It’s a damn shame the manga’s going at a snail’s pace. How many more seasons can you even get with less than 60 chapters

Personally I'm glad they dropped the explicit sexual prostitution from the manga. Yes, I understand it is a possible result of dire financial straits but I just don't like it. Call me soft, gay, or whatever else you like but I found it unpleasant in the webcomic when Mochiko pressured Mebuki into prostitution and then she had her virginity taken by one of her new employer's agents as part of her orientation.

All he needs to do is stick the landing and this will be an instant classic. Kurumi needs to end up as a pregnant slave bride to ojisan. Don't stop now, Sincos-sama! And for the finishing touch we need an omake epilogue showing that she eventually squandered all of ojisan's wealth too, so that the cycle may start over with Kurumi's own daughter.
>>
>>291997223
It depends on the market you get into and the type of trading you are doing. Technically US marketplaces are supposed to have regulations in place to simply close / liquidate the account upon approach of zero, but whereas overseas ones do not, but I wouldn't put it past the evilness of the financial jews or the stupidity of anons to find a way anyway that somehow bypasses the restrictions in a way that's met with "sucks for you lol"

>>
>>292014657
>literally how can you even lose money fx trading?
the answer lies in the wonderful magic of (((leverage)))
>>
>>292014657
You don't actually buy any currency. Retail trading done through online brokerage platforms - like what Kurumi and her "friends" are doing - is purely virtual trading where you speculate on the price movements without owning anything physically. The only money that you actually own is your profits, which can only be withdrawn in the currency which you used to fund your account. So you don't get to withdraw JPY in the scenario you outlined. Calling it "trading" is almost dignifying it too much. In order to do what you suggest, you'd need to actually buy Yen directly, but that's something that only institutionial traders really do.

in theory you shouldn't.
1. you get force liquidated before you go into theoretical debt
2. the only way one ever theoretically force liquidates is if a country rugpulls the currency so much that the mechanic of force liquidation stop order fails. (example if you have 24mil yen of position on 3mil capital but you only recovered 20mil when you close due to insane volatility you will have 1mil debt)
3. unless it's in some backwater country like japan, most brokerages have stopgaps through financial insurance instruments that ensure you never go negative balance in scenario #3

How much profit can you realistically see in a market? I'm not sure it's worth it without the potential for a return in multiple orders of magnitude.
>>
>>292019597
You're saying if you can't get at least 100x your input that you'd rather sit on your money and let it lose value from inflation? You're kinda retarded, but yes that is still technically attainable, though the odds of that happening within a timeframe where you can actually enjoy those gains isn't really realistic
>>
>>292019919
Micromanagement is a bitch. You have to be monitoring your portfolio constantly to make the most out of it, don't you?
10x would still be fine but I bet that's already like hitting the lottery.
>>
>>292020041
Of course. With "safe" investments like index funds you wouldn't need micromanagement, just set it and forget it (which is also statistically the most likely way to make you the most money) and could hit 10x in your lifetime... but it's still something like 25 years at their "average" rate of return. Gamblers like Kurumi and /biz/ in general only take on way riskier plays because of the greedy desire for more than this in a shorter period of time.
>>
>>292020091
There is an argument to be made if the choices are to wait until you're nearly dead or go for a long shot. Ideally, I'd want to try risky stuff with completely disposable income only and I'm wondering if that could hit 10x or more within a year or so.

S&P500 has a historical annual return of around 10%. If you invest a 100$ per month for 20 years then you are gonna get about 75k out of which 50k is from interest.
That sounds pretty nice but you spent 20 years of your life doing it and it didn't get you out of the lower class.
The system rewards you if you have money and gives you a participation award if you are poor.
>>
>>292020917
That's how I feel about it for the most part but I'm thinking if you jump on something really early like crypto, AI, GME, etc. or invest right after a massive crash, it might be possible to make your way into the higher classes.
>>
>>292020967
You never make it into the higher classes unless you manage to pull a Bezos. Even someone like Notch for all his billions remains an outsider to them. He's just a filthy rich plebeian who got lucky, same as any lottery winner. Your best hope is that your children might take root in the higher classes if provided the proper high class education that allows them to mingle with high class offspring and ideally marry one of them. Upward social mobility is almost always a generational project.
>>
>>292021081
>He's just a filthy rich plebeian who got lucky, same as any lottery winner.
Good enough for me, economically is all I'd want. Socially, the mega rich are bigger degenerates than most.
>>
>>292020967
Entirely possible, but that means waiting for a historic opporturnity which you can't reliably predict when it will happen and how it will develop.
That's another reason why so many people get into trading (gambling) in the first place. Most end up broke, but the idea of skipping ahead and unlocking actual upward mobility within a single afternoon rather than decades is too good to resist.

>>
>>292021579
Yeah, well, it is. The narrator already told you in episode 1, remember? Since you're not actually buying any foreign currency, you're basically just making a bet with your broker whether line will go up or down. If you get it right, the broker pays you, if you get it wrong, you pay the broker. Hardly a difference from betting on horse races, except you might have an easier time to manipulate races as an individual, whereas in forex you are at the mercy of whatever the big players do to fuck with currency rates.

That is exactly wrong. Historical data showed that the most successful traders are dead people. And the 2nd most successful traders are traders who lost their passwords. That is why the saying "time in the market" beats timing the market" exists.

Basically impulses and random decisions that traders make tend to screw them more than it helps. And the few superstar traders are just surviorship bias; they are the traders who statistically guess right by chance and made millions, and they are not actually smarter than the colleagues who lost.

I think some unregulated brokers even do 1000 or 2000, but it's not really accessible for the average retail trader and involves certain restritions on how to trade it. Dragon Quest does a really, really good job with its casinos of simulating the sense that you've won something significant and exclusive that you probably didn't expect to and gives you that full on high when that happens. You can tell this stuff was designed by a dude who honestly loves gambling, but wants other people to be able to experience that in a safe way that doesn't force them to risk their actual money.

It's a very dopamine based kind of high though that's dwarfed by the pleasure of things that are capable of providing full immersion.

This is averages across many years, of course you can cash out big on big plays, but you don't want too much exposure to that sort of thing, lest you end up like our intrepid heroine.
Another thing that may be counterintuitive about portfolio management that sort of explains these average gains that feel fairly low is that you generally don't want all your fundamentally sound assets moving in the same direction at the same time for the same reasons.

Of course, how defensive you want to be is up to your risk tolerance and how much you feel like doing this shit as a side job. The more risk you have, the more you'll need to babysit your portfolio.

he tried to do market making for polymarket during the elections, which was actually easy money because polymarket is full of low information traders(retards), but he took on too much risk and something he didn't anticipate happened (I'm guessing some huge ass volatility spike in one direction) and he lost it all. later he tried to short small cap stocks, which is also a high winrate because a large spike upwards almost always comes back down, which means can keep adding on top of your shorts at each level while waiting for it to come back down... until that one time it doesn't and you lose it all on a short squeeze.

What's even the point of FX trading? I get stocks. You buy a share of a company because you want to take part in its success and the company gets some money from you, enabling them to acquire new gear or hire new people or whatever. So it's win-win if you guess correctly which company has a good business model and capital will be drawn to wherever it can be put to use most productively. But FX seems like people are literally just juggling funny numbers in the hopes of ripping off other people who do the same. Does it have any real world benefit whatsoever or is it really just scammers scamming scammers?
>>
>>292032082

>That's so disappointing. I thought "you need to have money to make money" meant the rich at least were multiplying their money, not slowly compounding it.
You seem to miss-understand. Most mature bushinesses are stuck making 5% profit. 10% interest is actually VERY good.

You think that is too low, but in fact many scams deliberately offer 15-20% interest because they know only idiots would sign up.

Another possible reason you think it is too low is you might be comparing it to credit card debt (30%) or payday loans (1000%). But that's just it; neither credit card companies nor payday loans expect you to pay the full amount. They instead want you to be stuck extending the loan forever and pay everything you have for the rest of your working life. They are not REALLY expecting you to pay that interest rate off.

If you want to sell your soul, work at a payday lender. Apparently they actually pay their employees well as people get attacks of conscience and quit. Watching people destroy themselves because of you is its own hell.
>>

>>
>>292033256
>I think it's too low because the mega rich throw around billions like nothing. I expected them to be making more billions rather than hundreds of millions at a time.
10% of 10 billion is 1 billion. A human doesn't actually need that much money to live, so when you are a billionaire nearly all that you earn gets saved. In fact as a billionaire you run out of things to buy. 10% interest is huge, but you couldn't see it that way because you view it from a smaller bank account. 10% interest from 1 million dollars is enough to keep an adult human alive comfortably indefinitely. 10% interest of a billion dollars means you double your money every 7 years or so. In reality that doesn't work because you run out of things to buy. Elon is forced to build rockets and sell internet and cellphone plans because there was nowhere else to park the money. Remember that interest rates only work when someone else EARNS that money. That is why there is a maximum cap that a bank would take your savings before they refuse to give you interests on it.
>>
>>292034627
>you double your money every 7 years or so
Okay, now I see the issue. I was thinking of profit compared to the original investment rather than interest which can compound.
>Remember that interest rates only work when someone else EARNS that money.
I'm actually not sure how interest works outside the context of a bank/loan.
>>
>>292032082
As designed, the FX market is just a way to transform one currency into another. Pools of money are on the market available to buy and sell at any price. The exchange rate you see is the price the market has agreed on. Any time you need to convert your currency for travel you're utilizing this market.
Governments and big firms participate to keep the gears of society running, transforming their currency into other currencies to buy goods and services in other countries. For example most government have some reserve of US dollars on hand. A lot of it from holding US gov bonds which pay interest in USD and they'll sell this on the market as needed for their machinations.
FX retail however, is exactly as you describe. The broker gives you control of a huge amount of currency via leverage so you can profit off of a few cents of movement. In exchange they get a commission/fee.
Trading creates price discovery and liquidity. Basically buyers and sellers are in a war and the current price is the current battleground.
The consumer and government benefit because they can just jump in and convert quickly without a fuss.
>>
>>292034739
>I'm actually not sure how interest works outside the context of a bank/loan.
When you get a loan, you pay interest. That payment is what gets used to pay the savers who have money in the bank.

But there is only so many loans a bank can give out. The number of people asking for a loan is finite. And out of everyone asking many are not trusted to pay it back and get rejected. So if the bank has TOO MUCH in savings accounts, they wouldn't be able to loan out the money enough to balance the books. Banks call it a "cash flood". They can refuse to take your deposit if they can't expect to be able to loan it out.
>>
>>292034867
So rich business owners are making their money through the bank model rather than any markets and that's the main way they siphon off money from the rest of the population?
>>
>>292034957
>So rich business owners are making their money through the bank model rather than any markets and that's the main way they siphon off money from the rest of the population?
Actually no, as I said the really rich people just run businesses because they can't put billions in a bank.

The 10% yearly from index funds is what average joes like us can use to make money safely. But it only become serious money if you push it past a threshold. it is the only safe way we know to earn it. invest + time.
>>
>>292035037
Where does their interest come from then? The people who lose their money to the market?
>>
>>292035175
The real answer is nothing. It literally comes out from nowhere. The "interest" from an index fund is an estimate based on the people's trust in the economy, and arbitrage as you buy it early and sell it later.

The money itself due to the increasing valuation of index funds also technically appears out of nowhere. Valuation increases if very little / no one wants to sell at a lower price, with only price discovery to determine the "worth" of index funds. For example, if you're the only person with golden apples in the neighborhood you can charge whatever the hell you want. $5 -> $1000. However it's the market that determines if $1000 is worth paying for your apple.
>>
>>292035175
>>292036016
Same anon explaining interest from banks. It's also smoke and mirrors, but the competition isn't just you but also other financial instruments that charge interest. Let's say you want to deposit $1 to a bank. The bank could lower its interest to 0% cus you are a lazy mofo, but if you see that you'll just go to another bank. But let's say the bank offered a magic number like 100% per annum. Now that's diff. Banks will get too much capital for too much risk. Plus they have to pay that interest out at some point. They'll never be able to pay your interest out without doing Yazuka-style loan sharking which is illegal. At most they can loan out maybe 40% through CCs from people whose profiles are questionable. So therefore they'll lower the interest to match their expenses until you see the number you see on most bank offerings. There's other factors like credibility and liquidity but eh...
>>
>>292036016
>>292036238
So all their money is theoretical until they sell and take a buyer's money? And banks don't have a store of their own money to help deter cash floods or whatever else could go wrong?
>>
>>292036768
Nope, the central bank takes care of the actual cash for a cost in cases of bank runs. For bank floods, you can successfully blame AI bubble for why it hasn't been an issue for a while. Even the payouts from interest are all just numbers on a system somewhere. The bank in reality literally just adds a number to an account the same way you do on an Excel spreadsheet and it's only balanced out by govt mandates for bookkeeping accounting records, especially in the case of a bank collapse.

Previously banks used fractional reserve banking to ensure they don't just loan out everything, but nowadays due to the immense speed of transactions required for modern finance (FX is literally in real-time), it's been changed to a "capital" based bookkeeping approach where a bank just has to have a "certain amount of capital" (typically in govt bonds or even real estate or gold or bonds from other banks) in order to avail of central bank services and certification. The best part is since those themselves only have perceived value banks also even game that restriction.
>>
>>292037391
I don't completely understand all of that but it sounds really fucking bad if both banks and funds are simply recording numbers. One catastrophe would break the whole economic framework.
>>
>>292037444
Part of the reason 2008 happened is because banks held onto bad mortgage bonds and bad insurance papers. All of a sudden banks that held alot of those suddenly had no capital for liquidity and thus bankruptcy. Cue a cascade of capital loss from diff banks whose capital was exposed to the banks exposed from the source and you get a typical modern financial crisis.

So yes the only reason everything is holding up right now is because everyone perceives stuff has value and somewhere out there are accountants ensuring that the numbers make sense for their operations.

>If you play it smart and find the right market you can make a few thousand dollars per month even on a cheap setup
Any anons looking to quit their day job or trying to earn some easy extra money as NEETs should take this man's word to heart. You don't need to waste your life on a 9-to-5 and/or stay poor. Just be prudent, do your research and don't fall into the thrill seeking gambler mindset and you'll do better than any honest work would ever allow you. Honest work is for suckers.

So you're telling me polymarket isn't a meme as long as you keep up with current events?
>>
>>292055551
Yes. Just don't use the site to bet on sporting events.

what about horseracing

trading around events is one strategy, although not always a good one. if you have a good bullshit detector for when things are being manipulated then you could try it. but the most important part is understanding how markets work and risk management so you don't blow up in a few losing trades. even better if you can find an edge, ask AI to build an algorithm to automate your trades, and then you can sit back and watch the money flow in with zero effort.
