Frankly, it read extremely dated, as a 1990s cyberpunk. Considering what's going on in the world right now aand how US is shaping up, this is as dated as when Shirow decided to stop Appleseed because the world he was presenting had disappeared with the fall of the Soviet Union. And I am a long time Shirow fan was reading Applessed back in 1986 when Eclipse began translating it.
