>>291910433Anon who did the rentry translations here, I don't read much murim so I don't know how hard authors usually try, that being said the names are all written in Korean pronunciation but also have hanja (Korean equivalent of kanji) for most names the first time they appear so that it's clear what Chinese names they're supposed to correspond to, there's also a bit where the MC muses about a pun on the name of Chengdu that only works in Korean but not Chinese and that her name (So-un) in Chinese would be Xiaoyun. Also the actual setting of the isekai is ostensibly a Chinese-developed indie roguelike survival game called 虚幻江湖 (Heohwan Gangho/Xuhuan Jianghu) so it should at least make an attempt to be more Chinese, thought I've read some reader comment pointing out minor terminology and setting mistakes so the author can fix them. On a side note, I've translated 虚幻江湖 as "The Illusory Jianghu" but in hindsight I think it might actually be "Unreal Jianghu" because Unreal Engine in Chinese is 虚幻引擎 so a game called 虚幻江湖 might actually be a pun that means "a wuxia game made in Unreal Engine". But I don't know if 13H actually intended this or if it's a coincidence.

At first it was ambiguous whether the MC's name (Wang So-un) was supposed to be 王素雲 (Wang Suyun) or 王小雲 (Wang Xiaoyun) because no hanja was provided, I went with Suyun because Xiaoyun sounds like a name you'd give a little kid or a cute girl but a later monologue made it clear that it is supposed to be Xiaoyun. By comparison the Tang clan oppai loli who might be MC's blood related cousin that appears later is called Dang So-ran in Korean, and the hanja is 唐素蘭 which in Chinese is Tang Sulan, that 素 is the same "Su" that I initially assumed for the MC's name. /blog
