretty clear, that any mere mortal will meet with a horrible fate, should he ever gamble with more than he can afford to lose.

Reminder that it's a time honored Japanese tradition to whore out their women in order to bring fresh capital into the nation. The money earned from sex trafficking Japan's daughters paid for the modernization of the country during the Meiji era. In these troubled times, now it is Kurumi's turn to do her patriotic duty and let her every hole be defiled so that the economy may blossom again.

It's a combination of the so-called "zombie firms" (instead of forcing these insolvent firms to declare bankruptcy, they allowed banks to roll over the loans for uncompetitive firms, leaving less credit available for more competitive potential startups) and liquidity trap (deflation leads to people preferring not to spend because they expect their money to be worth more the longer they hold it, leading to even *more* deflation), because for some reason BoJ kept the discount rate at 6% for almost a decade.
tl;dr they messed up how they handled the bubble burst
It's a bit of a chicken-or-egg situation but in my opinion Japan as a culture is just way too economically conservative.

It’s also a “Friendship beats all” story. In the manga, Mochiko somehow convinces Kurumi to get help so she doesn’t end up like her mother and I think that’s beautiful. Also Switzerland is an entity of evil.

One thing that's severely unappreciated is Kurumi's POV. People somehow don't understand that she's a person cursed by their mother, who has been stuck by trauma of feeling responsible for her death and being unable to do anything about it, all because she was a child. But no, the message is clearly only Gambling is bad and Mochiko is evil. She in her own twisted way was the only one who can get both our lovable retards to grow as a person.

>>291911190

Yasuko doesn't exist in the story at time anyway and only knows of Afi-chan. Later on, you see how she actually helps Yasuko later (out of her own selfish goals ofc) and was positively amazed at her decision to go all-in at her manga and quit FX. She tested Yasuko later on and passed the vibe check too, to the point of spilling out her true position to Yasuko. She didn't even do that to Kurumi until later on.

Kurumi is ultimately a tsundere who feels nothing for retards and good-for-nothing princesses who know nothing, understandably.

that's a rather rosy interpretation
asking Mochiko probably was Mebuki's research
and Mochiko, rather than being a neutral helper, often presents information in a way to steer others towards risky behaviour, we've seen her do that multiple times
(and that's not to mention proactively setting up traps for others, see Kurumi's "mentorship" for the blonde)
you could fruitfully argue that it was Mebuki's fault for trusting people she barely knows, but that hardly paints Mochiko as innocent

>>291914362
It's one thing to do evil shit, because you want it to happen. I can accept people like that perfectly well. You can potentially convince them, what they are doing is wrong.
It's another thing to do evil shit, because the groupthink, you must obey, tells you, it's a good thing. I can't bear retards like that, because you cannot argue against the totalitarian groupthink.
